I thought Keenan resigned with us, but on cbs as well as on other websites it has him as a free agent?
Archuletta, Woodson and Clements would be huge pickups for us. Bentley and Backus would be great O-Line additions.

Yes, he has signed with the Chargers. A lot of websites are using out-of-date information. As for Judge over at CBS writing it in his article, it just shows just how informed a lot of these so-called "experts" really are. They get paid by the number of words they write, not by the amount of truth in their words.

He did. He's locked down long-term.
CBS Sportsline got it wrong on this one. ;)

Alrite ive heard all kinds of absurd offseason moves. But here are some more reasonable moves for San Diego
Draft:Round 1-Ko Simpson(SS)
Round 2-Sinorice Moss(WR)
FA:Brandon Lloyd(WR)
Koren Robinson(KR)
Lecharles Bentley(OL)
Marlon Mcree(FS)
Trade: Drayton Florence and 4th round pick for Sam Madison
As much as i would love to c steve hutchinson, reggie wayne etc. come to san diego it just isnt gonna happen.

1.) Hutchinson plays guard.
2.) We don't need to add 3 WRs, we likely don't need to add 1.
3.) You don't address OLT, the only line position we NEED to improve.
4.) Moss is a top 40 pick, and won't fall to pick 51.
I'm split on the Madison trade, we don't need Marlon, and the only things I completely agree with on are that we won't get Hutch or Wayne and that we should draft Ko at 19.

Um, absurd would be getting 3 new WRs and two new Safties. Plus all those FA pick-ups would kill our cap room.

If we could grab Hutchinson and at least one of those D-backs listed i would consider it an absolute successful free agency for us.:Football:

We won't get a chance at Hutchison. The Hawks letting him hit free agency would be even crazier than the Chargers allowing Brees to hit free agency.

Dont we use almost all of our cap room every year? As I remember hearing we do, but since we load some of the guys up at the beginning, we end up coming out smelling like roses. I can think of one example recently where we did this with Mike Scifres, gave him a nice contract, but it was front-loaded so it only affected the salary cap. I think we will end up using a lot of what we have this year, and come out again next year looking good. In all reality we did this with Phillip Rivers as well, his base salary is something like 600k this year.
So big name FA's are not out of the question, but still unlikely because we dont overpay, nor should we. Theres nothing I despise more than a guy who gets a huge contract and flounders around while raking it in. I think we will make the smart decisions, and improve the team with some lesser known talent, and make stars out of them.

ok Joe I agree a little but letting hutch go is 100% not happening and we might let brees go via sign and trade or cash... arm worries...hutch ahs no such concerns he is a lock!

Florence and a 4th for Madison sounds like a great move for the future of this ball club. You have to be joking me. a pick plus a 25 year old for a 31 year old corner. Trust me this won't happen and that is a good thing. Jammer and Florence are solid corners don not mess with them. With the possible loss of fletcher who I like we need some solid depth never have enough corners but don't unload good young corner Florence for older more expensive Madison.
