it was a great game, indy, but we had that typical spell where we looked like crap. everyone watching was saying oh great here we go again...

it was awesome that we won, but that game was minimized immeditaley the next week when we crapped our pants.

that game had no meaning for either team as it turned out.

this game is a big playoff game

I have to disagree. That Pats aren't better than much at this point in the game and I think the Seahawks might be in for a rude awakening.

We're all entitled to our opinions though.

Well, I hate the cheating donks but I think they are one of the top three teams in football right now. They are cheap shot artists and I think their coach is a ruthless SOB. However, they know how to win and they are going to be playing extremely mean this weekend. I would be very suprised if the Patriots gave them any type of game. I like Shanahan's attitude, he got his players up for the last game of the season and made darn sure that they beat the team that gave the colts their first loss this season.

I like Marty but I wonder how this season would have gone if shanahan been the coach instead.

I like the Patriots but I think they are going to get kicked in the face by the donks pretty good.

I guess we'll all find out this weekend, I am looking forward to it, especially after the sucky games this past weekend.

I think Denver is going to be playing "run the clock out" in the 4th quater. They completely over match the Patriots, especially in Mile High. I think they will have a decent offensive game and I think Denver can successfully take away most of NE's offensive weaponary which will leave Brady looking confused. This one won't ride on the foot of Viniteiri ;).

Just one poor white man's prediction :D.

I agree. This game is shaping up to be something special from all the reviews that I have read as of late. To me at least, the AFC has had some great showdowns the last couple of years with post-season play.
Honestly, take away the hype and the partying that come with Superbowl Sunday, and I could care less. For me, my favorite game is the AFC Title game because of how competitive our conference has been in recent history.

Denver vs. New England is the best game of the weekend (Patriots by 9), the Colts are going to blow out the Steelers even though I am rooting for the Steelers. The Hawks are going to crush the Redskins and the Bears/Panthers game is going to be a poorly played fumble fest that the Panther will squeak out.

That leaves the Hawks/Panther (Hawks crush) and the Colts/Patriots were Manning finally gets to the superbowl with a 12 point win over the Pats.

Super Bowl 40 is the best game left with Alexander getting his national respect and beating the Colts 28-24 in a bruising battle that will leave us all speechless.

LOL, we've all been talking about the annual choking and how its going to happen. You know what? It hasn't happened yet, I don't know what Shanahan and his staff did to plummer but it seems to be working.

It will be interesting to see what the Patriots due to induce this "annual choking" we've been waiting for. I'm looking forward to watching this game.

Alexander gets far more respect that he deserves. As soon as he plays well in a meaningful game against a very good defense maybe ill chance my mind, but running all over the Tennessee and Houston in addition to the 3 terrible teams in that division, and doing this with one of the best Olines in the league is not very inspiring. Washington will shut him down.

Doesn't mean he can't. You said it yourself, he has one of the best o-lines in the league and I still don't think Washington is the team to stop him. Indy, on the other hand has a runs topping defense and will be the challenge that gets Alexander his props. IMHO

There's some good games on the table. The lackluster part on the NFC side, IMO.

I've only seen like one special on Shawn Alexander, but what I did see wasn't so fantastic. It appears he's getting all his yardage due to a great OL (as mentioned by some of you guys already). From what I saw, he didn't have any spectacular cuts or the ability to drag linebackers or anything. You know who I was impressed by (I hate to say) is the RB for the Chiefs (forgetting his name right now). That dude is a power runner!

Larry Johnson...yeah, that guy's a monster. I think the AFC West is going to be EXTREMELY difficult next year. Let's face it, Oakland probably won't get any worse, so they could be a factor too, or at least competitive.

but i am surprised at the number of you that feel Denver is overrated or overhyped....this really caught me off guard....you're entitled to your opinion of course...but if there was a team that would realize how good we are...it's the chargers...we are the only team to actually beat them twice this year.....

what other team in football could beat you guys twice in one season?

we are 13-3 (2nd best record in nfl) and have played many good teams this year...the skins, patriots, chargers (twice),chiefs,cowboys,jags...etc..are teams we've beaten this season...

we're 8-0 at home...only seattle is other undefeated home team....

we are #3 in points allowed and top 6 in points scored....# 2 in TO differential...

Plummer has over 90 passer rating...we are number 2 running team and number 2 against the run....in the nfl....

why is it that of all fans...charger fans are saying we are overhyped (which really makes no sense because NO ONE in the media is even talking about us) or in for a beaten AT INVESCO?..is it because you hate the broncos?

i figured if any team's fans would give us respect as a strong team it would be charger fans...

Remember, Donkos have the Mile High advantage. If this game is close at the half, Donks will pull away because of altitude conditioning. Sad to say, and as much as I dislike the Fake and Co., they will be very hard to beat at altitude. If I were Belichick I would have had my team flown into Denver ASAP after the Jags game and running windsprints the first two days in Denver to get acclimated.

I will quickly tell you my reasoning... yes you won twice ... the first time over 2 critical mistakes by us and the second time was over at again an inconsitant SD Chargers. I do not see the Pats as an incosistant team like us... the day we play consitently for 60 min will be the season we go all the way. For now I evaluate teams on their performance, heart, head coach and location.

NE vs Denver = NE (last time you played a very beat up NE team)
Pitts vs Indy = Indy (Pitts has no O)
Carolina vs Chicago = Chicago (Carolina has no O)
Reds vs Seattle = Seattle (Reds have no O)

NE vs Indy = Indy (The Dome will make all the difference in Mannings O)
Chicago vs Seattle = Seattle (Chicago's D will be strong but the O of Seattle is too balanced. Chicago has average O)

Indy vs Seattle = Indy (It's going to be a shoot out where Indy will win.

P.S. I for one believe that Indy will go all the way and win it, because the only team that can beat them is not in the Playoffs.

I give you guys a great deal of respect, you had a great season. I think the coach/quarterback combo of Brady/Belichick will trump the crowd/altitude advantage. Brady IS Mr. Superbowl MVP afterall. And they are beyond peaking at the right time.

Yes they are peaking....but what about the broncos?....we aren't peaking?

our last 3 games we've won by an avg of over 15 points.....

we have won 4 straight games.....

we have won 8 of our last 9 games.....

that sounds like a team peaking at the right time to me....throw in homefield advantage and the fact that our winning surge has come against much better opponents......and it again makes me ask why we aren't getting any love....

don't get me wrong...the pats are still the champs and deserve mad respect....my thing is the lack of respect the broncos have gotten...people are mainly going by the past...but if you just look at this season...the broncos look to be a super tough test for the pats...

Don't get me wrong...I'm a die hard Charger fan. I'm actually pulling for the donkeys to stop the Pats perfect record in the playoffs. This will be an intriguing match up between the top two coaches in the league. Mike Shanihan and Bill Belichick have won 5 Superbowls over the past decade.

I was hoping the Chargers would have the opportunity to stop the Pats in the playoffs but we didn't play well enough (difficult schedule or not). The Broncos deserve props for taking the AFC west this year. It's about time for the Champs to go down with a defeat in the playoffs. The Broncos will definitely grab everyone's attention with a victory on Saturday.

Alexander won't be getting any props from anyone against a good rush D because he isn't good enough to. There are a lot of running backs out there that are simply better than Alexander, but there is only one (maybe) with a better Oline. I havn't seen a play from him this year where he did anything special to gain yardage. If you look at him closely he isn't overly elusive, he isn't a great power runner, he isn't a fantastic receiver, and he is just not a very good blocker.

You guys can think what you want, but I'm telling you that without gaping holes he is nothing more than a 1400 yard back. Something LT accomplished with an oline about 19 spots worse and a schedule about 28 spots worse.

Pitt winning vs Indy won't have as much to do with Pitt's play as it will Indy's play - with all that has happened in Indy, and the fact that the game we played them was the last game they "really played," you're looking at an Indy team that will play, for the first half, like Indy played in the early season. The difference is, it didn't matter then, because Indy's early schedule was as easy as Jacksonville's late schedule, and because Edge is always stronger in the early season. Against Pitt, with a fair amount of rust from the bye, meaningless games, and only recently recuperated injuries, Indy will start slow. About halfway through the 3rd, Pitt's running game starts killing the clock, and Manning throws at least one 4th qtr pick in a hurry up offense freakout.

brewandgold
01-16-2006, 04:45 AM
Bump - I told you so. Down to the letter. You can even check the play-by-play and see exactly how much pitt started leaning on the run, starting in the third quarter. Ditto with the pick, except that it was inexplicably erased by refs with the league director of marketing behind their agenda. Kneel before Nostradamus.

Give me a break the broncos aren't the dirtiest team, that distinction goes to the raiders. You know what team was considered the dirtiest team ever. That would be the 49ers when the dominated the 80's. Funny how when teams start winning super bowls they are considered a dirty team.
