The last CD I bought was "Quicksand and Cradlesnakes" by a band called Califone.

Califone are the dictionary definition of the word "mellow". They use alot of random instruments and low sung spacey lyrics. The kind of music that could almost put you to sleep.

Here is a COOL GAME (http://http://www.scenta.co.uk/gamescenta/site/whatsthatsong.cfm) I posted in the "Music,Books,ETC" thread. You can type in a name of a band or a singer and it will have you pick 10 songs.....kind of like "Name That Tune". It is a fun game but is also cool for checking out new bands.....you could type in "Califone" and check out 10 random songs by the band.....for instance. The game is completely legal and the songs are only 20 second cuts.....and you cant do the Beatles because Michael Jackson wont let you (seriously, MJ owns the whole Beatles catalog!).

you should check them out if u like metal, the guitar plays at 200 chords per min...and its not like hardcore death metal.

I did the same thing about a year ago. They took a couple cd's (and my stereo), but left most of my cd's alone. The reason? I burn mix CD's, and put names like "Mozart", "Billy Ray Cyrus", names nobody wants on them. It actually works!

That's weird. I think it's one of their best. Sure, Blue Skies is great but do you expect them to play pop punk forever? You gotta move on.

I know, I know, I've heard this a million times. I actually listened to it some more today and its grown on me, but I guess the reason I like their past work so much is because of the memories I have from those songs, as well as the time period growing up. Its like that with alot of songs for me, weird.

They'll never top Blue Skies, Broken Hearts... Next 12 Exits in my opinion. but most songs Kris writes are fun.
