I think we should have tried to get woodson since we needed help at the position and use the draft to pick up some o line help. I think that offensive linemens strait out of college can step rite in and help the team and cb/db take longer to adjust to the NFL (jammer) History shows that the chargers are not lucky when picking a db/cb on draft day (Jammer/Sammy/Godfry). Maybe we can try to get that other guy that made it to the pro bowl whats his name ? Ty Law ?

what do u guys think about this??i think he's pretty much a failure since the tuck rule, and i couldn't care less that we didn't land him.

he's missed so many games over the past 4 years.

When he's healthy he's a decent player, problem is he's injured so much he doesn't get a chance to show his abilities.

They would have done much better to sign Rod Woodson IMO.

Besides Law and Madison, I think that getting a first day CB is a better option than picking up any of the other FA CBs.

Charles Woodson is made of popsickle sticks and glass....wait until he out playing in Lambeau at -10 degrees......

In the days leading up to the draft, speculation isn't the only thing flying around. So are big deals.

Green Bay reached an agreement with Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Woodson on one Wednesday, a seven-year, $52 million contract that will pay out $10.5 million in the first year and $18 million over the first three years.

That's an awful lot of money for a guy with the recent injury history that he has.

Igor - I think Madison signed with the Giants way back at the start of FA.

How'd C-Wood net that much cash? Don't FAs that sign later with teams generally have to sign for a lot less?

Sounds like the Pack's desperate to kiss Favre's booty and make him come back and win a little...

I'll be shocked if he plays well in GB. The climate alone will do him in. At least he's getting paid.

Nope. I prefer to stay in Bama for football season. How else would we make it to all those Alabama home games? We are making an exception this year to fly out to SD for a game. But I can guarantee you I will never be flying out to Green Bay for a game. Brrr!

Did you forget his college was Michigan? He knows all about playing in the cold.

Yes, I did forget. Guess that climate excuse won't work for him, then ...

I still remember Woodson's blitz on Tom Brady in that snow game for a forced fumble but instead was called a forward pass...worst call I've ever seen in quite sometime that really changed the game and their fate much like the Steelers and Polamalu's "rolling INT" last year (not that that was the only gamechanging play out there but that was one of the worst officiating I've seen and at least they overcame it and went to the big dance).

Cold weather will have no effect on him.

Any call that goes against the Raiders, can't be a bad call.

It does in Michigan though. Woodson knows all about playing in the cold. Besides, the effcts of the cold is way overrated. Woodson is a superb athlete. He's not going to morph into Joe Sixpack because of a temperature drop.

It's more likely that his style of play will make him more effective in cold weather. When a WR is in a pass patter when it's cold, windy and snowing, he's not going to be looking foreward to receiving a big hit from an aggressive hitter like him.

a superb athlete who has missed 22 games in the past 4 years

mr workers comp will probably shrivel up and crap out in GB too

guy's been a failure since the tuck rule.

Spoken like a long time Charger fan. :)

I remember when that happened I thought "good pay-back for the holly roller game". I still want to see the Chargers win a game against the raiders that they didn't deserve to win - one just as lucky and wrong as Stabler's fumble at the goal line.

Leaves them with less money to sign Javon Walker, or Donnie Edwards in a trade with us. Means we might be able to get Javon without trading Donnie.

Eh, I agreed with the whole forward pass call. Officially, the rules say that if the hand is moving forward when the ball comes out its a forward pass. It doesn't say that the QB has to 'intend' to throw the ball. The officials were observing the rules as they were written.

In my opinion the worst major call has to be calling Matt Hasselback for a "low block" while making a tackle. I don't know if this was game changing, but i can't imagine how a ref could have screwed up a call that badly, in the superbowl no less. Every other bad call I can at least explain how the ref could have made a mistake. I can't figure out where the ref could have gotten a low block out of that play.

What about the Polamalu overturned interception vs. the Colts? what do you think about that call?
