Just wanted to stop in and see what you all were discussing about this week's game. This is a complete "must win" for the Panthers, expect them to be completely focused on getting back on track.
I'm afraid I don't know much about the Chargers. What do you think are they key matchups as far as your team is concerned?
My keys to a Panther victory:
Run, run, run some more.
Stop LT.

Of course its a must win, you guys are looking like the Raiders did after their debacle in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, we are looking pretty rough, but it was to be expected. Our first quarter of the schedule is by far the toughest. Now that it is out of the way we can get things going. I expect us to win this game and actually end up 9-7 with a possible WC spot.
Your raiders were just old man. The big difference here is Carolina is one of the youngest teams in the league, just banged up a bit. Losing Smith was a killer.

This game should be alot easier than the one we just played. Look for the Panthers to run the ball effectively and keep the scoring low.
I'm thinking 17-10 cats.

While it's true the chargers arn't yet up to Phily status, they're not washovers either. We've beaten 3 playoff contending teams and barely lost to three others.
I'm looking for Gates to get even more looks now that Reche is injured, and for Eric Parker to step up bigtime. LT will have a big game. Brees won't turn the ball over and will make some good plays.
I'd also like to poin out that our run defense has been big this year. I don't expect Carolina to be able to run the ball effectively, especially with their backs comming off injuries. Losing your number one receiver will hurt this game, but I'm sure Jake will be able to exploit Sammy for a few big gains.
I'm thinking SD will win 21-14 in another close decision

If you are going to Beat the Bolts it will not be on the Ground. You will have to do it through the air.

Like BOLTERFAN said, theres no way you going to run on us.

I wish you lived next door to me if you think you'll be able to run, run, run because I'd love to bet on that one. The Chargers are ranked second in the league against the run and third from the bottom against the pass. Your coaching staff deserves to be fired if they don't take advantage of our pour pass defense.

I really doubt that your team will try much to run on the Bolts and I don't think you'll be very successful if you try. About half the yards gained running against this team have been by QB escaping the rush. This team is very tough for the RB's to find room on. I expect that the Bolts will be the team that runs a lot because your pass defense is one of the leagues best and your run defense is #30.

Would that be because you rode a last place team schedule into the Super Bowl, and now you have to consistently play good Teams, it shows your Teams true Level?
Not to be a jerk, but after you've said this:

How can you make comments like this:

or this:

Excuse me, but you seem to be talking out of your arse. Seeing that you don't know much about our Chargers, you'd better do some research:
San Diego has the #2 Rushing Defense in the league. You guys are ranked 24th in Rushing offense. Conversely, we have the #10 Rushing Offense in the league. You guys have the 30th ranked Rushing defense.
However, you guys do match up very well against us when it comes to the passing game. You're ranked 15th in total passing offense whereas, we are ranked a mere 28th in defense (though most of the yards made against us come in the late third to fourth quarter when we've gone into prevent mode). I think we match up more evenly here (passing game) than the numbers suggest, however we have some question marks with Sammy Davis. I expect your offense to game plan with him as a major target.
You'd better hope that we sit out LT this week. Personally, I think we should start Chatman and let LT's groin heal up. Chatman is a capable back, who would be a starter on any other NFL franchise.

well put Xnet....nothing like posts that start with "I really don't know what I'm talking about.....BUT, here is what I think is going to happen."
I too am hoping that Chatman sees significant time this weekend. LT is a warrior and will start the game. I just hope that we can get out in front early so he can get some rest for that groin.

I guarantee Carolina will not rush over 100 yards. Our run defense is doing exceptionally well, the only way to beat us is to pass on our secondary. 28-14 chargers. Watch our for LT, 150+yards this week. McCardell will most likely have a 100+ game as well. this team just got a facelift, and i cant wait to see us in Carolina.

Ya gotta have faith!! The Panthers I think will be best served with a near 50/50 gameplan of running and passing... start out lighting up the secondary, then pound Stephen Davis... do whatever it takes.

davis is coming off of injury and you think he is going to exploit our D, think again my friend. We played back east last weekend, and I see a Bolt victory. Our boys leave it on the field, a sign of ture winners.

C,mon man you know it`s not very smart to say you know nada about the bolts when you call yourself a football fan, and if you think those kittens are going to run on the bolts we`re laughing at you and 1 more thing LT only stops his self, not a litter full of kittys. Get with it or we will send you home looking like bobcats.

I think McCardell will turn out to be a great pickup for you guys... but I don't think he'll have much impact this season, honestly. New playbook, new coaches, new QB (especially), hasn't been playing at all... next season, though, he could be huge.

My girlfriend lives in Denver and flies for Frontier Air and I was in Denver visiting her two weekends ago and got to go see your cats play 'my boy' Jake Plummer at Mile High.... other than that pick that was ran back for a fumbled near TD, y'all didn't have much of anything on the field...
BUT, when I was leaving DEN early Monday morning I saw a group of your "kittens" at the airport and they looked mighty fine!

I think this game is very important to us. We can't afford to lose two in a row when Denver is already two games ahead of us. This is a must win game for our Bolts and it's going to be very difficult to pull it out in Carolina. I doubt if either of our new WR's can be ready to help much in this game, so with Caldwell gone we will be somewhat shallow at WR. That leaves it up to LT and Gates and the defense. A win in this game will keep us in the running for the AFC West, a loss and we're hoping only for a wild card shot.

LOL... luckily, Coach Fox knows a bit more about the Chargers than Cardiac does...
