Actually, Seattle still has the option to rescind those I think. Any moves that were still on the wire yesterday could be rescinded.
Dyson would be nice at the right price. He's been pretty solid his whole career, back to his days at Tennessee.
He signed a big deal last offseason, and now he's cut. What does that tell you? Don't go overpaying for free agents. Now Seattle has some dead money on their cap.
I would take Dyson and let him battle for the#2 CB

I am all for guys who have played in the 3-4, and the more ILBs the better. For me though, Sharper has had some major injuries, is getting older, and probably isnt worth taking too long a look at IMO.
I hadnt seen Sharper since he was a Texan, so I had to look him up when I saw he was released.....I think I would take a pass on him.

Its the competition AJ was talking about. Lets stir up something in the secondary.

Take em both. I think Dyson could take the #2 spot easily.
Sharper has a lot of good years in him.

Sharper is 32 years old, missed half of last season with injuries, and had 29 total tackles, O sacks, and 0 INTs.
Besides the fact that he has experience in the 3-4, I wouldnt even look at him twice at this point.

I think Jamie Sharper had the most tackles a couple years ago, and I think Edwards was right behind him. I bet Sharper could fit in with the defense.

We already have "talented but old and on their way out soon" type ILBs...this is the time to get a young prospect to learn from Edwards and Godfrey while they are still here. Greenway's bench press and 40 time almost guarantee that the guy will be available at #19, and the Bolts have checked out A Schlegel who could be available in the 5th....there is alot of time and alot of opportunities to fill the need at ILB with allotted money and with a young guy.

So Greenway stock dropped? We'll thats a good thing. I would love the guy to drop to us.

From Al Fronczak-
Heading into the NFL Combine last week there was a general consensus that Ohio State Linebacker AJ Hawk and Iowa's Chad Greenway would be the top two 'backers to come off the board on April 29th and both were considered sure- fire Top 15 picks with the chance to crack the Top 10...well the Combine may have altered that thinking just a bit...Chad Greenway who we thought (and pointed out in our 02/10 column) would enhance his stock at the Combine didn't hold up his end of the bargain...Greenway performed pretty well in the drills... but his forty time of 4.72 was less than desireable in the Scouts eyes as he was expected to run somewhere in the 4.5's...to ad injury to insult...Greenway was only able to lift 225 pounds 16 times in the weight room which is also considered below par for a man of his size...not to say that Greenway will fall out of the first round...but unless he drastically improves his time in the forty at Iowa's Pro Day workout...Chad could slip behind Ernie Sims of Florida State on some team's boards.
Time will tell, but I would take that as a good sign that he would be there for the #19 pick. I am still all about an OT or a DB, but Greenway would be very hard to pass up if I was AJ. (BTW...I am not AJ and my lawyers say I cant claim to be him anymore for "legal reasons")

Yeah, we have a solid LB group. We do need to get young talent there. No need to bring in another one of the types we already have. Unless you see another Merriman.
Dyson is nice, but there are nicer DB options out there.

The only one that we probably have interest in is Andre Dyson. Sharper is ageing, even though Dyson has some years on him it would be better to get him rather than Ty Law (who is in his 11th season).

I like Dyson more, and having a rotation of capable ILBs would keep our Defense fresh- Wilhelm was good last year, Cooper was solid, but would you say that if we brought in a Jamie Sharper or Willie McGinist (other thread) that they are better than anyone we got? Id say so...

Check your facts guys. The last two season dyson missed a whole season combined with injuries. Just like his brother kevin, the two are very fragile. No thanx.
