That's right Star Wars fans --- on this day (May 25, 1977) in a theatre far, far away :p one movie changed the face of the movie industry forever and remains a pop culture phenomenon to this day!
Hard to believe it's been 30 years already, but it has! Today marks the 30th anniversary of perhaps THE greatest sci-fi adventure movie in Hollywood cinema history!
So all you diehard Star Wars fans (and geeks) grab your toy lightsabers, throw on those Darth Vader costumes (yes, that applies for you silly Raider fans too) and pay homage to an all-time classic!
Oh yeah, and...
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

Aww, thanks Bueno! It's just that times like these make me feel like a kid again (*cries*) :p
And I wonder if that's the Grauman's Chinese theatre where they're showing that SW marathon. It wouldn't surprise me.

It was shown upstairs in one of the ballrooms at the LA convention center. It's $45 to get in. The lines snake around the building, but it moves fast. Almost all the actors from the original movie were there. Today is the last day of the six day event, so check it out while you still have a chance.

Nice... except for that admission fee, lol. I thought they'd be showing it @ the Chinese theatre since it's a Hollywood landmark. Even nicer if they showed it @ the old Pacific Cinerama Dome (dunno if it's still there or not) Would be cool to see it on that big surrounding screen like in IMAX form w/ surround sound

Us geeks feel old when we remember that it has been 30 years since the debut of STAR WARS, nothing but STAR WARS ahem you know the people at Qualcom should play the evil empire when the faiders come to play and quote Darth Vader when LT is on the field with the lines "The force is strong on this ONE"
NAHHH too geeky.

I think the "Imperial March" theme would sound fitting when our guys march out onto the field (like they mean business!) Then play Darth Vader's breathing sound effect when they show a close-up of LT's face :p

The Chargers as the Evil Empire? Doesn't seem right, The Dark side leads to fear, fear to hate, hate to suffering.
