I'm on Maui now for 25 years, but a lifetime fan, from the first game ever in SD at Balboa Stadium in '61, grew up in O.B., and try to arrange mainland travel to coincide with home games. Last game attended on 9/9/01 (yes just before 9-11) and had the intense pleasure of watching the Bolts shellac the Redskins. Tried and true for Gold and Blue, I've suffered through all the empty years, attended the lone championship game won (in '63) put up with Harland Svare and the drug scandals, applauded Tommy Prothro's draft genius, watched Air Coryell with delight, and once even baby-sat for Jack Kemp when I was at Dana Jr High. The easiest way to anger me is to dis the Bolts, and you can always spot my truck on Maui by the OB sticker and the Charger Power stickers. If you ever visit Maui, look me up by dining at the Waterfront Restaurant in Maalaea, or attending a paddling session with Kihei Canoe Club, ask for Hugh. Just a question to all you Hawaii fans, what time do you have to get up to watch the early games, I'm talking about the East coast games like the Browns this Sunday.

Well, I believe Hawaii is 3 hours behind California, so that would mean East-coast games start at 6 A.M. in Hawaii.

Lol that would be fine with me. I'm always awake at 5 AM on Sundays anyway because I can't sleep when the Bolts are about to play.

I'm so used to watching the CHARGERS games at the local bar. I couldn't see myself enjoying the game and my favorite beer at 6 am.i/expressions/beer.gif

I envy you being able to fly free between the Islands and the mainland - must be *very* cool to do so!

Hilo....best island of all. Been there in 04 as well as the other Islands on a cruise. Watched the Pro Bowl in Oahu where LT was snubbed, too. :(

But Hilo has to be the most beautiful and laid back island of all (Maui second).

I spent some time in Maui, specifically Lahaina and it took some time to find a bar that showed the games other than the network games, but we found Mulligans near the theatre and it was cool, all chargers fans and 1 bronco fan. She got booed out of the place. haha. Check it out next season, it is fun and good food.

Maui is probably my least favorite island. It's always windy and there's too many kooks from California claiming they're from Maui.

Huge fan here, from way back!! Born and raised in Hawaii. Attend several games a year. Was at the Chicago game, probably go to the Texans game after the bye and the Ravens game. Agree... Hard to find genuine bolts fans out here. Its whoever is winning or whoever won the last super bowl. :LightsOut:

Howzit Chargers fans,

Anyone planning to go to the Indy game. I'll be there tailgating at the Chargers forum official tailgate.

We should start a Hawaii Chargers fan club. There's a bunch of bandwagon fans now but I think we could probably find some loyal ones out there too. We could start out by picking a place to watch the game on Sundays.

Aloha,

Wassup fellow bolthead,
Will be in Missouri that weekend, already sold my ticket. I'm planning to be at the Texans and Ravens game, hopefully. Usually hang at the Bud area or roam around. Somebody needs to start the Hawaii chapter of the boltbackers, got my membership. Give me a holla if boltheads are getting together for games anywhere:Beer:

Howzit, Hawaiian Bolt! Born and raised in Kaneohe, but now live in SD since 1996. Never had a team until I moved to SD. Now I live and die with the Chargers! My wife and I were just home a week ago for 10 days. We had to go to Big City Diner in Kailua to watch the Charger-Denver game. Wish we were still there, but happy to be in Chargers town other than Hawai'i. Shootz den. Aloha!
