The Cards say that 27 percent of their fan base is hispanic and would forfeit a regular season home game. The game would take place in mexico city. Looks like margaritas for the tailgate party it is!

That is crazy....I'm just glad it isn't San Diego forfeiting one of their home games.

Really, You need every advantage you can get, and playing in your own stadium is the best, it is crazy

Can the Mexicans build a fan base of (American) football hooligans? Just a thought... Good way for the NFL to expand globally, though. What's next Asia?

Actually wasn't Toronto mentioned when this first came up last month as well? I don't think the NFL should do this with regular season games. Maybe pre season but not regular season. I guess if they have to it makes sense for the cardinals to do it since they never sell more than 30 or 40 thousand tickets anyway. I just hope San Diego never does this. I know the close proximity to mexico may make them a target of pressure for the NFL but why would you give up a home game? As the article said it will also have to effect the season ticket prices a bit too because you are only getting 7 home games instead of 8.

I could be wrong, but I think the Chargers played a pre-season game in mexico years ago (against Dallas, perhaps?). I think something like 100,000 showed up. Guess that's why Arizona is doing it...

The Chargers haven't played in Mexico, but Dallas has six or seven times. That 100,000 figure was for the first game in 1994 vs. Houston.

Nevertheless, I'd be mad if I were a Cardinals season ticket holder and lost one of my home games.

This makes sense since the Cardinal's don't really have a home yet. They play in Sun Devil stadium, which they rarely sell out, until their state of the art new stadium is finished.

If they want to give up one of their home games to play in Mexico than that's completely up to them. I just hope there are some Cardinal Fans in Mexico or else it will be just like a Cardinal's home game, empty.

My uncle is a cardinals fan and he is ticked off about this. I would be ticked off to if the chargers took one of their home games somewhere else.

I like the fact that AZ is an equal opportunity loser. They dont care where they lose:Football:

You may just have to eat those words this year. The Cards are looking pretty good going into this season.

Who would they be playing against? Do you think they'd approach the Chargers as an opponent, or do they already have a team in mind?

Go Chargers! :Bolt:

You know, the funny thing about all that is that my name is Ron and I live in Mexico! Freaky, huh? LOL

There are actually quite a few american football fans down here. Most of the teams they show on TV are Dallas, Cards, Raiders, and 49rs. Hardly ever the chargers.
The good thing is that I now have Sky satellite tv and i got the NFL Sunday ticket! They also included the NFL Network!! Can you believe that?! I am in Football heaven!
Sorry for those of you that don't have it....I know your pain. Keep the faith...eventually your carrier will offer it. :)

The NFL should just overlook that they offer to "Forfeit" this home game. Chances are they would lose the game reguardless ;)
