It's clear to me that at this point in the season Towers doesn't know the difference between his elbow and his butt with the decisions he's made (and the lack of decisions he's made).
Think of this as a 'We're tired of this Kevin you need to go' thread and feel free to vent...

Change it to the what have you done for me lately thread. Kevin Towers only sin is the poor drafting but that's not entirely on him.
Chris Young and Adrian Gonzalez plus Tremmell Sledge for Adam Eaton and Aki Otska.
Kooz for Josh Barfield.

This season has to be one of the most frustrating seasons that I have ever witnessed. No sense of going on an endless rant here but here are two things that are burning me up right now.
1. The dismantling of our bull pen. How the hell do we go from the best bull pens in the game to the worst?
2. The fact we let two decent players go that were a crucial part of out offence last year. Cameron and Bradley..... I know I know, Cameron was out for the first 25 games but since he has come back he is playing better than ever for the Brew crew. Bradley had his moments last year only to be topped by his knee blow out during that argument. That does not cover up the guy is a good hitter. Now the dude is raking in Texas..... IMO, insert those guys in out line up and we are at least 15 games better then we sit now.
One more thing… all I hear as a fan is that we need to play “small ball” because of Petco. So why is our team speed one of the worst in the majors???

I don't have a problem with KT. I think that looking at the overall picture of what he's done-- considering what he's been limited to--he's done pretty well. It's the owner and CEO of the this club that I've got issues with right now...

I'm not a huge follower of baseball, but I sure hear Sandy Alderson talking on 1090 alot....
How much responsibility falls on his shoulders?

My point is 12 HR's and 28RBI's in that length of time. Not to shabby, we have nobody in the out field that is in double figures for HR's this year. In fact he has the same amount of RBI's as Giles who leads Padres out fielders.

This team doesn't need more strikeouts which Cameron is good for 100+ in addition to 25 homers.

hairston has 9, Mcanulty has 3, Huber hit 2 or 3, headley has 3 already, so Cameron wouldnt have made that much a difference, especially since his production would be lower due to the fact he would be playing in Petco
The Real problem with this team isn't KT, Alderson and his lame theories should take the brunt of the blame.

And then get a real owner, get new uniroms that dont look like crap, and after that rename the team the Gueys, and get a "name" player for once.

And Dodger fans are not rough on your boy Ned and McCourt???
Beisdes, I like KT. He's a good GM, but like any other GM, a GM is as good as their owners pocketbook. If KT is ran out of town, Seattle would be wise to pick him up. Their owners spend money. KT with an owner who spends=success. Look what happened in '95-'98. Moores opened up the pocketbook, allowed KT to make trades and spend money on key F/A's. Moores is the problem, not KT.

The Dodgers spend money, lots money.........they just seem to spend it on the wrong players (see Jones, and Schimdt)

Towers is not the problem.
The only thing i could blame KT on is the same with Bochy, they both love playing/acquiring veteran players past their prime and that puts a hamper on developing the younger prospects.
If it werent for playing or acquiring guys like Ryan Klesko and Brian Giles, Xavier Nady and Jason Bay would be in our outfield now along with promising rookie Chase Headley.
On the other hand some of those players have panned off nicely, Mark Loretta was great here. Mike Cameron did well for us too, Maddux has been ok, but the Edmonds signing was a dissaster, who cares how he's doing now he did nothing for us.
Mark Prior was a million dollar gamble that didnt pan out.
And you cant forget the trade KT pulled that brought us Adrian Gonzalez and Chris Young.
And if you go further back 10-12 years ago, who assembled those division winning (and pennant winning in 98) rosters? KT. Cami, Vaughn, Finley, Kevin Brown, Wally Joyner, all KT guys.
So no KT is NOT the problem, Moores just need to open the pocketbook a tad more, some $15-20 mil extra. I know it's easy for us to say, it's not our money to spend so that's exactly why we can put the blame on KT, he's handcuffed in what he can do.

KT didn't pull off the Cami, Finley trade in 95.

a even share of the blame needs to placed upon Sandy "the smartest man that ever watched baseball" Alderson.
as with any organization, KT is given a set of parameters to operate with in. He has made his own share of mistakes however;
resigning Michael Barrett
trading for Jim Edmonds
assembling a poorly constructed and limited bench
overvaluing certain players such as McNulty, huber, egads i could name many more
Baseball isnt win by crunching numbers which is what Sandy's stat boys did prior to the season and they placed far too much trust in numbers.
its going to take 2-3 yrs before they climb out of this mess provided they make sound baseball decisions and I dont trust Sandy in that respect.
on another aspect, I honestly believe Moores is going to entertain some type of buy out for this team which really wont be a bad thing at all.
Now if we can just convince Mark Cuban to get into baseball ownership.........

Anyone who says to fire this FO, is either an idiot or they're a bandwagon fan who didn't know what the pre John Moores era was like.
Towers is the best trade nothing for something GM in Baseball. People crucify him for his first bad bullpen in what seems like a decade. They want to blame him and Alderson for Milton Bradley backing out of a deal and going to Texas where he could DH. They blame KT and Alderson for ***udome choosing the Cubs and a corner outfield position for more money, than playing for us in CF.
There isn't a GM in baseball that I'd take over Towers. Theo Epstein is a puppet GM. Cashman has spends more money than the yankees receive from MLB and from their stadium and still hasn't won with 1billion spent on their roster this millennium. Stoneman(Angels) lets all his guys rot in the minors instead of making the push which is why he's been fired, as does Hendry.
For anyone clamoring for a new GM, just who's available and better than Towers?

Sandy is more the issue that Towers is. you can only move so far while handcuffed and chained.

The guy who gets no blame because no one knows he is even in our upper management is Paul Depodesta, his title is assistant to the GM, but he answers directly to Alderson. If I were Kevin Towers I would hate having somone constantly lurking over my shoulder and reporting to my boss.

This whole organization
is top heavy with management. They should flush these guys down the poo hole, and invite someone in that knows Baseball.
How about Larussa
...?
I hate the whole orginization
....Bud Black sounds like Alderson
. Never a straight answer, just diplomatic Lawyer speak. Gimme a manager that throws a fit now and then:LightsOut:.
I've been to a couple of gatherings where some of the local sports talk show guys are....and after a couple of pops they will tell you that KT scouts people he wants, but then management tells him who he can pursue
.
Thanks John Moores
...I wouldn't have voted for you ball park, had I known the Chargers were going to get kicked out of town.

I hate this comment more than anything. The Chargers were pathetic, the laughing stock of the NFL during this time. The Pads were NL Champs, got their stadium to a vote and was approved. Idiot post of the day.
