madden is TERRIBLE WITH RUNNING, espn is better with running. i like madden big hits, but if you notice something i did some tests with both games. in the defenseive schems, in espn the 3-4 REALLY WORKS, like.....no matter what runningback your playing against you can actauly stop the run. with madden...its terrible. ESPN OVERALL BETTER GAME. but too bad espn cant make anymore football games :(

I think they both have their strong points but madden is probably over all the more realistic football experience. I would like to see madden work on the O line run blocking though. I'd love to see the EA guys work as hard on the graphics and sound as the 2k team did though, 2k5 looked and sounded much better but madden has the better over all gameplay.

Madden is better than ESPN in every way (except price): graphics, playbook, audibles, etc. IMO

The 3-4 doesnt work against the run in madden? maybe you just arent very good considering i play the 3-4 in madden all the time and i always win averaging less then 10 points against me.

When I play madden I rarely allow over 30 yards rushing, how ever I also hardly get more than 50 lol the run blocking is that games biggest weakness IMO other than the fact that they only have about 5 body styles for the character models. Their is no reason for LT to look like a full back lol. I'll say it again ESPN had much better graphics, especially on the xbox version but over all madden plays better.

If you're talking about the most recent games, ESPN 2K5 is MUCH better than Madden 2005. The overall series? I'd say Madden is better overall, just by a bit. 2K5 was a breakthrough for its series, too bad there won't be anymore 2K games :(

espn is much more real then madden. but madden is the funner game. if people are looking for a fun unrealistic game then go for madden. if you are looking for a real football experience go for espn.
on espn legend, i play in first person mode i have very realistic stats and scores.
in madden i had 1000 yards rushing in 5 games on all madden. i had 2400 rushing yards on the year and 1200 receiving yards on the year and 34 total tds with tomlinson alone. i threw 65 tds with brees...had 150 tackles with kiel and 11 ints...this isn't realistic at all. i'm being real bout it too...madden was real fun but the game is way to unrealistic i own'd the defense in that game on all madden. there are way too many money plays in the game. with the chargers run out of split backs with 3 receivers. put gates in as the slot receiver and run the play where he runs a slant then hooks...the defense can never stop that play ever. thats the chargers money play. then run out of the i formation..and do hb slam..and hb dive...and let the defense collapse on the hole then run off the tackle...big runs every time.

I'd like to see you try to put up those kinds of stats against me online. I rate games based on online play, because offline play is not challenging enough. And Madden is much better than ESPN for online play. Graphics, playbook, audibles, etc. Now, my one complaint is the glitches. I wish that Madden would provide patches for glitches.

i don't have the online thing..its stupid....i got better things to do no offense.
espn is way better then graphics then madden u must be crazy. tomlinson looks like a 220 lb running back in espn...in madden he loooks like 250 lb fullback.
you must have no eyes...espn is much more real...it got better ratings from everyone this year...and it is the more real game. but madden is more fun to play. if a person is looking for fun go for madden. if u want real play espn.

I agree LYI I have both and it seems that I play the ESPN more because you really got to know football to get off great plays or stop great plays. Madden on the oher hand I got tired playing online and some 13 yr old kid drops back 15 yards and throws a bomb and the reciever catchs it. I would give over all game play to ESPN.
