Reggie Bush appears headed for a holdout, one that could last the entire 2006 season, Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reports.

It seems unlikely the Saints will do that in time for Bush to report to training camp with the team on Thursday in Jackson, Miss. Two sources said that talks between the Saints and agent Joel Segal have been nearly non-existent.
On Wednesday, Mike Ornstein, who is Bush's marketing agent, told the Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss., that he didn't think Bush would be signed in time for camp. Ornstein is not allowed to negotiate contracts, but he is acutely aware of all of Bush's business matters.
One of the sources took that a step further, saying Segal was considering not having Bush sign at all. Segal declined to comment when contacted Friday and messages left with multiple members of the New Orleans organization weren't returned.

So he could still end up in San Diego! Yay! ;)

They'll get a deal done before PS. All scare-tactics by Bush's agents.

Or another LaDainian Tomlinson ...

or another Quentin Jammer ...

Rumor is that Vince Young is going to sign for a similar contract as #1 pick Mario Williams.

Poor Drew in NO. It's going to be a disaster over the next five weeks. :(

I wonder how the local fans will take it. He seems so eager to help the community and now articles like this fill people heads with speculation that he not going to play.

Some people take "hold outs" as not wanting to be with the team.

My money is on him missing a preseason game. Since his position doesn't "require" training camp, it won't hurt him too much.

a league source said Bush is toying with the idea of sitting out the entire season and going back in the draft in 2007 if he doesn't get his price.

I'm a huge Reggie fan, but who the hell does he think he is?

Even though I think people are over-reacting too soon.

Reggie is on crack if he does that! I would take that number two money in a heart beat. He is not guaranteed to go number 1 in 07 anyway, he might end up going below # 2 if he sits out the season.

If he wasn't the #1 pick after winning the Heisman there is no way he'll be #1 after sitting out an entire year. I'm sure its all just tactics but his agent is a fool for making such bold statements.

I'm a strong believer in preset rookie contracts. If your really worth the kind of money you are holding for you'll show it and earn it in 3 years. The NFL really needs to address this yearly problem.
