Thats right...........I forgot about that fishing trip you were on. I think all will agree that the sigs gotten in person will always mean the most. As someone mentioned earlier, those are stories we will always have to tell.

I wish I was just closer to San Diego to attend many of the functions had.

I've always wondered and might consider this when im like rich with extra money to throw away (lol)...someone should pimp out a dodge charger...

get a blue one, get charger bolt decals on the sides. add a "s" to to the "charger." replace the emblem with one of them throwback charger shields. tint the windows and have some a big bolt decal on the back window. on the hood, add a shield or a giant 21. and on the back bumper put "chargers"

what do you think? oh yeah, for rims, make sure theyre colored with alternating gold, blue, and powder spokes.

My Favorite 2 are my Muhammad Ali signed boxing glove and an 18x24 signed poster of Joe DiMaggio. I got pictures with them both, (Ali's fist is on my chin!!) I started collecting when I was a kid (1990) and growing up in NY, so many of the old time greats came around. Joe D. was $30 and Ali was $50 (the most I have ever paid)
I have NEVER sold any of my stuff (gave a few away has gifts) and I think that I have a decent collection

And with all the going back and forth with everyone, kind of like a soap opera ... wish it would stop, but I do understand everyones side

My Xmass wish: That everyone would thank Random Task for all the hard work he does, A LOT MORE SIGNING :helmet , a great year for the thread, LT to come around and at one of these free signing they would hand out numbers or wrist bands so others can't cut!!!

Thanks again for all those who keep me updated on player signings!!!

GET BACK TO ME!! MODERATOR PLEASE STEP IN...I'm here to make friends and get autos not slam people i don't know...THAT'S it...MEANS BUSINESS- WRITE ME BACK ABOUT THIS

Large-
I don't think he meant to do that... if you change just a little bit of code (like where certain brackets are) when trying to string all those comments together you can come up with a false name like yours was...

I don't think it was intentional...

Hi there guys ... lets see who here has the heart ...(YES AND SOME TIME TOO) ... now WE can give back!!!
The Toy Drive lasts all day but if you go from 4-6pm San Diego Chargers including Kassim Osgood will be joing them! You need to have a new unwrapped toy or monetary donation to meet them!!

3951 Murphy Canyon road at the Price Self Storage until, they are looking to collect 75,000 toys for Rady Children's Hospital!

(and if anyone starts a new board {ie Meanz} please put me on it)

Hey guys, I guess from reading the past few days on buying autographs on ebay is pretty much frowned upon. So I guess I'll try to get as many autographs as possible before christmas for my fiancee. Here's my question, what should I buy him a Football, helmet or a jersey? A fast response would be great so I can start collecting tonight or at tomorrow's signing. And if a secret signings list is created, please add me to it. I'm not a pro just a girl trying to get her guy something great for christmas. Obviously the more autographs on it the better

Just got back from the Toy Drive and I only saw Osgood. One of the 93.3 guys said that Luis Castillo will be at the Toy Drive on Wednesday starting at 5:30PM ... please call the station to confirm, but that is what I heard

While buying off Ebay is generally risky, and it DOES keep counterfeiters and unscrupulous sellers in business, it's not entirely bad. I've bought a couple of autos on Ebay, but only Upper Deck Authenticated signed cards. I won't buy anything with a separate Certificate of Authenticity, since those are easily copied and/or forged.

Obviously your best bet is to get the autos yourself in person, but that can be time consuming and expensive. On the other hand, you KNOW it's authentic if you're getting it in person, and you get that invaluable minute or so with the player.

I'm so sick of everyone saying dont talk sh*t online and then in the next sentence talking sh*t. The next signing I go to which will probably be tomorrows I want anyone who has a problem with anyone on here other then idntsellautos, to come and say something to my face, pleassssse I would love for you to be hardcore in real life. And how did MB ruin the hotel because he didn't stay in "the box"? You dont think other people around ever see that there's players at these hotels and have no ideas of the rules? I seriously doubt that the hotel staff cares that much that a little kid went up to some players outside of the box, if the players didn't want to sign they could have said no. Stop being little babies about everything, nobody cares what you guys do, MB also already stated that he's not a pro so why would he have over 50,000 autos? You "pros" do whatever you want, and let us do whatever we want, please stop talking sh*t on everyone, if you have anything to say about me or anyone else on here wait till you see me and then if your p*ssy doesn't hurt anymore come say something to my face and see what happens army ranger style.
Seriously everyone needs to just have it out, whether it is behind the computer or like mr army ranger wants to do just brawl. Seriously, you've been on here talking smack and threatening people more than a few times, and whether you beat the crap out of someone or it happens to you what's it going to solve. So you go to this Cooper signing tomorrow, all hyped up and you take a swing at someone. Then what? All this is magically going to stop? You could get in people's faces and scream at them, but really what would that do? I'll tell you one thing, if you even touched me, I would sue you so fast your head would spin. But you wouldn't be the only one, as I'm sure the Chargers would have some responsibility for this given the fact that they let you plan it out on their message board. That wouldn't be a bad gig for me at all. Unlike mr pizza delivery guy, being somewhat intelligent and educated goes a long way. So please, take a swing at someone, anyone, and I'd love to help them upgrade their car.

i don't post on here often but i just wanted to give my two cents. this thread was meant for us everyday joes to come on and share out autograph collecting. of course some of you turn things for profit but yea, do that on your own time and don't come on here bad-mouthing everyone and getting this thread locked. i'm in college and the only way i can possibly hear about these signings is through this website. i'm not rich at all and just having the few autographs that i do really makes me happy. i've met meanz twice and even though he doesn't really know me i can tell you that he's a good guy. so what if he does things that you pro-sellers don't like because you're just jealous that he gets the ones that you weren't able to. it's not like he competes in your ebay market because all of his stuff is at his house. in the end he get's his auto's and you get yours so stop the thread bashing and get over it.

12-10-2007, 10:06 PM
Seriously that's not the problem. Post any public appearence you want on here. Shoot, you all should go to those and interact with the players and get whatever you can, and then do whatever you want with it. The problem is posting information that should not be made public. Little tricks of the trade that are gold when there's only 5 people there and mush when 20 show up. That's the problem. Public appearences, great. Autograph opportunities that are planned where fans are supposed to be there, fantastic. More power to you. I haven't been doing this as long as others, but I tried to get the Colts and the Ravens and, just like others have said, it was a colossial waste of time. I wasted probably 10 hours that I could have spent being productive, for pretty much nothing. It seems like the large crowds and the differing groups are causing all sorts of problems.

Enough with the bashing, threats, insults, and eveyone's opinions. Unless you are posting info about an upcoming Chargers signing, use PM.

Thank you.

mbxiincompetent
12-10-2007, 10:21 PM
MB... First of all you are the one that ruined the hotel for the Ravens. You are the only one that had a kid with a full size helmet and you obviously were there because we saw the pictures of your helmet. You stated that you didn't go inside, and once again that was the problem. You didn't stay in the designated area and for that reason you ruined it for everyone. Buy maybe thats too complicated for your simple mind to comprehend.

Secondly...why would any of the pros give you any information. You say that these people are only there to make money so why would they tell you anything. Nobody comes to your job and asks you how to do it. Even if they did, you wouldn't tell them since then they would be able to take your job.

Third...If you don't want the pros to find out any of the information that you feel is so valuable then don't post it on a website. Its just that simple. But once again maybe too complicated for you. If you really believe in your simple head that the pros come on here to learn about signing and things like that your out of your mind. How on earth did they get all of those autographs to sell before you people came on here and started your little online buddy group to try and get information out to the normal people. Oh wait... they already know all of the information and a lot more. Thats why they all have over 50,000 autographs and you don't. Why don't you all just get a real life and make friends the old fashion way by going out and meeting people in the world. You all like to hide behind your blogger names. Its really funny how you talk all this stuff on here and don't say a damn thing to anyone anywhere else.

i would say hell yes. i would get a custom jersey made rather than do that, or go buy a football or mini helmet

I like the way the Mini Helmets look, but if you want multiple people on it, id say a full size helmet. I just picked up 2 mini helmets on my lunch break since they were on sale for 20% off at sports authority. as for a full size helmet, i dont know where to get them other than ebay.

Thank you for the helpful suggestion. I'll stop by a sports authority store at lunch time and buy whatever helmet they have. Is a mini helmet like really small? Sorry for the question. If it's really small I will buy a football or a big helmet. I hope to go the signing later tonight so if you fellows see a young girl looking lost, please point me in the right direction. Just from reading on here there are obviously some people willing to help and others to avoid. I hope to find the helpful ones

AztecMaverick
12-11-2007, 11:15 AM
they are approximately half the size of a full size helmet. they are great for display pieces. if you see them there, buy a couple because the sale is only until saturday

there's a sports authority sale??

Or even full-size helmets?

Wow, that signing tonight was very easy. I got there late, but I just want to thank the few of you that stayed around and answered all my questions especially means? Sorry, your name escapes me but you know who you are. Thanks for the helpful pointers and the next few upcoming dates. From all the information you were willing to share, you certainly aren't one of those shady people that everyone's been talking about. Are all signings just as cleanly ran? From all the talk, it seems that the weekend signing is the big one. I'll be there for sure and try to make it by 1pm

Hi, I just got back from the Gates signing. It was smooth sailing. Pretty fast, aside from the 3 hour wait LOL. I wish I would of said hi to some of you guys, but I was kinda shy of asking who you guys were. I was the short, yet handsom, mexican guy with my daughter, she was the little girl with curly hair. I had the full size helmet with me for antonio to sign. I was towards the beginning of the line. Next time you guys see me say whats up. Im always up to meet new people.
PS. I was wondering what is the best marker to use on a authentic on field helmet? Is a sharpie ok?

There's my favorite "autograph" seeking NFL fans!!! I swear, I've worked with 4 other markets since I started chatting with all of you and learning about what works in San Diego and you guys are BY FAR the best informed and nicest bunch of them all!!!

Mr. Phillips signing today...no, as luck would have it, both my tickets were booked to SD and business plans changed so I stayed home with 8 inches of snow and 28 degrees temp!!! I was soooo looking forward to an umbrella drink overlooking that beautiful ocean! Maybe the next round....well Shaun's been pretty accessible lately, I'm told it went well and that he was very nice to work with...Mr. Gates probably saw a bit more action today though. I'm sorry for those of you who went and got stuck in the end by the dealership. I know it's a differant scenario but there's always next Saturday at Horton and then you'll be gaurenteed. You can even take a picture with him and have him autograph it if you want. Don't forget too, to listen to Rock 105.3 this week to win the Meet and Greet passes for free.

I'm serious guys, i really wish all the teams had such a tight knit group like this to talk with....there are some groups but not as personal or accessible as all of you. So, the curiosity is killing me....any WWE fans in the group?

Hi Jonathen!

Will you let me know how meeting Gates is? Our signing is next week with him at Horton Plaza but it's great that he's out there today!

KC

it went very well until the end. there were no more then maybe 30 adults left to sign (after the family/children were filtered out) and i think AG could have signed all of those left. there were no more people showing up and we all respected the 1 auto, no pics rule. the cold, to the unshaded san diego sun pretty much had us all just wanting to get our auto and leave. it was a bad decision on Cunningham BMW's part.

besides all that...i got my KENT STATE BBALL jersey signed :LightsOut:, and it was awesome taking my girlfriend to her first big signing...especially when :85: is her favorite Chargers player =P ...you should have seen her...she was shaking the whole way there, i had to do the talking for her to get her jersey signed, and when she spoke she kept stuttering, haha!

Gates signing was cool. I got there at like 1:00 and was about the 125th in line. Not nearly as bad as i thought it would be considering that I got there later than i wanted to and the signing was free. It went smooth. (I was the guy wearing the 38 white authentic of the older jersey). From the time Gates got there to the time i got my auto, was probably an hour, but definitely worth it.

Don't know who anybody was but thanks for all the info that you all provide here.

I have a few questions:
My first question is how do you remove an autograph from a helmet, i have two signatures from the same player? I need the room! hahaha What happens if there isn't sufficient room for a player to sign, say gates? Should I buy a new helmet? But If i do that, then I will have two helmets that need his sig and other players signatures. MADNESS! I need help...Thx.

Hey Guys, Do you know the best way to take a player off of a full size helmet, i got some of the team in training camp, but i want to take off kelly griffith, and greg camarillo so i can get the rest of it signed but i dont want someone to sign over them, any tips will help, i tried an eraser, but all that did was turn the autograph from black on the helmet to a purplish color:85:

If the signature was made using a paint-type medium, you can use automotive rubbing/polishing compound applied by hand & a terry cloth towel.
If the signature was made using an ink base substance (ie Sharpie), you'll need to use a proffessional grade polishing compound (I use 3M Microabrasive) applied with a 600 foam pad attached to a hand buffer set at 1800rpm. Results look perfect and unnoticeable.
Using lacquer or acetone may damage the helmet and will leave minute traces of the signature.

Hey guys,

I've found with mini helmets that you can also simply use an eraser to remove both the paint-type and ink base signatures. However, I would recommend not using one of those regular pinkish-type erasers that come standard on pencils as some of that color can rub off on the item. I have a while Pentel retractable eraser stick that I use on my items. Not sure where I got it, but I've had it for years. You can probably try Michaels or an art supply store. The white color doesn't rub off at all, and it works wonderfully to remove the signatures while not damaging the gloss any. You just have to rub lightly, but dilligently, from spot to spot and the ink will disappear eventually leaving no trace of anything ever having been there before. Then you can use a damp cloth to clean and buff the area like new.

This also works well with glossy 8X10s as well (though don't use the damp cloth at the end!). There nothing worse than being in the middle of a hoard of autograph seekers, getting your item signed, and then seeing several stray sharpie marks all over the photo when it makes its way back over to you! The eraser will clean all those up, though, and make the photo nice and presentable.

I hope this helps!

CJs usually has GAI come down 2-3 times a year to authenticate signed pieces at a cost of $20-$30/item
It's always more cost effective to have the signed piece authenticated on site during a public signing. PSA/DNA charges $8 to authenticate each signature when they're present during the signing, such as the upcoming GTSM show in Feb. GAI (Global Authentication Inc) charges $5 for the same service.
A nice touch is what GT Sports Marketing offers on all their exclusive athletes, a hologram despicting the athlete themself.

Hello All,

I just got off the Phone with Gary of GTSM, and I said that to him that it would be great to see Merriman attend the Show in SJ. He is already considering adding Chris Chambers to the show.

I informed him that UD had Merriman for a signing and that the turnout was not that great(whether it was or not I have no clue) when he asked why, I said that they were charging a ridiculous amount, $125 per item and the Fans simply did not support it. I also mentioned that at other shows his price was between 60 to 75 bucs.

Gary seems very willing to bring in people that Fans want to see and since LT is going to be there why not add Merriman, Chambers and Lorenzo to the Show. If we flood him with e-mails he will know that we will really want these athletes at the Show. Here is his addy : GTSMHAWAII@AOL.COM

I also put in a shameless plug for my guy Steven Jackson..............what can I say, the Rams suck this year, but Jackson is just a Beast!.....anyways, I just wanted to share that with eveyone who is attending the show and would like to see these other guys added.

Sorry for the long read,
Humberto

This should still fall under the brought items (single or multi sig regardless). Perhaps you can go in on somebody for the 3rd item and share in the discount. Just an idea.

I'm going to be there to check out the signing as I will be shopping at Horton anyway. I got both my Gates stuff signed at Cunningham BMW so will forgo this signing. However, I hope to chat with a few regulars on the board so hope to see you there.

Helmets are always good, but you can never go wrong with a jersey. Easy to store away and great to display, you have to do the jersey (that and considering what they are charging you).

With an authentic jersey, the safe bet is a DecoColor paint pen. The autograph will bleed somewhat, but not as bad as a sharpie.

Here are a couple of my favorite run-ins, which always ended with a wassup and handshake.

Leslie O'Neil at Friday's in La Jolla awhile back. At the time, he was one of my heroes growing up. Boy had a motor on the field. He signed my Friday's place mat.

Ronnie Lott, Greg Vaughn, and Shaq at the Las Vegas airport. Lott was great since I talked to him for 10 minutes and got him to sign my business card.

I was at Confidential (Roy Firestone from the Bachelor owns the place) in downtown and Ben Leber and his fine ash girl was behind us in the next table. At the time, my gf was in love with him so was more of a treat for her. Looking at Ben's girl was a treat for me.

Went to the carwash at Carmel Valley and found out that Trevor Hoffman was right behind me. He commented on my car and did the same with him. He asked me how many miles on the gallon I get. I think he and his kids were heading to his wife's business which I know was in that strip mall.

Saw Lo-Neal at the Del Mar races this year and wished him luck on the coming season. Not much talk but still in awe how big this guy was.

Coach Gwynn coming out of an SDSU bathroom when I was going back to school there (I forgo'd the handshake of course).

F14

Thats awesome. Ive run into some random celebrities but never any Chargers.

One time I saw Don King in an elevator in Vegas when I was a kid. Dude really has his hair like that in public

Saw John McCenroe at the airport once but was to shy to say anything. Nobody said anything to him and I think he was expecting someone to because he kept turning around.

My parents used to have restaurant and celebs would come from time to time. I never got to see these guys and these were stories relayed by my Dad. Tom Cruise was eating with Emilio Estevez back in the 80s and one of them asked where the closest nudie bar was HAHA. Steffi Graf, Geena Davis, Doug Flutie, Natrone, William Fuller (he was a regular) Chan Ho, Piazza, Wally Joyner. Even Warren Sapp came once and my Dad said he was cursing up a storm about how good the food was. Every other word was the F bomb...typical Faider haha

Antonio Gates and his significant other in Costco, Carmel Mountain. No one except for a few people recognized him.

My wife and I ate at Sushi Lounge in Poway a few feet from Igor Olshansky. Again no one knew him.

Saw Mike Scifres just a week ago in Tiffany's. No one noticed.

Ran into David Justice at a gas station in Rancho Bernardo. I walked right past him.

In all cases, most people don't recognize them. I didn't bother them either although I wished I at least took a picture with Antonio!!!!

From what I've heard in the past, the entrance to Seau's restaraunt is set with a Red Carpet-like atmosphere. As athletes walk towards the entrance, autograph seekers line the carpet and are able to get autographs.

Hey fellas - I've been to a couple of these and scored pretty good. MB is right, they'll have a red carpet and velvet ropes on the way into the restaurant. The players arrive, and most (key word...MOST) will sign as they walk down the carpet and into the restaurant. Most will even sign inside when they're bartending (or not eating).

Good luck with Marshall Faulk. I've met him 3 times so far, and he not only refused to sign, but he was plenty rude about it. Kinda like Marcus Allen, who was rude even while he was sitting at an autograph table. But then again, that's my own experiences with those guys, maybe some of the other guys can give you a better idea of what to expect from him.

They don't mention on the website who will be there, but if you call the restaurant and get the right person, they will fax you a list of celebrities the week of the event. Natrone Means, David Binn, Warren Moon, and Sean Salisbury are there every year, along with plenty of other all-stars and a few HOF'ers.

From what I've heard in the past, the entrance to Seau's restaraunt is set with a Red Carpet-like atmosphere. As athletes walk towards the entrance, autograph seekers line the carpet and are able to get autographs.

So does this mean you dont even have to pay for entry to line up along the carpet? HAHA no Im not cheap or anything =P Im actually going to shell out the 80 for gates this weekend but I was wondering whether we needed to pay admission anyways. For those who have been, would you say its worth it to go? How about Seau? How is his demeanor, does he like to sign?

You only have to pay to get in the restaurant, which is $55. You can stand outside along the rope all night if you want (I did it that way my first time there).

Junior's usually pretty good about signing. He'll sign just about anything handed to him, but he does it while he's walking toward the door, so it may be a bit rushed.

I can confirm that one can score big at the annual Seau party. I have gone as both guest and visitor (outside the red carpet) and can confirm that many past and current NFL stars will sign. Just a listing of players that I have gotten in the past: Seau, Moon, Mike Martz, Don Coryell, Reid, Big Hands Johnson, Louie Kelcher, Chandler, Ben Leber, Lionel "Little Train" James (dude just came out for some air and talked to me for awhile, my height and drunk as hell), Alfonso Ribera (Carlton from Fresh Prince), Eric Dickerson, and etc. There were more, but I didn't feel the need to get all their autographs. I attached a link of celebs that have attended and you can see some photos of players signing at the red carpet. I have seen "the pros" there and they are well prepared (mini helmets, footballs, from all types of teams.) I highly recommend that you go if you want to score a bunch of autos. Just follow "the pros" lead as I have often asked "who's that?" so many times.

http://www.juniorseau.org/photo_gallery.htm

It's a great event for being a paid guest as well. I wanted to enjoy the party one year so left all my auto stuff at home. The food was plentiful but a drag that they rope off the celebs from the common folk. You're not really rubbing elbows with them. However, there are a few celebs who will mingle in the common area. My gf and I have been able to get a bunch of photos with them. However, it will be difficult to get autos if you attend the party. I have only seen a few people bring stuff to get signed in the party and haven't been successful. I don't recommend paying if auto hunting is your goal.

BTW, stay away from Marcus Allen because he will blow you off. Seau will sign a few and will keep the same pen to sign everyone else's He signed my helmet in blue, which I rubbed off. All my other sigs were in black. Oh well.

Hope this helps!

No, you are not the only one. These two are regarded as two of the worst around the NFL. I had a chance to get both of them in '03 during the Super Bowl.

That year, Ricky Williams had a charity pop warner game with celebs (including Snoop Dog, etc etc) and a few of us (maybe three) went up to Faulk and asked for an autograph. He didn't say no, his bodyguards did. So we figured since we were older (mid 20's), we asked a kid about 10-years-old to go up to him and ask. He was denied as well.

As for Marcus Allen. He was supposed to do a signing at UCSD a few days before he was announced as a HOFer and before the Super Bowl. However, nobody told him. With a line of about 200 people, he showed up 25 minutes late and when he saw the line, he ducked behind a sign that you see on college campuses with the buildings, where you are sign, etc etc. After about 15 minutes of calming him down, they announced he could not sign any autographs and would only do handshakes. I later learned he signed an exclusive and could not sign autographs until he was a HOF'er.

If there is anybody you don't want to piss off after standing all day, it is Raider fans. Man they were pissed.

Another rumor, look for Cromartie to be doing a GTSM show in the near future.

ScootMagroot

Congrats on the bat. I was there so think I know what you look like. I would get LT to sign a jersey in his size. I think he wears a size 48, but someone else needs to confirm. Also, I recommend getting a white jersey signed since the silver paint pen sigs look way better than a black/blue sharpie if getting a blue jersey signed.

I didn't attend the Castillo or Philips signing, so have no basis to compare. But from what I saw the turn out was fairly decent, larger than what I was expecting. I actually think there were more in attendance at today's paid signing versus last weeks free signing.
There was a 30 minute line to buy tickets and items. After which you were instructed to get into another line to get the actual autograph and/or photo. The second line was about a 20-30 minute wait.

Hey guys. Gates signing was alot of fun. It was great meeting you Meanz! I emailed you just now too so check your email when you get a chance. Funny thing happened today...after I got my sig from Gates I notice that the polaroid they gave game out really blurry so I went to the guy and asked if I can take another and they said yeah. So Im waiting and all of a sudden this little dude with a ton of tatoos (one saying 619) on his arm walks by me...so any WWE fans reading this can probably guess who that was....Rey Mysterio Jr! Obviously since he's from SD he has to be a Charger fan right? And apparently a Gates fan too. So he got his pix and everything he wanted signed. After he was done I got my pix with Rey as well...very nice guy and seemed down to Earth.

Oh and after all that I went xmas shopping at Fashion Valley and lo and behold I see Antonio Gates there too. Twice in one day, whatre the chances? He was xmas shopping too I think. Walked right by him as he walked into Neiman Marcus. Didnt bother him but said whats up. Overall really nice guy.

Yeah they were taking polaroids and he signed them as well. They charged 40 for just taking a dig pic also. But if you had a person who took the dig pix at the same time as the guy taking a polaroid then you didnt have to pay extra.

I must say, a very good year for me, considering my limited time and finances. I didn't have nearly the success some of youse guys had (I'm working on that), but pretty good for me nonetheless.

I paid for Gates at the first signing at Horton Plaza (had no problem paying the $75 for the 16x20). Caught Turner the Burner, Dielman, Phillips, and Mruczkowski (yes, I used cut & paste for that name...LOL) at the bartending gig at Moose's. Managed to get Cooper, Wilhelm, McCree, Manumaleuna, and Igor at Fan Fest. Met MB, Random, and I think F14 at the Bennett signing. Found the time, luckily, to get down to Plaza Bonita for Rivers (that was big for me), Jackson, and Kassim, and met the very cool Aztec Warrior and his girl. There were one or two others that I can't remember, since I'm sharp as a bowling ball.

Despite the dozen or so appearances, I still managed to miss Castillo every time. I WILL manage to chase him down sometime this year!!

Here's to seeing youse guys at many more signings in 2008, and hope everyone has a most excellent holiday!!

Perhaps I will meet some of you at the Upcoming Show in SJ, and I hope to make some events in your area next year. I truly enjoy this board, and with the exception of the lil bump in the road earlier, the members keep it fun with fotos and stories of players they meet.

Agreed, SoCal...I stand corrected. Alworth was one of the THREE greatest Chargers of all time...LOL. I also agree with Random that Unitas was just making a cameo here, he was not a great Charger and will never be known as a Charger.

So if it turns out we cant bring stuff for cromartie to sign how hardcore is the security at these boat shows? Probably couldn't sneak a f/s in but a mini maybe or is it like going to the Q with metal detectors and everyone getting patted down and purses checked? I'm not gonna drive 80 miles to go if you cant bring in stuff to have signed thats lame

Someone said we cant bring stuff in??? I got my 16x20 of "the int" ready.

This isn't technically a player appearance but they are raffling off LaDainian Tomlinson signed footballs at the San Diego Auto Show. It's at the Lincoln display next to LT's Lincoln Navigator. They held a drawing at 8pm yesterday and I was the lucky winner! I was even wearing my LT jersey when I won lol. The Lincoln people told me that I can have the ball personalized and will receive it by February. Hopefully we win the Superbowl and I can get him to sign it with that!

A most excellent find on the Cromartie signing, Aurelio...you get full credit for that one!!

Right now all I have to bring is one of the pages of the 2008 calendar that was handed out at a recent game. Good thing is, it's a pic of the 109 yd missed FG return. Bad thing is, it's probably too late to order a copy of "THE interception", as GoChargers21 put it. There's no way it'll get here in time. I'll be ready the next time he signs!!

SouthernCalBolt, thats a good question. I have a full size helmet also and i went to the gates signing in el cajon an i told him, "you get to be the first to sign my TEAM helmet". Do you know what he did? he signed the whole side LOL. Yeah, he is antonio gates but man, i wanted the whole team not just you LOL. So i wanna know the same thing, how do I tell the player not to take a lot of space.

I am sorry everybody, but I just got off of the phone with Antonio Cromartie's Agent and he will not be appearing at the Boat Show. I know we were all excited to meet him again, but the Playoff schedule will not permit him to appear. Chuck Muncie will be at the event in his place. He is scheduled to appear & Sign to the public from 5-6:30 PM. There is no charge for Muncie's autograph and they will even have free 8x10 photos they are giving away for free.

I know how bad everyone wants to see Cromartie in San Diego, so we are working on getting him an appearance at CJs Sports Cards and are also trying to get him in the GTSM show in San Jose on March 2.

Anyone looking for a display cabinet to showcase their collections? I've got a spare cabinet that holds helmets/footballs/McFarlanes etc...perfectly. Dimensions are approx 70"x16"x18" It originally cost $125 @IKEA, but to fellow Chargers fans I'm asking only $30 for it

Wood frame is a Dark Blue color, similiar to the 1988-06 helmet color. Glass sides, glass door, Interior light, & 3 glass shelves included.

Not too long at all. The 1st ProLine I acquired was in January 2007. I just kept going and ended up with all 32 teams, a few throwbacks of some favorite teams & atleast 2 Chargers helmets from each era. Total is about 57 ProLines & 3 replicas in total all collected within a 10 month span

I'm not sure if they'll list all the people who will be there (besides Junior and Marshall) but here's a list from the website of the people there from 2006:

Over 100 NFL Legends and Celebrities attended the various weekend events including:
Warren Moon, Reggie Bush, Natrone Means, Frank Brickowski, Greg Lloyd, La’Roi Glover, Ronnie Lott, Andy Macdonald, Jay Fiedler, Dermontti Dawson, Seth Joyner, Randy Jones, Sergio Mora, Marcus Allen, Drew Brees, Vencie Glenn, Rod Martin, Eric Dickerson, Alfonso Ribeiro, Chili Davis, Dennis McCoy, Kevin Robinson, June Jones, David Binn, Eric Fonoi, Aaron Taylor, Hugh Campbell, Christian Okoye, Andre Reed, Sid Brooks, Dave Stewart, Tina Mickelson, John Carney, Deacon Jones, Vaughn Parker, Darren Bennett, Marlin Briscoe, C.S. Keys, Willie Buchanon, Steve Hegg, Jim Laslavic, Mike Whitmarsh, Charles Dimry, Doug Wilkerson, Pete Shaw, Calvin Sweeney, Brad Daluiso, Darren Carrington, Ben Higgins.

Dang, I would have went for Alfonso Ribeiro's auto for sure!!!! LOL Actually, I wouldn't have mind getting Reggie Bush, Ronnie Lott and June Jones' autos. Also, Christian "The Nigerian Nightmare" Okoye who was a complete beast as a RB. I may attend the fesitivities but it's a little early to know for sure right now.

I have ordered 8-10 photos from ballen. All great quality. All pretty fast shipping.

Remember though... just as any photo place... the older the photo, the worse the quality will be when you blow it up. All photos from the last couple seasons are so hi resolution that it wouldn't matter

:76:The JW signing was a success. All the regulars were there so it was nice to see everyone. I managed to be in and out in less than 40 minutes...and that's arriving at 10:05 am. Go Bolts!!!:76:

Got there around 10:50 am and was out in 25 minutes. There was 2 lines to stand in, auto only and sandwich + auto. I forgoed the free sandwich so I we can get back to work in time. Looking thru the window, I saw Jamal occassionally stand up and down for photos. I wanted to scream at him since I know he has some knee problems so standing up and down with his weight can't be a good idea. We REALLY need him for Indy this Sunday. Anyway, he was truly a big teddy bear, signed our helmets, took a photo even when the owner said no (he wanted to get thru the line for everyone so understood) and talked briefly. I congratulated him on his first playoff win. This was a coup for me since we weren't able to get him in training camp. I heard he was a real difficult signer so happy to add him to the helmet. Thanks Mighty 1090, Subway owner (guy in blue shirt), and for the thread reporters.

BTW, I ran into Michael Turner at D&B's yesterday. Him and his boys were probably there for the LSU - Ohio State game. I wished him good luck in Indy. They left early since LSU was busy blowing out the Buckeyes.

I remember him being a good player on some mediocre teams during a down period in Chargers history.

Thanks for the heads up Random. He was drafted by the Chargers in the 1st round I believe, but didn't become the impact player that we expected. He was known more for his mouth than his play. For the old timers out there, does anybody remember his little section in the Union-Tribune, "The world according to Burt"? Here's an article, a sort of "where is he now".
