CHIEFS TO CUT LAW

A league source tells us that the Kansas City Chiefs soon will be releasing veteran cornerback Ty Law.

Law, 33, was cut by the Patriots in February 2005. He played for the Jets that year, and then signed with the Chiefs in 2006.

Signed through 2010, Law is due to earn a base salary of $6.5 million in the coming season.

:Bolt: If you're over 30 and due to earn $6 million+ in salary, you better still be a REAL good, or your ass is getting cut.

If he agreed to sign for less, it could work. DFlo is rumored to be leaving and the chargers need a solid 3rd CB. I wouldn't play Law over Cro or Jammer

Ty Law would definitely make a great 3rd CB on some dime plays.

When I see DB/CBs making that kind of money, and not willing to take a paycut, either a) they expect some other idiot team will pick them up or b) I have to think they don't know how to manage their money. Honestly.

"Hey AJ, my buddy, Any interest in Ty Law. We talked and he said that San Diego is his first choice and <Insert Salesman Speil>"

AJ -
"Would he be o.k. as the #3 and playing for something close to $1.5M per year."

Ty's Agent
"Thanks AJ, i needed a laugh today. Its been tough selling this guy."

haha...sure does sound about right...he is heading towards the end of his career...fat chance though that he would swallow some pride and accept a lesser role and less money for a chance at another ring...he would be a perfect fit for a third corner here...vetran experience...knows the league and AFC West...playoff and championship tested...it would be nice...

NFLTA speculated (key word) yesterday that he could return to NE since they'll likely be losing Asante.
