With those two hosses in the middle with Hardwick, I like the Bolts' chances on 3rd or 4th and 1.

On rushes outside, Goff and Fonoti will be great pull blockers, too. Expect to see LT around the ends a lot.

It looks like they really hit it off as friends too. I saw them come out of the tunnel against the Cards, side by side pep talking each other up. I really think on of the most important keys to sucess for the Chargers this year was getting Fonoti back, lean, mean, and ready to prove to everyone that he is a great football player. I really think he has a potential Hall of Fame career in front of him, if he stays healthy. He is the biggest strongest football player I have seen in my life time of 58 years. He is just demoralizing opposing D lines.

How do you think he'd handle Ernie Ladd? i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif

I agree that Goff and Fonoti are both very good run blockers. LT must love them. The question is - will the Quarterbacks love them? Although, with a RB like LT, and Guards like this, we may not need to pass! Just joking, I know it's important to mix in the pass and the run.

thus the burning question about the Bolts this year....can they throw the ball with any kind of consitancy? I know Fonoti LOOKS like a stud and at time has played like a stud, but will he make it through the season without a trip to the injured reserve? I think the O-line is the key to offensive success for the team. If they can pass block and get Brees into a decent pocket position, he will find and hit receivers. I know that they offensive line looks like it is working thus far in preseason, but I'm still worried about our depth and pass blocking. If Fonoti or Van Buren or Goff or any of those starters goes down, I think we are back to where we were last year and the 5 years before that...

Actually KB, the Chargers two 7th round picks are looking great, as good as CVB and Bogal can help at OT in a pinch, so there is hope if a starter goes down. Now for a price, you can get you Padre or Uncle to mail you the games on tape, so you can enjoy the Charger trip to the playoffs.

Iron Mtn...
XnetZero is looking into burning the games onto DVD's and shipping them down...I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a game tape today....
I hope you're right about the depth. without seeing the preseason games, I can't get much of an idea of how good the backup O-line is looking. Who is gonna back up LT? Tell me that they are gonna give Chapmen a chance. I worked with his grandfather and the grandfather used to tell me that all Chapmen ever wanted when he was growing up was to play for the Bolts. I think he shows so much promise

Kiwi - It's hard to tell if the second string o-line people are really good because they play against the other teams scrubs most of the time. In Fridays game they started Olivea at RT and he was beaten often. I think he proved that he has potential but he also proved that he's not quite ready for the starters job yet. I''m guessing that CVB moves back to RT with Oben at LT and that's how we start the season.

Chapman played well in the first game but he's nicked up and didn't play this week. They seem to want Turner to win the backup job (they give him the most reps), but I'm not impressed that much. I hope Chapman get some more carries next Thursday. Looks like Johnson is on the way out. Also wondering about FB, Pinnock? He hasn't played a down yet.

Kiwi, I taped the game for your Dad, it is fine with me if he sends it to you. He looks better, but is hurting for sure, that is a tough operation.
