just got home from the opening night, and I loved it! Sure made me miss football. Especially the running scenes, cant wait to see LT and Sproles break em off.

The movie is great, did a great justice to the original, go see it:Bolt:  :Bolt:

It looks hilarious! I want to see it ASAP... :Bolt: The previews are hilarious....the wannabe QB throws the ball over Sandler's head from 5 feet away!! And the huge guy asking Chris Tucker to teach him to play football and Tucker is like," I'll teach ya anything. Just don't eat me" :D :D :D It looks hilarious.

I believe you can. We do it on our high school football team. The problem is if you do it alot it desn't work.... or in the NFL's case, They know what to do in every situation

Do you mean Chris Rock? I thought it was a really good movie. I liked how Chris Berman was doing the broadcasting. Also didn't they crack a Raider fan joke somewhere along the lines?

Great movie..

Did you notice in the beggining of the movie that Paul Crewe was being chased by San Diego PD? that was kinda cool.

I agree that this was an enjoyable movie over all. Having seen the original, tho, I have to go against the grain a bit. I would definitely have cast the part of Paul Crewe differently. Sandler didn't pull it off for me. In the original, Burt Reynolds worked because he actually played ball at Florida State.

I was afraid they would smear the original too, but I think they did a great job. they ran the story lines almost parallel and put an updated touch on it. Sandler doesnt have the tough guy reputation that Burt had back in his day.

I give a 10 though:Bolt:

If I remember correctly, it was Chris Rock that was in the moive, not Tucker, but i am Sure Tucker would have done just a good of job as Rock

I watched the original last night on dvd. Of course without the original there would never been a second. Compared to the original, the second is a lot more funny, faster paced from scene to scene, and there are a lot more Stars to identify with.

The second script followed the first at times word for word. Having said that, I like the second one better:Football:

My bad..typo. I just saw Rush Hour 2 again! I always get MArtin Lawrence, Chris Rock, and Chris Tucker all mixed up. So when I talk about one of 'em, chances are I'm talking about a different person. :D

Y'know, I was worried a bit about that, too. The original version of "The Longest Yard" is one of my favorite movies of all time so I was skeptical. I mean, Burt I can see as a QB. Sandler not so much. But I do have to admit that after a while I got used to Sandler and really enjoyed the movie. Especially having Burt in there...I thought the ending with both of them walking together was pretty cool just becaue it was the original Crewe walking with the new Crewe. Overall, a very funny movie and I'd recommend it.

Fav part of the movie...
Switowsky - "I thought I was your friend, Paul."
Crewe - "You are, now shut up and finish your coloring book."
Switowski - "Okay."

How does this remake compare to the Burt Reynolds original made in the 1970s?

How does this remake compare to the Burt Reynolds original made in the 1970s?

Never seen the first one, but I'm assuming Burt played Sandler's role in the old movie. In this one, Reynolds played as a coach, who was a big factor in the final outcome. There are sooooo many hilarious parts in this movie, it is a MUST BUY. You'll be laughing every 3 minutes of the movie. Some parts are funny, sad, and dramatic.

I was laughing so hard after the guard took estrogen instead of steroids!!! ROFLMAO!!! :D
