As a Chargers fan in the UK, I'd love to see them over here but I seriously doubt it'll happen (even though they'll have to travel somewhere eventually). I'd imagine it'd probably be east coast teams involved again and, if it's like last time, the home team will probably have volunteered to be the home team.

The NFLUK office first mentioned this as a probability on our main NFL broadcaster (sky) a couple of weeks back, and they did say they had a list of dates/games to choose from and many of those did involve play-off teams, but I really can't see a west coast team being asked to come over this far, just yet. I think it's more likely that when the Chargers turn comes around, it'll be in Mexico or somewhere.

Should be New England vs. Buffalo. If any two teams understand bad wheather and would at least give us a better game than last year it would be them.

travel to far, they have said no team west of pittsburgh will play in those games

which gives them a bunch of teams to still choose from

Why not play the losers of the Championship games: Patriots and Packers?

New England would lose one home game, the Packers fans would invade London, it would be a good NFL publicity.

An 8 hour difference would kill any west coast team that travels here. It is a 5 hour flight across the Atlantic, add the 5+ hours from the west coast and the players will be getting beat by the jet lag alone.

As a HUGE DIEHARD CHARGERS FAN... living in England, being in the US Military stationed over here... please let the Chargers come play here!!! But, I would agree that my request is very selfish, and could be detrimental to the performance of the team, but after being here for a year, and knowing it will be at least 2 more before I get to go back to the states for a game, I would LOVE to see the bolts here in England. However, the should either make it the week after our bye, or the week before your bye.

Just my 2 cents..

Bolts fan in England

Hey there my fellow American displaced in England. I've been here for two years now. It's not too bad, but not seeing all the games is the big downer here for me. Thankfully there is sopcast that shows it now and then. Looking at your location, you aren't too far away from where I am stationed. Here's to hoping the Chargers go all the way! :LightsOut:

Send Miami and Pittsburgh. They love low scoring games in England

Chin up guys. I lived in the UK for 17 years, including 94 Superbowl. Takes dedication to follow the Bolts from Blighty. Before SKY when there were only 4 channels I used to have to wait till the Monday afternoon Stars and Stripes to get scores. Thank god for the internet

No way the bolts will play in Europe. I think that they have a good shot of playing in Mexico though.

I'd love to export the Charger brand to Europe. A new legion of fans means more attention and more pro bowlers.

What we really need to see, however, is an NFL game at ANZ Stadium, Melbourne Cricket Ground or Telestra Dome. We need to do more to expose the NFL to a nation that can understand it better than anyone else on this Earth can - Austrailia.

I don't think they'll have anymore Miami/NYG games there for a while, lol. Man, that game was boring as hell! I actually felt bad for all those people in attendance who had to pay to see that crap!

I was at this year's game, just because of the event it was. Wouldn't go again until the Bolts come. Having nobody to cheer for (apart from "Eli sucks!") killed it for me.

We won't get the Chargers though. The NFL will ship 2 teams expected to be rubbish. That way none of them can be said to have lost out.

That game was a complete udder joke. The field, or the "pitch," was in no condition for football and to top it off, there was a streaker. I understand there are some real fans there that love the game, but for the most part the people there view American football as a joke.

The 3 most popular teams in London are the Cowboys, Giants and Dolphins so I expect the Cowboys to be involved. And since the the NFC East is playing the AFC North this coming season, I could see the NFL sending the Steelers over there.

Didn't Jerry Jones say he'd never let his team go to Europe?

There's absolutely no way he has that option.

I think the Raiders would be an EXCELLENT fit for London. They have the hooligan fans there that would blend right in.

IMO if they're gonna waste a game overseas, then they should make it a total mismatch where the "home" team is favored to win by a large margin. That way home-fans arn't missing an exciting game.

They were talking about this on Sky last night (during the game), and NFLUK confirmed the home team would be one of four teams.... the Seahawks, Saints, Bucs or Chiefs. They also mentioned that it would, again, be an AFC/NFC matchup.

It didn't take the pundits too long to work out what the potential match ups were.

If the Saints or Bucs host then it'll the be Raiders or Chargers...

Also the three possible stadiums were mentioned.
Wembley, London, England
Millenium Stadium, Cardiff, Wales
Murrayfield, Edingburgh, Scotland

I'd personally like to see it at Murrayfield, the home of Scottish Rugby (it'll almost certainly have the best pitch) but it is the smallest in capacity so I find it doubtful.

The team I think will host... I think it'll be the Chiefs. They're renovating Arrowhead next year, aren't they?!

It was nice to see an NFL game over here in the UK. I know a lot of people that went to that game and enjoyed every minute of it.

Myself on the other hand flew thousads of miles and watched the Bolts play the Texans while on holiday lol.

I dont think you guys realise how big the NFL is getting over here. I cannot recall the exact amount of people wanting tickets, but I did hear that thy could have sold out 5 times over. Now for a sport thats not recognised in this country, that aint bad!!

Really !
In the UK if you goin' to a nightclub, and there's a big line to get in,
and yo happened to be wearing a Raiders jacket the doorman will let you in FREE of charge !

Theyre crazy about the Raiders and the hooligan aspect of it.

I say send 'em the Cleveland Browns and Steelers. It's an East Coast thang'
