San Diego Chargers
Underrated: Third-year linebacker Ben Leber is a steady player who gets overlooked because of Donnie Edwards. Leber goes about his duties without much flash, but he gets the job done.
Overrated: Safety Kwame Lassiter is a decent player, but he isn't nearly as good as his reputation. He makes some plays on balls, but he isn't a great tackler and he gambles too much.
It's hard for the Bolts to have very many overrated players, because no one gets any press. We got rid of two of the biggest "overrated" guys in the offseason - Stephanie and Marcy.
Gates really doesn't qualify for underrated yet. Any others?????

We all think LT is the very best RB but many people in other parts of the country don't rate him that high because he doesn't make it to National TV due to the losing team. The fact that he didn't even make it to the pro-bowl last year tells me he's under-rated.

I don't think LT is underrated. Many see him as the best RB.
Williams underrated
Overrated: Jammer (right now)

The reason why I say LT is underratted is b/c everybody in the league knows he's good. But, he's more than just good he is the best in the league and I can say roughly 60 percent of the NFL doesn't think he is. J-Will is most deff. underratted. Igor is most deff. overratted b/c he performed well on the bech press at the combine. The man hasn't done nothing since he got here ( too much for being strong, which has nothing to do with your talent ).

Igor was part of the Defensive line that got us #3 against the rush. Remember in the 3-4 DE's are not sack monsters. Dude did great for a rookie

How you can say that Igor did nothing last year is ridiculous. He started every game as a rookie DE and we were in the top 10 in rushing defense. Do you seriously think that JW made all those plays himself. The fact that the ends caused the runners to go inside to where JW could make the plays speaks volumns of their abilities. Igor was not signed to be a pass rushing specialist, but to stop the run, which he did.....IMHO

I may be a simpleton for saying this but... This being an old thread that "somebody" resurrected to promote their own aganda I've just got to do so. (Oh, and for that user that said LT isn't under rated - the post you were looking at was in reference to the 2003 season - that is what happens when people dig up these old threads with no explanation).
Some people are so much into being "fans" of individual players they forget about being Chargers fans.. All I know is that trying to boost your favorite player by "talking down" on other Chargers is a bit upsetting to me.. We couldn't ask for any better than Big Jamal and Igor - but if one chooses to crawl in the jock of either then disrespects the other that is just plain wrong in my opinion.

Well.... the entire Chargers organization was underrated last year LOL.
Overrated are : our secondary team (Jammer, Davis, etc....)
With the run stopped the passing was suppose to be easier to defend. They weren't as good as our defensive line and linebackers who did their job.
Some say other teams pass all the time and tire the secondary and that's why we suck at our passing defense last year.
Isn't the secondary job to handle the passing game?
Are the fans giving them lame excuses for not having enough stamina?

If you were to ask any objective NFL fan who is the one RB they'd take to build their franchise around, 80+% would say LT. He can play in any system (WCO, vertical game, etc) because he can do it all: run with power, take it to the house, catch, pass protect, carry a heavy load. He is a naturally gifted runner.
He is a tremendous player, and I respect him all the more because he has played hurt and wanted to stay with the team that drafted him.
Screw the Pro Bowl. LT has been an All-Pro and that is far more meaningful recognition.

Again dude stop posting such ridiculous posts. Nobody said they tire to easily they said that with a team passing the ball 45 times a game its just hard to stop and no it is not solely on the secondary to stop passes this is a team sport pass rush also helps. Probably why it is called PASS rush
i have somethin to tell you...every other division did not have as many explosive offenses as ours. look at oakland, they had a crazy vertical passing game. then kansas city had a power running game, and a very good passing game. then denver has the running game and also a great passing game. other divisions have one or the other...not both like our division.
underrated: LaDainian Tomlinson- people still consider priest holmes better
jamal williams- best nose tackle in all of the nfl
drayton florence- a secondary playmaker
donnie edwards- best middle linebacker in the nfl
overrated: quentin jammer...he hasn't lived up to his #5 selection in the draft...he doesn't get turnovers, and his strength is hitting like a safety...hopefully he can help us more.

People need to throw it towards jammer to get turnovers . . . and as long as he's not letting people to get by him, i'm happy.
people get it past jammer...but look at all the other corners in the nfl...qb's like never challenge guys like bailey, mcallister...until last year, but even when they did, they still came away with some turnovers. people throw at jammer..n its either a completion, or an incompletion...jammer should take more gambles like drayton during the right times when he has safety help overtop.

Mcallister only had 1 pick and bailey got beat like red headed stepdaughter and drayton is a good corner but lets give him a year as the starter before we bust one. 6 games is nothing we saw the san fran preseason game so bad games DO actually happen and he did not play enough to see this.

but these morons havent saw chargers vs. colts...chargers secondry play very soild and play very great...until 4th quarter...(sobbing) secondry just ran out energy and got murdered by manning's team. but this year....our defense will murder both manning's teams....gaints and colts....are next!
i said until last year. i'm talkin about the years previous...bailey and mcallister weren't thrown at very much n when they werre, they made the qb pay by getting an int.

Aren't you the moron? Chargers did a terrific job Pass rush Payton Manning that game. They sacked him 4 times. Still our secondary let them win the game.
The linebackers and defensive line did most of the work. Our secondary screw it up and let Manning come back in 4th quarter.
They didn't play great. They would be great if they did something about Manning bombartment.
Again at the game Chargers vs Colts:
Our defensive line and linebackers stepped up and bring their A+ game.
The secondary did a solid job through 3 quarters (somewhat). They screw up and let the Colts back into the game and win it.

why dont you say this to igorunchained he'll give you a lesson or two about igor....igor was a monster on the D-line....
What could I possibly say that hasnt been said already?
I can't put Jamal down.....the guy is as good as you say he is. Without Jamal on the line the D would have been in rough shape. The NT position in a 3-4 defense is the cornerstone....and Jamal played as well as anyone could have asked.
Igor has had 6 years of football experience....if I remember correctly. He played DT in a 4-3 and last year he became a DE in a 3-4......much like Castillo will.
If you want to see the "Igor Olshansky Experience" all you need to do is look at Steve Foley's sack numbers and the numbers from the other side.
You can watch old games and count how many times Igor and Jamal ARENT double teamed....see if you can make it to your second hand. Watch the replay of the Santana Moss catch in the Playoffs.....count the Jets O linemen who are blocking Igor.
Igor didnt test positive for steroids and he showed up for camp.......a couple of other bonuses that we dont have this year!
Best Tattoos in football!
He invented the rotary engine! ok....now Im just making stuff up.
Either way, you can talk smack all you want to me in this forum....but I dont suggest that you ever say that to Igor in person...it might make him angry.
And you wouldnt like him when he's angry! :Bolt:
