I guess the recent Quentin Jammer thread sparked a memory in my head about an event that happened to me about a year ago.
Right now I'm a sophomore in College in San Francisco while I'm originally from San Diego. Last year (Freshman year) I was attending a small conference for my psychology class to earn some much needed credit and during the major presentation I get a phone call from my father (this was about 7 pm). I quickly assumed the phone call was just from my Dad asking how I was, so instead I didn't answer the phone and kept on taking notes and focusing on the presentation.
About a minute later my father calls again so I figure something important must be going on for my father to call me twice in 1 minute, so I step outside. I missed the call but I listened to the message saying to call immediately. I call my Dad and I ask him "what's going on?", all he tells me is that I was a "minute too late." I ask him why and he explains to me that he was just got out of dinner and that he was eating with a football player. I ask who it was but my dad is infamous for screwing up names so he tells me"...yamar...lamner...oh he's from San Diego....JAMMER! THAT'S HIM!"
I'll just type the conversation the best I remember it from there:
Me- "You were at dinner with Quentin Jammer?"
Dad- "Yeah, him and his Wife. Nice guy, he was using my phone about 2 minutes ago to call you."
Me- "THAT WAS JAMMER ON YOUR PHONE CALLING ME!!!"
Dad- "Yeah, you should have answered. He had to leave though unfortunately. He left the restaraunt already. He loves to talk to the fans, he also told me thanks for your support."
Me- "You'll never see him again will ya?"
Dad- "We'll see him again, you'll meet him one day, Him and LT. I told him about how you wanted their signatures."
From there I was shaking my head all the way to the dorm room. If there was one positive spot form this whole story, I got an A in psychology thanks to the conference. I wonder what I sohuld have told him had I answered that call.
Just wanted to share my experience from a year ago, hope you enjoyed it. (Yes, this is all true btw).
