John Carney was selected as NFC Special Teams Player of the Week as reported on the Saint's website NewOrleansSaints.com (http://www.neworleanssaints.com/newsroomarticle.cfm?articleid=991&sectionbanner=img%5Fheader%5Fnews%2Ejpg).

I like the job Nate has done for us so far this year, but a tip of the cap to Mr. Automatic.

I second that HOSS. Couldn't happen to a better guy. Too bad it couldn't have gone Carney-Kaeding instead of Carney-Wide Richie-Steve Christie-Kaeding

Here is another reason that I am a fan of Carney's

from Steve Scholfield of the North County Times [Redacted]

"John Carney, a Del Mar resident now kicking for the New Orleans Saints, has always been a class act. When he heard that Oregon State place-kicker Alexis Serna missed three extra-point kicks in a 22-21 loss to LSU, Carney sent him a note of encouragement."

Chargers -

You mentioned Wide Richie, and I had to laugh at that guy when I saw him drill the kick-off out of bounds last night in the Kansas City vs. Baltimore game. When you are a dedicated "kicker-offer", that I just a major choke job. We should know after having to endure that same garbage. I wonder how long his is going to last with the Ravens.

Props to John, he was, still is, and will always be a Class Act. Untill the Chargers and the Saints meet, iwish John all the best!

And then for those 3 or 4 Hours, he can start on another Record from scratch.i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

Carney has always been a class act. Even when he was low-balled by JB, he had nothing but good things to say about the bolt organization and his time here. Congrats John!

I busted up laughing when I saw that line drive out of bounds. Richey still sucks as hard as ever. i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif

Carney is definately very classy. As for Ritchie - I don't know how he still has a job in the NFL. Sure, he has a strong leg...but a strong arm didn't keep Ryan Leaf in the league! He seems to be getting worse every season...never has a man made kick-offs so fun to watch.

I always liked Carney and was sad when he was gone. I was actually very upset using a three round pick for Keading but boy did I have a foot in my mouth. I think when the season is up you might see Keading leading the AFC maybe not in total points but in percentage.
