Just heard on espnews that the raiders will not use the franchise or the transition tag on him. Also the 9ers will not tag julian peterson. What u guys think are the possibilities on them coming here and could we use them?

Charles Woodson would be a great fit here. He's a hard-hitting super CB and will have some info on the enemy. We should go for him if he's healthy.

btw: shouldn't this be in the FA section?

If he is healthy and if he will work out a cheaper contract. I wouldnt mind him as a safety. I know he would want to try hard and pay back the team that burnt him. Peterson may be a good fit.

I agree. He played better at safety than corner, and he'd be a ball hawking/har hitting FS. He wants too much money though most likely. There's major injury concerns with him too.

Both players have been somewhat injured the past couple of years. But if it doesn't cost too much, bring em in and see where they stand. And if they aren't up to par during TC, then cut em.

Both great athletes. Although I don't see the Chargers going out and getting Julian especially not knowing the price he's asking for and the fact we got Merriman and Foley.

Charles Woodson would be a good fit here though as someone said above.

From what I've read in the past, Woodson demands a high price. I would love to have him in the backfield if he was willing to negotiate with the team. Woodson and Law would be a fantastic fit. As for Julian- why not?

I still think we need to focus on O-line and Secondary. And of course, keeping Drew...

Charles Woodson may be expensive but I think one of the best cornerbacks in the game should be. With 25 million in cap space, AJ says he wants to get a standout in the secondary. With Woodson or Ty Law our defense is greatly improved. Let's get one of them!!!

Isn't Woodson represented by the Postons?

We dont need petersen not this year plus he will ask for more than chargers are willing to pay as for woodson. I would rather take law than woodson he has had better last couple of years 10 picks last year and is a super bowl winner will add leadership back there

Law is looking for a big contract. Woodson probably is looking for one too. But considering the time woodson has been off the field for injuries, he probably won't try to break the bank like Law is going to do.

Either one would be a nice addition. But I would rather the Chargers get someone for the oline first. Bentley to be exact.

I don't know about u guys but I don't want any former raiders in a charger uniform especially an icon like woodson, he was basically the face of the franchise for a couple of years.... no thanks, i'll pass on woodson

Edwards was an olb on the Cheifs but converted to ilb in the 3-4. ilb's in the 3-4 have to be able to play the pass and able to be sideline to sideline. Being able to play the run inside the tackles is a plus. So I think Peterson would be perfect next to Donnie and maybe one day be his replacement if he could learn to be healthy.

Charles Woodson is a risk. I don't think he has the level of playing football as before. Julian Peterson is a a good fit for inside linebackers. Since. But I prefer having Shaun Phillip take over for Randall Godfrey. (Age wise and quickness.) Good Linebacker corp for chargers dept chart would be Foley and Merriman on the outside and Edward and Phillip or Cooper. But if they do have interest in Julian Peterson then they would be dangerous. Oh I also my consider the possibility of acquiring John Abraham from the Jet. 2 good upfront end and one good DT. Jamal William, Luis Castillo, and John Abraham. On the secondary. Switch Jammer on Strong Safety. He will be explosive. Jammer has the power to tackle, quickness and see the ball well when not guarding a receiver. Draft a cornerback. or sign Ty Law. but Ty Law is a risk also. His injury. Tomlinson Juke him last year and he was not able to keep up with L.T. Bad knee. Salary cap too. I doubt he will go back to New England.

both of these guys are risky...

woodson has been injured a lot lately... and peterson performed at a level of how you would expect someone to perform coming off a knee injury. <-- while still above average... i think his asking price would be too much.

I would like to get them both for the right price. Woodson is still an elite corner and Peterson is a good LB. He would be able to move inside and would give us good depth for when Godfery is gone next year.

Peterson is 6-3, 235 and would be perfect as an ILB in the 3-4. He's built just like Edwards (6-2, 227) and Godfrey (6-2, 245) and is 5 years younger than both (turns 28 later this year).

So all I'm really looking for in FA is:

Julian Peterson (ILB)
Bentley (C)
Hutchinson (G)
Fabini (RT)
Hope (FS)
Archuleta (SS)

Not too much to ask is it?
