View Full Version : INLAND EMPIRE BOLT FANS & SOUTHERN CAL

I wrote to the Charger backers earlier this week about starting up an Inland Empire chapter, if there isn't already one, well they haven't replied yet so...
I was curious if any other Bolt fans in the Inland Empire, or No. SD county, or anywhere else for that matter, would be interested in meeting up and cheering on our Chargers as a group. It maybe a little late for this week, maybe, but for future games. It would be a great way to meet other local Charger fans, and show southern california that we do have a NFL team here. I'm tired of seeing nothing but silver and black every where I go. If interested, or if you have some ideas post them up and lets get this thing rolling.
Thanks and GO BOLTS!!!

Cool, I live in Temecula. What I was hoping for was, since the I.E. and No.Co. is so spread, what we could do is meet up at a different place every week. Visiting the same place in the different cities. That way maybe the business owners would hook us up with better prices, and asure us the game will be played for us to see. Or just pick a spot in the middle. *shrug sholders*
Like I said any ideas would be great. A good friend of mine owns a pizza place here in Temecula, but *shrug*
I would like to try to get a good number of people together, you know strength in numbers. LOL
I will keep posting stuff up

Hey Bolt bros - Trumpet Man on the bandwagon here in Lake Elsinore. Temecula Stadium pizza works good for me on away games. I may be able to pull away from the HD TV to hang with the Chargers brothers. Temecula is sort of centrally located for North County San Diego and the Corona - Hemet. Keep the fire burning and lets rock and roll ... Go Chargers i/expressions/beer.gifi/expressions/SDG_Bolt.gif

The Directv Zip Code finder says our area is Blacked Out (I live in Lake Elsinore). This area was NOT subject to the Blackout rules before the ticket guarantee so I am a bit surprised I am reading posts that the Temecula Valley will be Blacked out. So to answer your question - I am not sure. I have the NFL Ticket but I am also a season ticket holder so i attend all the home games. All you dudes are welcome to hang at the tailgaters in Section F-2. i/expressions/SDG_Bolt.gif

Great guys, I didn't see this thread earlier. So it's on for Sunday then right?
As Trumpet stated...Take 15 south to Indio/79 South...Go East (South)
Go about 2-3 miles and take a left on Margarita (it will say Redhawk Pkwy for a right). Take an immediate right into the shopping center and then take the first left in the parking lot...Stadium Pizza is located in the Northwestern Section of this shopping center just across from Albertos Mexican Food.

From Corona hit I-15 South - Exit Hwy 79 South and go East - Stadium Pizza is tucked in one of the strip malls along this road. Hwy 79 is also the same road you exit to go to the Pechanga Casino. There are TWO Hyw 79's North & South. You want SOUTH 79 not North 79 as many people gag these two exits. I may attend a stadium pizza gig but bros I have the NFL Ticket and Hi-Def at home here in Lake Elsniore. It is tough to pass up the gig at home.
Good to see you made the trek Leodabolt and Edfrsd. I enjoy your posts. I am off to San Antonio tomorrow to get ready ans see the game in person this Sunday. I hope my karma wreaks havoc on the Texans. This is a pretty cool site. Man when Roo posted his leaving I was bummed, like he died or something and then to see Roo here was like a resurrection. I was floored watching the dead walk again. hahhahaha.

Lol! I know how you feel. I live in Temecula, and there's places to go down here to watch the Bolts games with Charger fans, but it's hard to justify it when you can sit inside with widescreen T.V. and surround sound and fully concentrate on the game with a fridge stocked with Coronas and limes about twenty feet away. It's also easier to get really sh1t-faced and not have to worry about driving home. And trust me, last year, after the way the Bolts played in most of their games, I was REALLY sh1t-faced by the time the game was over.

10-26-2004, 11:43 PM
I live in Fontana and we like to shop at Sears.
But we only see raider & 49er stuff in the stores.
I talked to the manager and asked why they do not support our local team. He said it is ordered at the corp level.
So I took the extra Bolt step and called (1-800-549-4505 then press 1 for english then 5 for help). I talked to Eric
They said whats wrong? Well you have a great store and I spend a lot of $ there, but I have a big problem with Sears insulting their customers (quiet on other end) you do not sell the local team clothing here. It is like going into Sears in New York and only seeing Boston stuff or going into Boston and only seeing Yankee stuff. Well this is Inland Empire and this is Charger Country and all you have is raider and 49er stuff. We need to support our local team, they could pack up and leave like the Rams. I said I can close up my wallet and shop where I feel at home too.
If we all call the above # (I received ok to give# above before I listed this message) and let them know:
1. Sears does not support our local team (Chargers) and sells N/Cal teams
2. You were insulted by seeing others and not your local team
3. We want to shop in a store that supports our local teams (Chargers)
4. Please carry Charger Line in front and center
And tell other fans to call. It like going to the Q with the raiders playing and there are more raider fans than Charger fans.

I have been saying this for years, we are The only Southern California team. However you can't find any Charger merchandise for the most part anywhere but in San Diego. I live in Palm Springs and yet all that they sell out here is that Raider sh!t. Hell you can't even get a Jack ball out here that isn't a Raider ball. We are Southern California yet Corporate America caters to the convict Raider fans. That unfortunately is a fact, at least until we go to the Super Bowl again. Then they will jump on the bandwagon along with alot of other people will be doing. Sean Salisbury included. GO BOLTS!!!!!!!!

Funny thing is that there is this sport card collector shop on Jefferson Ave in Temecula that also seels sports merchandise. They have sports figures come in and have signings and all.. Unfortunatly, the very knowledgable owner did not have 1 single Charger sticker after looking for half an hour.. he had a whole bunch of turd and rams gear.. oh, and the only Charger thing he has was a license plate frame that was tucked in the back corner of the store.
He said he would order some, and after a few weeks I returned to the same status. Oh well.. No love for the Bolts in Temecula.

Well hello! I'm new to this message board so I'll reply to you. I joined the charger fan club due to me and a guy friend of mine talking and some how the topic came up about some of the players from the bucs team was sitting out mind you I don't know none of these guys but he stated to me that everyone was back on the team but one so I asked who and it was this guy name keenan so I did some research to find out where he went so I found him here playing for the chargers so now I'm a charger fan due to him. Since then I've kept up with the team to see the games I feel that he made a wise choice going to that team I also feel that the chargers will go all the way to the play offs my vote will be for the charger eventhough I'm here on the east coast watching. I think that chargers are great from the little time that I've been keeping up I will now buy me a jersey with # 86 on it to show support to him as well I do have a SD tshirt that I had from when I lived in OC. I also had a keyshawn jersey but when he left the bucs I put the shirt away but I still have it so I try to watch the players that leave the bucs team and play elsewhere such as warren sapp and other players. So tell me about you and this team sice I didn't see anything you talked about so I'll wait to here from you as well as continue to watch the games as it get closer to the superbowel.i/expressions/brokenheart.gif

I have found the best place in Temecula to watch the game, at least for next season. Kelsey’s, at Pechanga. They have Plasma screens everywhere, couches, 2 bars, 2 levels( i suggest using the elevator). and great food. Check it out, you wont be disappointed ! If you get a chapter going in Temecula i will join for sure.
scorpiofox39
01-05-2005, 05:48 PM
I have been to Pechanga Casino and your very right! The plasma screens, ability to watch more than one game, awesome. Even in the poker room there is games being aired. You can eat, drink or play cards and watch the Chargers every week.
Another place to watch the Chargers is in their own home, Qualcom Stadium. Purchase season tickets and support our Bolts this year and next.

I live in Canyon Lake - not far from Temecula - and my husband and I were thinking of checking out Pechanga for the game this Saturday (he's a Packer fan, but I guess he can watch with me - as long as he stops mouthing off about Brett passing the cheese torch to Drew next season!) It sounds like a good time, but how are the prices? Casino bars are usually expensive - do they run specials during the games? I really hate paying $6 for a beer!
scorpiofox39
01-06-2005, 10:34 AM
If you purchase draft beer it is less expensive but I really am not sure what the prices are. I believe they are more expensive than Pala Casino (where I work). Depending on the type of beer (Coors Light $3.75, Carona $4.25 etc...), you could expect to spend at least $5.00 per beer.
Water is free and I believe soda too. I may get lucky and get a ticket to the game. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I am very disappointed as well. I walked in to the Sports Chalet in Temecula, ready to spend "bucks" for a new sideline cap, jersey, etc. To my dismay, all I saw was "raiders" and "niners" stuff. I even found "jets" & "broncos." I simply cannot understand the reasoning or mentality.
One is usually in business to make money, right? There are so many BOLT fans in IE, why would "management," as the salesperson put it, make that decision? I had to go to Sports Chalet in Mission Valley to spend bucks on my team.
We need to band together and do as these fans are doing- Let's take that EXTRA step! Let's let our "thunderous" voices be heard in the Inland Empire- BOLT fans are alive and well out here and ready to spend money on our team.

The L.A. television DMA (designated market area) is within the S.D. Chargers market (i.e. 75 mile radius around the stadium). Temecula is a mere 48 miles from the stadium. Indeed my living room is only 47.55 miles from my seats in Section 37 (verified with Google Earth).
Because the L.A. television market dips into the Chargers' blackout radius, ALL of the LA and SD television markets are subject to blackout.
If there is no blackout then you will be able to watch the Chargers on TV if you live in the LA or SD television DMA. If you live outside the LA or SD DMA then you will be able to watch the Chargers with Sunday Ticket.
Presumably, CBS-LA (Channel 2) will carry all Chargers home games, unless they carry the Raiders game on a day in which the Chargers and Raiders conflict with their broadcast rights (i.e. not a CBS double header day, or Raider's.
Because NFL season ticket is also subject to blackout, you likely won't be able to watch any more Chargers games with Sunday Ticket than without (i.e. watching Adelphia cable in Temecula). There might be one or two instances this season where CBS2 shows the Raiders over the Chargers, which will require you to go to a local pub or sports bar (Chuy's, Stadium Pizza, Oggi's, etc.) to catch the Chargers.

Man, I'm happy to see Bolt Pride in the Inland Empire, too! I just posted in the Orange County thread. Me and the wifeee-poo (I feel ya TrumpetDude, but I'm her first hubby) go to Vegas like twice a year, and I like stopping at the Ontario Mills Mall (name?), the Victorville Shopping Mall (name?), etc. My wife's knows the exact names, since she's the shopper. I saw nothing but garbage in the sportstores. It's nice to know my fellow brethren exists in the I.E. I've heard it's mostly faider fans out there, too. This SD native will call and complain, too!!!! Maybe I'll throw in that I'm a Rancho Cucamonga resident.

Well I wanted to start a new thread but rules on the forum say you need 50 posts before starting a thread (kinda lame admin).
Anyway I live in Canyon Lake (north of Temecula) and I am watching the Chargers V. Rams pregame today on KCAL 9. Did the chargers sign some kind of deal with them to broadcast the games that arent covered with the network?
If they did that was a smart move. If they havent yet they need to make this smart move. It will help build the fanbase in Inland Empire and LA. I know the chargers want that market even if they dont move. Lets all support em and keep em in SD.
Second topic. The Orange County / I.E. Fan club sounds like a great idea but Orange county is a 70 mile hall for many of us in I.E. not to mention the 91 freeway is the bane of our lives for many of us (driving it daily to work). I for one dont want to sit on that freeway any more than I have to. We might as well drive to the the Muph.
There is an oggies in Temecula. Why dont we try and get something going there?
Anyone else interested? Its a 20 minute drive for me but if other folks are interested and no one else is closer I will go talk to the Mgr.
ps. They are lookin pretty good today in preseason.
Go Bolts!

During preseason which is now over Kcal was airing the games, and in the real season at home when there is a sell out the games will be televised all over SoCal. While they are on the road I am positive that they will get the same air time all over SoCal. The only game the Chargers were not televised all over SoCal was vs.the Texans.

GO BOLTS!!
Wow, what a winning season can do.. I recently returned to the store and they are now stocked with tons of Bolt gear. I forgot the name of the store, but I'll try and post it later.

hey fellow charger fans...what do you guys think of the new stuff fathead.com is selling?? they're pretty huge...the helmet itself is 50x54 and LT is a whopping 50x77...i was thinking about getting them til i saw the price...
$95 for the helmet (regular price $125)
$145 for LT (regular price $175)

maybe putting on the white door that you see in the above pix...i dunno?? have a lot of things on the walls already...someone mentioned ceiling area and that might work out too...and yes, the room is powder blue...the guy at home depot thought i was crazy since i had them match the color using LT's jersey...i think he was a raider fan??
anyways, i'll eventually get some kind of game party here at the house...BBQ, short ribs, rib eyes, carne asada...i'll let you guys know...

I know the feeling, yesterday I was in a mail box etc. in corona off of lincoln ave. I saw some Chargers shot glasses so i bought two of them. I guess we are going to have to come with numbers in order change things in the inland empire. Then next the world.
Ya, I'm from Corona and I got the same shot glasses with the handle at Mail Box etc. You can also get personalize Charger keys and Charger Blanket (also tailgating with water resistant blankets) at Walmart.

"Smogtana" is B4 my time here, I've live here 7 years now. We went to Dave & Buster's @ Ontario Mills once, it was full of faider fans. But, at least they were not out of control like I've heard others here describe. It would be nice to have a decent place, kid/teen friendly (we have a 13 yr old girl & 15 yr old boy, both jersey wearing out there fans), that supported the Chargers & encourgaged fans to hang out. It'll happen, one day, hopefully not too far in the future.

Family moved to RC in 1958 before I was even 1 yr old, so I have really seen the area change over the years. Still a great place to live. I like D&B's to, although it can get really over crowded at times. Finding places that are Kid/Teen freindly is the tough part. I will keep an eye out for a good / fun place in our area. Their seems to be shortage of places with good size screens. We need something like a Oggis Pizza out this way.

Red Robin on Foothill in Rancho? Is the Beer Hunter, also Rancho, just a bar or is it family friendly?

11-03-2005, 10:05 AM
Hello fellow IE Chargers Fans. Regarding finding a local fun place to watch the games, the tough part is Kid Friendly vs over 18 / 21 only. Pizza places are good for the whole family, but a lot out our way do not seem to have very large screens. Red Robbin is not to bad, but basically just a resturant with small screens. Close by is Buffalo Wild Wings, they have a lot of screens, some are plasma, and one really big large screen, but not sure if it is kid friendly ?. I here Beer Hunters is real good for watching the games, but this is a " sports bar ". Dave and Busters is Kid Friendly because of the games, but I find it way to over crowded to really enjoy watching the game. One new place I found on the web is " Boston's Gourmet Pizza " on 4th st in RC, there add claims they not only have a sports bar, but also a Kids zone. just some........ food for thought :D

I will ask my neighbor as he goes to Beer Hunter a lot. Sometimes the problem is having a screen dedicated to a specific game, keep that in mind were ever you decide to go. my co-worker went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Chargers / Faiders game, and he liked it a lot. Said the food was real good, and they do allow kids.

Just a note to let everyone know that I sent off a email to the manager of " Buffalo Wild Wings " in RC last week to see what time they open during football season. As it turns out they open at 09:00am every Saturday and Sunday, plus show the Chargers games on the big screens with sound. Could be a good spot for local fans to get together and watch the games., BWW would probably take extra steps to make it as enjoyable as possible. Good business for them in return...:)

Exact scenario you will find at a lot of sports bars. The contact at Buffalo Wild Wings is Luke Strockis. His email address is luje.strockis@sbcglobal.net, telephone 818-790-7073. They sound very much Pro Chargers to me. If we could get a IE Boosters going, they would probably have special prices, etc.

I live in Temecula. If you ever come out this way anywhere around Corona, I'd love to meet some of you. Hubby and I watch all the games by ourselves. It would be a lot of fun to meet up with others.
Sunday's game was awesome. What a treat!!!!

It like going to the Q with the raiders playing and there are more raider fans than Charger fans.
you are the manI give u much props for doing that.GO BOLTS

Im from east county SD, but currently living in Rancho Cucamonga and would like to suggest a few places with moderate Charger Fan turn out. Also, even though our season is over, I would also like to know if anyone is interested in getting together for the playoffs and discuss future plans. I missed Oggies Pizza this year but would like to do something similar next year around this area (Fontana, Rancho, Upland, Ontario, etc) Im always looking for Bolt fans in the bars, but usually just find the same ol' shiddy raider fans.
Buffalo Wild Wings on Foothill Blvd had plenty of fans this year. They have a ton of tv's, texas hold em, and kick back staff.
The Pizza Factory on DayCreek/Baseline is owned by a Charger Fan and always has the game on the Big sceen, but this is more of a family joint.
Anyone interested?

I can't wait for next season! Do you guys get together to watch the games during the season? I live in San Diego, but I usually watch the game at home. It would be fun to meet up with some fellow Chargers fans!

Next season is OUR season! So whether in the IE or big SAN DIEGO, we must outdo ourselves. Im in the Fontana area for now, so when I cant make it back home It would be great to see a BIG turnout for the games in this (or surrounding) areas. See you next season. :Bolt:

Does anyone know if they are going to play the Chargers vikings game on the LA stations tonight? Also Does anyone know a place in Temecula or Murrieta to watch the game? I called Oggis and they told me that they are going to play the NL networks NO Huddle. Which is basically excerpts from different games that are going on at the same time. Anyone know if Stadium Pizza in Redhaws is showing it? I will call when they open. Any Info would be nice.
Also looking for a single niners game ticket if you got one dirt cheap. PM me.
Hey Edfrsd,
Sportszone Pizza is off of California Oaks Rd. (across from the sportspark) in Murrieta. They have NFL ticket at several big screen tv's of the games on Sunday. Cool place to spend time watching the games. I've been there a few times and enjoyed good food/drink and of course the game. Great crowd from many teams.
Go Bolts:Bolt:
