Since Shaun Alexander is going to want a huge contract, and Edge is about to not get signed by Indy, does anyone see Seattle franchising Alexander to move him (or else letting him go) and picking up Edge?

This occurred to me as the clock was ticking down on the 2nd worst superbowl I've ever seen.

I'm not so sure Seattle will holdon to Alexander. If they were gonna resign him then they would've done it long before he became the MVP of the league. If money is a problem for them, then I can see them going with the edge....
I think even they know that Alexander was only good because he had a great O-Line.

Good Call.

I thought the Ravens vs Giants one was worse... I just couldn't get into it at all. It was such a letdown compared to the SBs that bookended it.

Either Shaun or Edge will end up in Arizona. Then the Cards will start putting up 50 points a game. They're gonna be a defensive coordinators nightmare. I mean, next to us.

theres a claus in alexanders franchise tag from last season that prohibits the team from using it on him again. look for him toi get signed and they will use the tg on hutchison if they dont prior to feb 23rd get him signed to a long term deal.

The Cards should sign Edge/Shaun and trade their first rounder and a 4th rounder for our Rivers :)

and we lose at least 8 mil in cap room, and more cap space to Brees.

They have 15 million of cap space and thats enough to sign their own players like Steve Hutchinson, Mack Strong, and others.. So I dont think they''ll give the money Shaun is looking for which I think he''l test the market...

A few Hawks fans think that Alexander is highly overrated as well. After his mediocre (at best) proformance in the SB I think they were proven correct. The guy catches like Micheal Ricks and blocks like Warrick Dunn. They take him out on obvious passing downs. He is a pretty good runner, but his stats were highly inflated due to a weak schedule and an all-pro Oline.

I know the Hawks know all of this and they would be stupid not to trade Alexander while his value is high and bring in a decent back (or a great one like Edge.)

there was a post saying that we should sign edge or shaun but truly LT is the man we have in San Diego. He's a proven back that can win games if he gets going. The only place in San Diego that Edge or shaun will have is playing back up to LT.

I don't think anyone wants us to sign either of those two. This is about other teams signing them.

That would be dumb. Its like sying if u have Tom Brady on ur team, but u should also sign Payton Manning.
