ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -- Oakland quarterback Rich Gannon has a broken vertebrae in his neck that will sideline him at least six weeks.

Gannon had an MRI exam Monday morning and was taken for further tests. Coach Norv Turner didn't believe Gannon was at risk for paralysis and said Gannon was walking around the team's training facility before receiving the news about his neck. ``He will be out an extended period. A six-weeks deal, or maybe longer,'' Turner said. ``It's disappointing.

In all seriousness, that would make me take a step back and say "I'm done".
Any hit after Gannon comes back could potentially paralize him for good.
It's absolutely not worth it.
Come on, we all like to say what we say about Raiders fans. But, would you really like to see a player paralized for life.

I was at the Raiders game last night and we should worry a lot more about Collins than Gannon.

Why wouldn't you think they would trade him.Do you think there just going to play him the whole year or maybe half the year and let him stand around till his contract expires so he can say later guy's and we don't get squat after the trade line ends.I'm trying to understand your reasoning diehard, i don't get it?

All these trade scenarios for Brees are ridiculous, he's not going anywhere, especially after his last two performances.

I was at the Raiders game last night and we should worry a lot more about Collins than Gannon.

MRI taken on Rich Gannon shows he has a broken vertibra in his neck. I don't think the Faiders will miss his play too much, Collins looked better in the passing game than Gannon.

I was talking with a Raider's Fan here at work, and he was glad Gannon was hurt, and his exact words were

"Is that what they called it, a broken neck, good I like Collins much better"
