Personally, the shape and structure of the horse head reminds me too much of a certain other team's for my taste....
Two of the original Charger shields:
Early AFL Logo:

Late 60's logo:

That is nice Mathwiz.
The '60s logo looks like a dragon, not a horse.

I leave the paper bags to you and Saints fans.
I was proud to wear Chargers gear even when Mike Riley was the coach.

Just curious, but was that 'old' shield logo ever considered a real team logo by the NFL? I have been a fan for years and I have never seen that logo anywhere but on this forum(i live in Ohio). The only shield I ever remember was the 60s-70s version from the throwbacks.

Nice. Hey, let's see it without the SD or Chargers. That would look real good.

Don't take it personally, but the horse is just a little too "cartooney" for my taste. I like the bolt incorporated into the mane, bt the jawline and the mouth area are out of proportion (jaw should be bigger than muzzle) and kinda two dimensional.

Who said we weren't proud during the Mile Riley years? I watched and cheered for every bolt game I was able to see since 1994 no matter how bad they did and which coach they had at the time. The paper bag is not a bag of shame. Its a bag of magic mojo used to help the bolts win.

I was thinking the same thing. Not to say the logo is bad, I love it but it does seem to cartoonish. Just make a few adjustments to the horse and it's there! Awesome logo!!

Your artwork looks good but the theme is dated.
While the original "Charger" theme was based on horses used in war, the Klein and Spanos ownership groups have effectively phased that out.
The modern "Chargers" are associated with "electricity". You don't see any references to horses on any of the logos for the past 20+ years.

Charles,
First and foremost excellent job. Coming from someone who has a Bachelors degree in the Multimedia field, the only suggestion I would offer on this piece is readjustment to the symmetrics of the image, more specifically with the lightning bolt and the Charger fontography down below. When I first saw the image, my eyes naturally were gravitated towards the face of the horse and moved downward and then all of a sudden, got lost in the unbalanced structure. Still looks great though.
Keep up the good work.

Ever been bitten by a horse? Incisors in front, then canines, then molars way in the back that you can't see when they open their lips.

I agree with the post above. I do like it, but if you could make it look more *fierce and intimidating then I'd love it. Keep up the good work! :Bolt:

I like the one with the realistic horse a lot better. Perhaps add in the verticle yellow stripes behind the Chargers name, but I like it.
