Manny Ramirez has been traded to the Dodgers in a three-team blockbuster, pending the approval of the commissioner's office, according to a source with knowledge of the deal.


Pirates outfielder Jason Bay is headed to the Red Sox. The Pirates will receive Andy LaRoche and right-hander Bryan Morris from the Dodgers and outfielder Brandon Moss and releiver Craig Hansen from the Red Sox.
The Red Sox will pay all of the approximately $7 million remaining on Ramirez's contract.

Ramirez should provide a major boost to the Dodgers' offense, but his arrival will add to the crowd in the Dodgers' outfield, which already includes Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp, Juan Pierre and Andruw Jones.
It is possible the Dodgers sent the Pirates an outfielder in the deal. The names are not confirmed.

looks like they're trying to make a push for the play off, only 1 game behind and they're adding a power hitter, if he hits well the diamondback are not gonna make the play off.

PS: Padres are officially not playing for play off anymore, OMG they slip even further after the all star games.

My thoughts exactly.

When I got off work yesterday, I was hanging out with a buddy of mine who is from Boston. He started talking mad trash against Manny but then went on to talk trash on all of his own - yeah, talking garbage on all the Bostonians, especially the Red Sox fan.

Kinda random story, but it was nice to hear trash talk from one of their own. ;)
