Specter again calls for Spygate investigation (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-spygate&prov=ap&type=lgns)
“My strong preference is for the NFL to activate a Mitchell-type investigation,” Specter’s statement said. “I have been careful not to call for a Congressional hearing because I believe the NFL should step forward and embrace an independent inquiry and Congress is extraordinarily busy on other matters If the NFL continues to leave a vacuum, Congress may be tempted to fill it.”
Specter has been proactive in seeking greater NFL accountability into the Spygate affair, which centers on Patriots’ taping of opposing teams’ defensive signals over a span of several years. Specter has met with—and been highly critical of—NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. The Senator also met with former New England video assistant Matt Walsh, a central figure in the scandal.
“The commissioner’s investigation has been fatally flawed,” the statement said. “The lack of candor, the piecemeal disclosures, the changes in position on material matters, the failure to be proactive in seeking out other key witnesses, and responding only when unavoidable when evidence is thrust upon the NFL leads to the judgment that an impartial investigation is mandatory.”

Sorry I don't care. I really don't think there is much to this. If the Pats got that much out of those tapes to get them 3 rings, they desrive three rings. you know what they say "If you are not cheating you are not trying....

I think Spector might find even more dirt. That's what the Pats and their troll fans are afraid of ....

Only two things will make me happier then when the Pats lost the Super Bowl...
1. When the Chargers Win the SB
2. When Specter digs up the information to nail the Pats and Roger Goodell.
Sen. Specter Thank You.......

Why I don't want further investigation?
1) It's distracting
2) It's growing old
3) It is unwarrantable. Specter's surprise witness had nothing new to contribute and now he's on a quest to find another alibi to go on.
A few months ago you guys were clamoring to see what Walsh had to say. Now he has spoken but he didn't say what you wanted to hear so now you're clamoring for something else because its not about what actually happened, its about what you wanted to happen.

1. Distracting? - Its only distracting to Pats fans because they are scared he is going to expose them as frauds. The lack of any real investigation has consequently already done that in the eyes of many fans and players.
Like Lucid said, if you have nothing to hide. Why stop the investigation? This investigation will only help the Pats right?
2. Its growing old? - I see, if someone commits a crime, after a while they should stop looking for the criminal because its yesterdays news. Growing old, How lame! So is Baseball season and its only June.
3. Unwarranted? - If only the NFL did a better job of telling the public/NFL fans everything there wouldn't be this lingering distrust. Too many questons went unanswered.
A few months ago when they brought Walsh in for questioning, The NFL was quick to brush everything off as nothing new. Then when Spector interviewed Walsh, new information came out and the public/NFL fans got a better understanding of what the Pats were doing. Why is that? Why cant the NFL and the Pats organization just come clean?
Its like the Senator said, the lack of candor, the piecemeal disclosures and responding only when unavoidable when evidence is thrust upon, leaves many people scratching there heads.
I havent rejected reality. I just want to know what the reality is.

You are rejecting what is happening with Specter because it is not what you want to happen. (the whole thing to go away without full disclosure)
You are rejecting the reality of the Specter persistence and substituting your own reality in its place.
It’s easy enough to understand where you are coming from. Few want to be shown evidence that their beloved organization cheated.
My sympathy goes out to the Pats fans, it is not their fault, and they are caught in the middle.

what the heck is specter going to find out? That they videotaped 5 more teams or something. They stole signals.... Every team steals signals. The Patriots just took it to another level. They were fined and LOST A FIRST ROUND PICK. That first round pick was huge for them they could have drafted another DB. They were the only team b4 draft day to have 2 first round picks. I think the ultimate punishment for the Pats would be, to not let Brady or Belicheck into the HOF. That would be enough in my eyes. Congress has better things to do then try and find more game tapes and information that they already knew.
And we have better things to do than to be here talking about it. Yet here we are.

Because in this country you need a reason to have an investigation! You don't seem to understand what an investigation is. An investigation suspends a citizens rights. You must have damn gone reason for it. It's not something you can just have.
Belichick was illegally videotaping signals. Evidence has been submitted to prove this. However, that's not what you want to investigate. You already know that. Your talking about skipping through Foxboro and digging around to see if you can find some more dirt. That's unconstitutional. You need to have reasonable cause for search and seizure and speculation does not qualify as reasonable cause.
Tell me, what the hell are you looking for? Anything in particular? Or do you think that if you just dig through Belichick's files for long enough you'll eventually find something illegal? Guess what, that's unwarrentable.

They are just bitter about losing to the Pats, in the Playoffs. I think most of this is the Green Eyed Monster. Most of the fans that decry the Patriots for this, would down play it if it was their team.

Ah yes, the green-eyed monster explanation.
The cause of everything from Cain’s murder of Abel to the investigation of Nixon to the staunch support of a non pro-bowl and non-playoff QB being better than PR.
That GEM sure does get around.

It's easier for you to notice that since your team regularly beats the Pats. It's funny how Spygate escalated in significance with every game we won last year.
