well ok heres mine I go to my bestfriends house and he lives out in the country. On enight we were bored as hell so we decided to go out and light **** on fire. So we hoped on out bikes and rode out to some old country rode. We were burning pieces of paper, nothing to serious. when we some something in the distance it was like some sort of light. We walked towrds it or rather rode our bikes towards it. We heard somewierd noises like mushing and mashing. We look into some old pitt and see some guy eating a human leg. OMG i almost pissed my pants. He looks up and stares right at me. My bestfriend had already hopped on his bike and was pedlaing away. I just sat thier petrified. He just kept staring at me. The adrenaline finally kicks in and i hope on my bike and ride away faster than i have ever rode in my life. I was riding so fast i couldent feel my legs. I know this story sounds bogus, but its true. I a have been in counseling ever since. Me and my friend never went back to that road ever again. I still have nightmares.

Well for about 1 month, I was a RAider fan because I liked their "logo" and "colors". But I think every young boy goes through that because they think its "cool"

We drafted Eli Manning #1 overall.

I was never an Eli fan, Big Ben and PR had better numbers than he did coming out.

I hate Eli because he gave the Chargers a bad rap by not wanting to play here.

I honestly believe that we took Eli because Alex didn't want Al to take him with the 2nd pick.

I also believe that he doesn't want to play football, he is only playing to please his jughead dad, Archie.

Why else would Archie block for him, he never followed Peyton around because Peyton wanted to play football.

I guarantee that Eli will never be in the upper echelon of NFL QB's.

After you have been through a conflagration (big fire) in the engine room during a nuclear weapons onload on board a Navy ship some 35 years ago - one finds that very little "scares" him any more....

As I have been a firefighter/EMT for 17 years, I can certainly relate similar stories and events that have scared the crap out of me at times.

Well then, that had to be worse than the fire experience.

You are forgetting about the "during a nuclear weapons onload" part - I did 24 years in that outfit and that was the only time I can remember being shaken that bad - still did the job, but I was "SHOOK" by the potential ramifications..

The Collesium "environment" was much easier to handle - I went to HS up there in "Barrio La Vadio" prior to joining the service and knew what I was getting into...

Nope - I was on a Cruiser when that happened. For obvious reasons it wasn't a subject for public release some 35 years ago - but I feel comfortable with admitting that it happened now. Everything came out OK and nobody got seriously injured/burned - but the "pucker factor" was really something. As you might imagine, we were worried about the entire region, not just US.

I served in the Army in Desert Storm, yet even though I did have a few "hairy" situations in the military, I always felt in control. Maybe it was just the training kicking in, that allows guys to do jobs like what geekster described.

Anyway, back in 1985, while still in college, I spent a semester studying in London, England. One three day weekend, on my way back to London from the Netherlands, I met a girl on the train enroute to Zeebrugge, Belgium, where I would catch the ferry across the Channel. We exchanged addresses, phone numbers, etc, and decided we would try to meet up after I finished my semester and was travelling for the summer on the Continent. She was from Liege, and studying in Brussels.

A month or so later, I found myself in Brussels. I tried called this gal, but she never answered. I toured the city and saw the sights, and went by her apartment just to check. Still not home.

So, I walked down the street, turned the corner, and there was a big plaza (open area) with a church on one side. There was also a phone booth there.

I decided to call some other friends that lived in Luxembourg, and try to make plans to meet up with them the next day. I picked up the phone, dialed the number, spoke to my friend, and ........

Five police cars came driving across the plaza straight for the phone booth. I said to my friend, "Hey, something's going down here, all the cops are about to pounce on someone. One just pulled up to me. Oops, I think I have to go."

Next thing I know, two Belgium cops grabbed me out of the phone booth, and threw me up against a short wall 5 feet from the phone booth. Two 9 mm pistols were stuck against my head.

Here I was, a clean cut US college student (soon to be an Army ROTC Cadet) with NO criminal record, and I've got Brussels P.D. yelling at me in Flemish, Dutch, German, French, and God knows what other language (I spoke very little French, some high school German, and none of the other languages). The 9mm's were still against my skull as they frisked me, and carried my ruck sack off to search.

They weren't very good, because they didn't even find my ID in my front pocket, nor my US Passport hidden in my ruck. Finally, in some language, I figured out they wanted my ID, and with one finger (I was still spread out against the wall), I pointed down towards my front pocket. Another guy found my passport.

At that point (seemed like 5 minutes had passed) they finally lowered their 9 mm's, and all but one went off to talk. I stayed pressed against the wall. I thought I probably could turn around, but I didn't want to do anything to tick them off, especially with our very limited communications capability.

Then, some older cop, with foul smelling breath, and the thickest English accent, came up to me and said .......

" Sorry, you wrong person. "

They all got in their cars and drove off.

I did notice quite an audience of gawkers. When I looked at all the lookey-loo's they all turned away.

I went to the train station and headed to Luxembourg. I shook the whole way.

BTW: I finally got to spend some time with the gal in Brussels the next week. It was worth the wait ......

In 7th grade, i played RB for my school. Two defenders hit me, and one went high and one went for my knees like a chop block. His helmet hit the side of my knee, and I just remember pain. I was taken to the hospital, and the doctor said I had torn my ACL. As with most major medical problems, I sought out another opinion. I saw two other doctors, and both said I had a severely sprained knee and ligements. The first doctor said I could possibly never play football again, and I was devestated. But after I had some tests done, it was determined that it was a severe sprain. I still had to use crutches, but I was real happy that I did not tear my ACL. A couple of people said that it looked like the play when Willis McGahee tore up his knee.

I was escaping LA on my bike after work one mid afternoon and like any other day, the traffic was backed up. I was riding between the carpool lane and the 'fast' lane. At about 45 mph, I was toolin' along nicely when I noticed a cager start to pull out of the carpool lane across the quad yellow lines. I hit the horn and started braking. He never looked over his shoulder or in the mirror cause I remember seeing only the back of his head. Too late, I really hit the brakes and horn. My bike and I slammed the passenger side of his now moving car. Next thing I know I am slide-rolling into traffic praying that I don't end up under a semi.
As luck would have it, I passed a CHP car while changing 3 lanes. Amazingly, I came up in a run and managed to get the bike before it stalled. The cop halted traffic (except the moron with a Wolf/bike print on his car) and I got out of lanes. I am truly not sure who was shaking more...me or the cop that I went past. I know I was a bit more bloody. I then thanked the wisdom my parents gave me for deciding to wear my leather jacket instead of stowing it. That saved my left elbow and shoulder from more than bruising. The road did take a nice bite out of my knees and hip and butt.
My bike took only slight damage (mirror, riding light glass, bent rear brake pedal and chewed up saddle bags). I rode the rest of the 95 mile ride home and kissed my wife. I then started looking for a job close to home.

I was taking an incentive ride in an MC-130 Talon 2, they were trying to get crew chiefs from the Spectre squadron. Middle of the night, no more than 100 ft off the deck over some nameless hills, the TFR (terrain following radar) ****s the bed. Even in NVG's you can see someone turn ghost white, lol. I stayed with the AC-130's where I painted bomb sillouettes after missions, where MC-130 crew chiefs painted jack stands for every mission cancelled.
