They're saying the right things, but can they do it? They were pretty bad against the Colts and the Colts QB's weren't exactly all pro QB's.

But they never jammed the WR's. It has to be just vanilla for the preseason. All reports say they are practicing press coverage in camp.

But shouldn't that be practiced in game situations? It seems to me they can only learn so much from TC practice, using it against other teams is where they find out if it works and are they any good at it? I'm old and so is my football experience, but in my experience the defense is at it's best if it's aggressive. Playing 10 -15 yards off the LOS sure isn't aggressive.

I think our secondary is going to be just fine. Jammer is going to step it up and looks great from all accounts I've seen (and my limited time at TC). Sammy Davis was getting a lot of one on one time with Stewart, and I think he will probably mature quite a bit this season. Kiel and Florence have me excited to watch them in action.

The only area I'm really concerned is the pass defense of the line backers. We're going to get hurt bad underneath and in the flats if these guys don't step it up.

Don't forget that Donnie didn't play and he's our best coverage LB. I'd like to see more of Cooper though. That kids pretty tough and he played well the other night.

I'm not doubting the ability of these D-backs, I'm more concerned about the scheme. If they are told to play well off of the WR's all the time, we'll give up about 35 ten yard plays per game. That's what concerns me. I hope I see them up in the WR's face at least some of the time this next week.

I saw him, he didn't play much though. I think he got one tackle. I was wondering if he's knicked up or something?

I'm not sure if he's playing yet or not. I haven't read anything about him. Maybe Joelbolt can tell us?

LoL- I agree with TK and think they will be the strongest aspect of our defense. I know I sound like a broken record, but we are going to get hurt bad in the flats and underneath, even when Donnie makes it back.
