1 Cindarella year and suddently we've proclaimed ourselves victims and woeful opponents.

Truth is, somehow we've returned our team back to its status quo... -
- Sometimes we win against great teams... and
- Sometimes we lose against bad teams...

all of us who have follow this team through the years have grown accustomed to this style of play. This is "same as it ever was"....

This year, we are so lost in "last year's" delusions of grandeur that we've lost perspective and are wrapped up in the "details" of the week instead of the big picture.

The reality is, for once (for the second year in a row) we are almost surely guaranteed a playoff birth! Despite the ugliness, thats the second year in a ROW! With reverse logic, we must be doing something right.

Once the playoff tournament starts EVERYTHING starts over. Let's keep focus and perspective and believe. Negativity is something we should have dropped @ the BYE week, and now we must truly hope and BELIEVE. all of our negativity does nothing other than ruin our day.

Like a Charger fan in the 80's,90's and new era, i always watch and Believe. I dream and hope.... This year we've got the tools and i can only guess as to our final record.

Take off the bags boys (and girls) hand your head high and give support. Maybe our team just needs to be shown that we do (still) believe.

Uh, so muchfor holding your team to a standard of excellence. Ever dawn on you we should EXPECT good things from our beloved bad news bolts rather than accept poor play?

I appreciate your optimism.
I don’t think that negative people can be happy though unless they are being negative.
I’m not talking about the area 51 people. Some are negative and some are positive, just like the rest of us.

at some point, (like our coaches/gm/etc) you have to realize that *maybe* whatever you are doing isnt working.

Obviously, the team hasnt played up to your (and OUR) expectations... get over it...

beating them up and spewing negativity can only go so far. at some point you have to let it go and hope... (and believe)...

as fans, our weeks to b*tch are over, continually harping and "bagging" on the team only drives us deeper down. Yes the players understand that they arent meeting our (or their own) expectations, but do they need to be CONSTANTLY reminded?

Just Believe, thats all we can do now.

There is a difference between being negative and being realistic. Realistic tells us that we are an average team at best and it is time for all the rah rah fans to realize this and stop starting stupid threads like this.

I believe.
However, I dont understand so many people on these boards saying winning our division and a spot in the playoffs as a certain guarantee. Nothing is guaranteed the way this team plays. You can't guarantee a win against either the chefs or the donks.

Too many people here are counting chickens before they are hatched.

I myself am skeptical this team will get better. I hope they prove me wrong, but I base my opinion on what i see...not what i feel in my heart.

It just bothers me reading all these threads after yesterdays dismal effort, and people are still saying they think the playoffs are a guarantee. I just dont see it.

Why does it bother you and other people so much? Opinions are still opinions when the bags come off. From what I have seen there are just as many people complaining without bags.

So then, can I gather from your post that you consider yourself a realistic poster.

Some people just don't understand the difference between reality and sarcasm...

The optimist, realist, or pessimist -- any are fine. It's just a personality trait. None of these are annoying to me until one of them thinks everyone else has to be just like them. "I'm right, you're wrong." FANATICISM vs. just being a fan...

Firstly, we won't be "birthing" into the playoffs, and making the playoffs surely is not almost guaranteed. And at this point, the grasp we have on that playoff spot is more the teams below us being bigger **** ups than we are, as opposed to us doing something right (not to discredit wins like Indy). Have you ever heard of counting chickens before they hatch?

I'll wear my bag as I please, even tho it's plastic and not good for the environment, and you can wear your rosey glasses sprinkling things with a sugary coating.

Very true. But really, when does it happen for the bolts and the long time fans who believe that this is the best team in YEARS. I will believe blindly like you and hope for the best. I am still always excited on game day. Have been even through the late 80's and late 90's.

Yes, just like last season, the season before that, the season before that, the decade before that, and the half century before that. Your right, there is no logical reason, that as fans, we should expect anything. Everyone should just shut up and get in line, like good little sheep.

Ironically though, it is amazing what good ownership and coaching can do for bad franchises.

Just because some fans chose to voice their concern or disgust doesnt make them any less of a person for doing so. Its their right as fans. And based on the history of this franchise, I say that many have earned every gripe that they have.

And when you say "us", who are you referring to? The fans or the players?

Besides, you call it expectations, but it could also be considered common sense. If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck. In your little tirade, it appears you are angry at some for calling it a duck. Maybe you should step back and re-evaluate your viewpoint.

Paper sacks? I went straight to plastic. It takes less time to kill the pain.
