I just heard on the radio that the Chargers and 49ers agreed to a straight up trade of all personnel. On the one hand we get rid of Jerry Wilson, but there are a couple downsides. The radio didn't say if this included draft picks

I heard that the 9ers are going to sign Leaf and Whelihan and then we're going to trade our first round pick, Rivers, Flutie and Brees for these two and AJ will get some free tickets for a 49ers game next year. Who is this dude posting 49er rumors without proof?

Its true, however the radio announce failed to omit that the 49'ers are also to obtain the rights to Natrone Means
and Gil Byrd who the Chargers still have under contract through 2009.

He failed to mention that San diego is also going to get the golden gate bridge in return for the coronado bridge.

naw but I think the bridge thing is more realistic

There is truth in what you've said. Smoke usually indicates fire, and all of these rumors makes you wonder if there is some ongoing discussion.

I just can't see us trading to get an OLB. Peterson is a stud, but why not just hope DJ falls to 12 or if not, pick Merriman and address LB that way?

Perhaps AJ would consider sending PR to the niners, but you can probably bet the farm that there won't be picks going to SF along with PR. AND, we better get players and picks in return. Plus, if AJ had seriously considered trading PR, don't you think he would have signed Brees to a long term deal instead of a 1 yr franchise tag?

not true craig welihan,plays for the arena league.lasvegas gladiators. trust me on this one i saw him just 2 weeks ago.i couldn't beleive my eyes.but it was realy him..so for you where are they now buffs... he's in vegas

this is rediculas. My emotions have not been swung around so much since the nhl lockout cancelled the season. Boltneck is a "veteran" with 337 posts, so this is for real right? I hope so, we would have a stud LB core and all we lose is our backup QB.

Well as I have posted on this board previously. I hatee the idea of simply DELAYING a qb decision that must be made at some point in the future...We have a lot of money this year. Enough to build a strong offense around Rivers if we go that way OR enough to take the cap hit of trading Rivers. Now in option 1 we get JP an awesome playmaker for Brees basically. While I don't like that trade neccessarity I do like that it is decisive and makes our team better if we were going to get rid of Brees anyway. option 2 (the better option) gets rid of the rivers problem and gives us help where we need it (i.e. Braylon Edwards) (or JP)

I just browsed the 49'ers official message board, the only thing I found was an older thread where they discussed a rumor of Brees and our 2 1st round picks for Peterson and their 1st ( which is wishful thinking on their part)......their board members consider it a rumor and they had mixed idea's, no where did I see Rivers mentioned in that discussion.

BTW, any other Chargers fans in Memphis, TN?
