Your thoughts......
I'd go with either Mangini or Payton
But I also think Marty should get some consideration, I think he should end up third or so...:LightsOut:
Sean Payton; the Saints' turnaround this year has been phenomenal.

I was thinking about this today, but I also think Mangini is strong too, the Jets turnaround has been pretty impressive too, they play in the AFC. Both teams had similar records last year, but the saints had two big off-season pickups in Brees, and Bush. The Jets pretty much had the same people they did last year

Jeff Fisher should get some consideration as well, with the whole Volek situation, he looked like a man beat and ready to leave Nashville.

Fisher. The Titans were 0-5 and are now 8-7. I can only imagine what our record would be in the NFC. The Titans have had the toughest schedule. Mangini has had a pansy schedule.

Sean Payton. He did to the Saints what Marty did to the Chargers in 2004.

If the NY Jets make the post season, Mangini definitely deserves it... He's done a great job of making his players adapt to the 3-4 defense, and has pretty much gotten the Jets this far without a HB.... If the Jets don't make the playoffs, Sean Payton will win it.
Both of those guys really deserve it.

The 3 main candidates HAVED TO BE:
Jeff Fisher of the Tennessee Titans - He's been around for awhile, and has improved his team from (4-12) to (8-7) WITHOUT MUCH TALENT ON HIS TEAM.
Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints - He's a first year coach, and he improved his team from (3-13) to (10-5) WITH A LOT OF TALENT ON HIS TEAM.
Eric Mangini of the New York Jets - He's a first year coach, and he improved his team from (4-12) to (9-6) WITHOUT MUCH TALENT ON HIS TEAM.
I would have to say Jeff Fisher because he has the least talented players, Sean Payton has Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Marques Colsten and a few good players on defense. Jeff Fisher only has Vince Young and a few good players on defense. The reason most people say Sean Payton is more about Hurricane Katrina, that's why his turnaround season seams more magical, don't be confused, just look at the teams and base their tournarounds by talent and who did it with less talent and I would have to say Titans.

Sean Payton.....though I had not watched the Jets until tonight, Mangini seems impressive...but he had a bit more to work with than Payton.
Marty has done super, having your job hanging in the balance seems a powerful motivator!!! ( Though I don't think it should've been, that just is the reality)

Sean Payton or Eric Mangini.
Marty has been great, but I gotta hand it to Payton and Mangini. Both are VERY deserving..

How did Mangini have more to work with? Name one great player on his team? Or even some good ones?
I bet all you can say is Chad Pennington.
On the other hand, the Saints have Drew Brees an MVP candidate and Deuce McAllister + Reggie Bush wich has to be 3 times better than whatever the Jets have.

Sean Payton. In molding a team, he has helped to bring a city back to life, though none of the 'experts' picked the Saints higher than the bottom of their division before the season began. Hindsight makes it easier to try and say it was no big deal with their talent, but it took great coaching to bring the talent out of a team that consists of a lot of 'cast-offs' and rookies.
Marty
Payton
Mangini

Yes they did. With Fisher as the HC. Putting Young in at QB 4 weeks too late doesnt make him COY. It makes him stupid for thinking his team would be a contender with Collins at QB. This team would have been better served to have Young at QB from day one.
I like Fisher. I think he's good coach. He aint COY this season. He started Collins for 4 weeks.
