Sorry I just had to get this vent out about my furious attempts to book travel as the NFL Schedule came out yesterday morning.
As soon as the schedule came out at 10:05 am, I was on the phone with the Hilton booking Green Bay. Mind you I am 75+ nights a year so they give me a room even if its sold out unless its marked "extrodinary demand" which is when there is a big sporting event in town or convention. They already had that weekend in Green Bay marked and the reservation concierge admitted that the NFL sends the Hilton the schedule a week in advance. She says they do this so that people who have what they call override privileges (75+ nights a year) don't jam the lines and oversell the hotel beyond return before they can put it "extrodinary demand" on there when the schedule is officially released.
Other than the teams setting up their travel to secure there rooms before the schedule is released, the hotels should have to wait like everyone else to know the schedule.
I guess this is only important for somewhere like Green Bay where the Hilton Garden Inn is the only decent place in town but its the Fairfield for me.
