Great Clip!

I would love to do that sometime....except I am a big sissy and I would probably vomit.

I had a great flying experience in San Diego when I was a kid. I used to leave Montana for summers in Southern Cal. I have an uncle who has more money than all of the rest of my family combined, and his boss was SUPER RICH and had a deathwish and a love of children. One week we went out on the ocean on his 90 ft sailboat and the next week I was flying in the guys helicopter all over San Diego. The pilot used to be Pres Lyndon B Johnson's personal helicopter pilot, so he was able to "show off" a bit. (which is how I know I would freak out and vomit in an F-18!)
Lots of low level, nose down flying....some crazy G force turns, a corkscrew landing -- I will never forget that day if I live to be 100 years old.
I also think I experienced the dictionary definition of "disappointment" when we flew over a "nude beach" (Blacks Beach?) and there were 4 people there.....all male.....one of them did a cartwheel......the horror!

To go flying in an F18, you have to have a Seat Certification, here in San Diego, you have to go to the Seat School out in Miramar MCAS. At work I was trying to get into that School, I was unable to get through the Flight Surgeon's Evaluation, I have been knocked unconscious a few times, and they would not give me medical clearence!

You can go to Russia, and I think it's 10 to 15 Grand, you can get a ride in a MIG - 29.

Yeah, my dad went up in a Foxbat (mig-25) trainer. They can hit mach 3 for short bursts. . .A '29 would be a much more maneuverable ride, more like the 18, but I don't recall them building a 2 seat version. No matter, I can't afford it i/expressions/brokenheart.gif

You can almost bet, any Military Aircraft that is built for 1 Pilot, they will have a trainer version, and that Plane will have 2 Seats!
