I tell you what I like about the whole deal. that was late in the game and Philip Rivers had been out of the game for more than a quarter but he was still in the think of what was going on.

Dear djd8960, this is a "You think you are funny" forum. We crack jokes here. The jokes go both ways- we make fun of the Chargers, as well as the opposing team. It just so happens that this was a pretty funny image for everyone, what with Wilhelm waving, Rivers mouthing off, and Philips smiling in the middle. You gotta admit, that's a sight to behold given that the Broncos are a division rival that have owned the Chargers for the better half of the last half century.

“We get a fourth-down stop,” Rivers recalled yesterday. “I'm not in the game anymore, so I'm way into the defense more than I normally am. . . . Matt Wilhelm and Shaun Phillips, those guys have been jawing the whole game with them. We get a good stop. They are jawing. I'm not anywhere involved. I come out to congratulate them on the stop, and while I'm out there, yeah, there is some eye contact, but I'm saying, 'Atta baby' to Matt Wilhelm and Shaun Phillips. Sure there is eye contact. Maybe there is a smirk. But I am speaking to my guys.”
Cutler could be seen at midfield looking in their direction, and Phillips said yesterday that it was Cutler who started the talking.
“It's funny,” Phillips said. “Philip walked out and told us not to say anything, that we're winning. And Cutler is yelling. . . . Cutler does a lot of talking. I thought it was funny they were talking and losing.”
So basically, Philip Rivers told the guys not to say anything. That's classy. The defense was on the field, so it's not like Rivers was heated. Shaun Philips said nothing, and just pointed at the scoreboard. That's classy. Not rubbing it in his face, just plain and simple, the only thing that matters are the numbers on the board when the clock strikes zero. Wilhelm, he smiles and waves. Slightly less classy, but not too bad. Taken with a grain of salt. At least he wasn't in the middle of the field pretending to ride a horse and slapping his butt. That would have been "classless".
