And from what I gather, Ricky is going to declare bankruptcy now to avoid it.

I know a lot of you have defended his decision- and that's fine... but his decision to NOT nut-up and repay the money is bullchit. The man is flat-out stealing. He's no better than Ryan Leaf.... hell, he's worse in my book.

On top of an idiot- he is now a dishonest idiot. You signed the contract Ricky... now be man enough to pay up for your "beliefs". You don't want to play football anymore?... fine, but pay back the money you owe... LOSER!

Not only that, but somehow by declaring bankrupcy and repaying only a portion of that signing bonus he ends up a FREE AGENT. Where's the CBA on that one?!?

makes you thankfull for LT...that being said I do feel for someone who clearly isn't 100 percent mentally. The dude has his problems and its sad that due to his proffession he can't deal with those privately.

Worse than Ryan Leaf? That's bold, very BOLD. I don't think it can get any worse, unless someone came along and got hurt in the preseason, or first game, then took the money and ran.

He did worse... he didn't even "get hurt"... he just took the money and ran. Straight-up thievery.

The cat was even weird in High School.......Patrick Henry Class of 1995 here.........he was quiet....and shy with the ladies....all I can say is I think between Master P, New Orleans fans and whatever kind of ISH he may be smoking (maybe crack?) he is one can shy of a six pack now. I don't know if you ever saw his interviews but he tried to get the fans behind him by giving them a sob story. He said he grew up in a rough neighborhood....last time I checked San Carlos (near the Rec) wasn't the "hood". Also, with an uncle named Cecil Fielder he must of had it really rough, semi-celebrity as a kid is a tough job....he would tell everyone his uncle was Cecil....he wasn't shy about that....lol. Oh yeah and he got that social anxiety disorder in New Orleans because he definately didn't have it when he was our RB!!

P.S. You never know, he may have got bent over way more than we think with Master P.....he might be in one of those money or your life type situations....with a record label owner who got his start up money by running drugs (which he openly states) you never know....Master P is wicked!!!

Ricky Williams is a TOOL. He used the Dolphins, and when he got caught again, he decided it was time to leave.

I gotta admit, this is one of the sickest football threads I have ever come a crossed. Talking about some legal loop holes that need to slammed shut. Ricky is upset that he carries to much of the work load? Christ, he plays a game for a freeking living, he should try working all year around at 12 bucks a hour and a 80/20 health care plan with a 401k plan that he can donate to, but his employer doesn't. I think he just surpassed boston as the mother of all mommas boys, talking about a wuss. On top of that he wanted to renegotiate his contract? ***, if they are trying to get back 8.6 mil, how much was his over all original contract? What on earth could he want to put into a new contract, he only has to play once a month or something and to top this all of with a big red cherry; if everything goes his way, he is a free agent after all of this is done. Probably just in time for the 2005 season. Geezus I do not have adequate words to describe the contempt I hold this guy in.

I know he has mental issues, but those are not a adequate excuse for these actions. He did not have go into foot ball, he did not have to sign those contracts, he could have taken many other routes in his life, but he choose this one. I could have understood it if he had said; sorry, I totally underestimated how much this would effect me. Here is the money I did not earn, I keep what I did and he cut ties that way. He didn't do that, he is simply trying to screw all parties involved to get his own way, just like a baby would. I hope the NFL bans him for life, if this is what actually happens.

It`s almost a waist of time to spend on someone who loses the passion and will to play a game for a living, I bet there is not a man in this website who wouldn`t kill for a chance to fill his cleats to put food on the table for his family, The guy has lost his mind and he needs to find it real soon!
