Hey-
I live in San Diego, but your not the only one. I went to the Bolt's game in new Soldier field last year and pre game talked to every Bolt's fan I saw. I would guess I met like ten from the great white North. About (or should I say aboot) half where Flutopians from his CFL days. One couple I remember from Toronto were totally decked out in Bolt's gear, I mean I think they even had yellow socks on. Anyways they admited they had never even been to San Diego. Just adopted the team back in the Fouts days. It was so weird to me.

What a GAME!
Anywho, even tho we love Flutie and what he did for the CFL, I personally can't get enuf of the BOLTS now. Weird, I know. With them now 3-2, they seem poised on the brink of a breakout.
And man do they have depth.

green riders have hands down the most talented team in canadian football. the only way they will lose the grey cup is if they beat themselves.

I was only joking about Ottawa (forgot the smiley i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif). I'm in Toronto. The Argos are having a resurgence in their fan base because of the NHL strike but Torontonians still remain the main fan base for the Bills. Without Torontonians the Buffalo games would probably have about 10,000 in attendance!
I’ve always thought that if we boycotted Buffalo they would be forced to relocate to T.O. But I’m afraid there will never be a Canadian NFL team because the TV ratings system the NFL uses to negotiate it’s lucrative TV deals are not available in Canada. It’s different then the NBA or MLB that have a ton of local coverage. The NFL’s bread and butter comes from it’s national deal.

it hurt gadzooks. it really did. it was a great game though. wally buono is a good coach. the lions have a lot of skill, i truly think the Riders are the best team in this league though. this whole province took this loss hard, who knows what will happen next year. those idiot fans gave us all a bad name.
i like the argos too. good defence and special teams, thats my kind of football.
i look forward to taking in the grey cup this weekend, add the chargers beating the raiders and it should be a great day of football.
anybody follow university football? I cant wait to go see the east and west huskies face off on saturday.

I've been a Bolts fan for 25 years, Fouts and Air Coryell got me hooked on this team. I wear my colors every year, in good times and bad. Of course when the weather gets real cold I wear a long sleeved Charger Jersey. I may have to break it out if it gets much colder.

Did this once before but in the sake of "representin'" here it goes again - chargers fan since approx. 1990ish, loved "blue collar" Stan and when Tony Martin left Tim McKyer grasping at his cleats for a 48 yd. TD in January of 95 I was hooked entirely... Originally from Victoria, B.C. but currently expat-ing in South Korea to be near my fiance (korean).. played some Canadian football as a youth for the Hornets in Victorian (DB).
Sens fan.. eesh, .. bleak. Leafs fan all the way here and keep booin', 4 times straight and no prospect of that changing anytime soon. Leafs >.... Senators

it's funny, i'm a leaf fan, raptor fan (although i hate them right now), blue jays fan (although the AL East is ridiculous and baseball sucks) and an argos and rock fan.
but for some reason, i love the chargers. more than all those other teams combined.
but for all you leaf fans out there, would you rather have the leafs win the cup or the chargers win the superbowl? my friends ask me that all the time.
i guess that question goes for you canuck, flames, and hab fans too.
not the senator fans though. they'll never win the cup.

Whats with these Harsh words to the Sens???
Me being the Biggest Sens fan East, no wait! West of Ontario I take Offense to that. Had there been hockey this season and Hasek played like he did for Buffalo there is no question they would have won the cup. So all you sens haters can go to hell because the chances of the leafs and/or the sens winning the cup is 0 cause it ain't comming back lol.
Now I despise all people who hate the sens but because we all would KILL A MAN to see a Chargers game I'm neutral will all of you... Unless hockey comes back :(

Hmmm, BC...Ontario...where are all the fans from saskatchewan??
I'm a proud saskatchewanian even though its cold and wet, i still love it here. The main downside....I live in a town of 200 people, and when you get the chance to talk football with people, you make the most of it.

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I can't seem to get back into Hockey the way I was in previous years. The strike seems to have sucked the life out of me.
I remember how the Baseball strike (after the back to back Blue Jays World Series titles) just sucked the life out of my enjoyment of the game.
Thank goodness the NFL is alive and well!!!

But other than that I have nothing against you Canucks. You're beer is better!

How big is the CFL up there compared to the NFL? In the States, the NFL is the biggest thing, and the CFL gets almost no coverage. The CFL championship game and Ricky Williams get an extremely short mention at the tail end of Sportcenter.

The CFL is terrible. A live game is sort of fun, but watching a game on tv is a joke. With three downs instead of four there is no chance to get a running game going. The Quarterback play is so bad, they just chuck the ball down the field and hope for the best. You will never see more passing touchdowns or interceptions....i know that idea sounds exiting but the talent level just isnt there.

Whoa! The caliber of talent is a definite drop from the NFL, but the game is still decent. It's a passing game, but the run is still used, and the better teams run the ball quite well. The same theroy applies, establish a run, you have a better pass attack, and vise versa. Some players have established themselves in the CFL and been successful moving to the NFL, lots, not so much. But the reverse is true as well. Ricky didn't exactly run at will against any team up here as many thought he would, and that's not just cuz he's a stoner. Mark Gastineau came up here to play for BC and he was going to eat up the sub par blockers and QB's, guess what? He was the one who was eaten, unfortunately, he was totally ineffective (albeit way past his prime).
The CFL game sometimes reminds me of a neighborhood fun game with it's wide open passing and apparent lack of stability/professionalism?, that bugs me. But it's also a game that almost always has that, "it ain't over till it's over" feel. Having said all that, I way prefer the NFL, no comparison. The CFL games are fun to watch and go to, cuz it's FOOTBALL, and it's right in my back yard, and the BC Lions kick ass!
Lions QB Dave Dickenson '97-> '06 151 TD's vs 47 INT's 111.3 career pass rating. *Not bad for someone who's just chucking the ball down field and hoping for the best.
Lions RB Joe Smith took over for Antonio Warren (2119 rushing yds. '04-'05 w/18 TD's) early in the season last year and ran for 887 yds on 166 carries for 9TD's, he also had 420 rec. yads w/ 1 TD *Not bad considering there's no chance to get a running game going.

To the Native Islander, there are Bolts fans here in Victoria. Not a lot, but when you meet one, you can feel it. A bartender at the Loghouse Pub. A guy in Canadian Tire with a 2006 Chargers cap (who told me where to get one). If you know Victoria, you'll know why I said only a local pub and not "The Fox" when I said where I got dubbed "San Diego Mike." Come back and watch a game with us. I've created a large cadre of Chargers sympathizers at the Fox, whoever else they actually root for. Ah, if the Chargers are in the Super Bowl, Victoria will rock!

Any Bolts fans in Edmonton around to hook up @ Schanks to watch a few games this season?
edmontoncharger
08-29-2007, 09:04 AM
Could be, although last time I went to Schanks (last season), the screens were horribly out of calibration and unwatchable, so we moved to Brewsters instead (high def plasmas, but not all the games)

I was in there the other day & they had new projectors up, should be better. Where is Brewster's, on Whyte?

I go to the Meadowlark one, I live in the westend. But they have one downtown and southside-century park too. Bout time Schanks put up new PJ's though, they were going downhill.

another fellow canadian charger fan, i'm impressed with us canucks. though i am a little disapointed with you cheerin on the stamps. i'll never get over henry burris and his defection from the riders.
in other news, the riders lost their main running attack, kenton keith signed with the colts which is pretty sweet on his part.
Many Colts fans (with noses pointed north) are up in arms about him. Some of these Colt fans are a bit uppidy that they have won the SB.

The Chargers are currently in 6th place but we want to improve. Go to www.clickforcans.com (http://www.clickforcans.com/) and vote for the Chargers! Also, if you clear your cookies, you can vote again. I'm sure the Green Bay fans are doing this and probably is the reason they have sooooooooo many votes.
Any Bolts fans in toronto id love to hit up a bar for some games...never have any other Bolt jerseys to cheer with

My son plays Minor football for the Edmonton Chargers. They just won Provincial Championship which would be like winning state in the U.S. By the way we are making the 48 hour roadie down to Qualcomm for the Dec 24 game against the Broncos. We have never been to a game and were wondering what is the must see/must do list for Chargers game day.

Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream in the cardboard box's is probobly the BEST Ice Cream I have EVER eaten. PERIOD. The Caramel-Praline is to kill for.
It trueley is a lovely place. But then again, so is all of Canada but Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver - and in that order. (although I have heard bad things about Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg in the winter, LMFAO)
That's why were one of the best country's in the world, if not the best. America also rocks. :)

Gonna pick up another ring (or 3) this year!
I have run the NFL Pool at work for the last 15 years.
