The Mods do a great job IMO. It's not easy to do the job we ask them. The Mods will be the first to tell you they’re not perfect. They do what they think is best to keep this community as civil as possible when emotions run strong.

I have little sympathy for people like you who post threads about the mods. Looking back on your past posts I see you consistently use inappropriate language and type around the filter. I think it’s time you take a step back and learn that this is a community and if you want to be part of it you have to work with our moderators.

I hope you'll, like it or not, work with our moderators.

In my opinion the mods are pretty fair.If you have been around long enough,they do there job well.We all have been a subject to their duties one time or another.The CMB sure has allot less troll activity then in the past.otherwise it would be like the wild wild west on the CMB.

I've received some infractions and some short vacations. In retrospect they were deserved. I have no complaints about the mods at this point. I did start a thread once, calling out the mods for over-zealously merging threads. They were nice about it. All in all, I like the mods here.

So after I report myself as a drunk driver to the CHP right before getting onto the 5, then I really enjoy upping the ante and proceed to cut other drivers off or randomly change lanes while slamming on the brakes.

This way I not only force the police to form an opinion about me, but my fellow drivers who all in the same quest.

Its my strong belief that I get better MPG when powered by negative energy.

In response to posts regarding infractions for abbreviated language, I would refer you to the following from the forum rules, code of conduct (http://forums.chargers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=139), and TOS:

This forum is equipped with a word censor. If the censor replaces your word with ***, please do not type around the censor by using dollar signs for an S or any similar method. The use of terms like 'F'in', OMFG, 'F' this, or other abbreviations is considered just another form of avoiding the censor.

Regarding "deleted threads"... the only threads which tend to get outright deleted are ones in which the first post contains violations of the forum rules - when the first post is removed, it removes the entire thread.

Much more likely is that a thread in question has been merged with another thread on the exact same topic. If one thinks "their" thread has been deleted, the best thing to do is to look for your own posts via your user profile and find the post you started the thread with - which will lead you to the merged thread. We usually leave "links" to the merged thread, but they have time limits and go away after the prescribed period of time.

Regarding moderator actions in general - I think Joel summed it up pretty well... we do our best to make this a great forum for the majority of users within the limits set by the Chargers organization.

I think I speak for all the moderators when I say we would much prefer to only have to deal with the occasional opposing team troll or merging of threads and not have to ever give out infractions or "vacations". Unfortunately, sometimes people's emotions get the better of them and they do things they wouldn't normally or shouldn't by virtue of the rules do. In such cases, for the reasons previously outlined a moderator will have to intervene. It isn't something we enjoy - but it is part of our "terms of moderatorship" and is always done with the best interest of the forum as a whole.

I can understand not liking getting called out when using curse words. In the world we live in they are common place. It's not fun being told you cant do this, You cant do that

The reality of it all is that the CMB is a privately owned message board and is owned by the San Diego Chargers. When I signed up for the message board I agreed to the terms which included no cursing and no disrespecting others and various other rules.

If I violate the rules (which I have) I am subject to censure. I try to operate within the guidelines of the CMB and for the most part it is very easy.

The Moderators do this voluntarily and spend many hours making the place mellow and low key and for the most part free of offensive language. I like that and I allow my children (if they want) to read this forum because I know for the most part its a safe web site for them to go to and as a parent of 5 children, I appreciate that.

You seem to be an intelligent person man so just keep it mellow and low key like you have in the past and you'll do fine. If you do violate the rules then man up and take your lumps. After you do that it's all good.....

I think many of us members can stand to be a little more mature about how we post on here. It is not only a reflection of ourselves, but as a fanbase as a whole.

I ask that we simply follow the rules.

As far as the ticky tack bannings, I have fallen victim to it as well, and have also been banned for more serious offenses. Most opposing fans who aren't even trolling get attacked for no reason then get banned. Our own fans get banned when they express dissenting opinions. It needs to stop.

But like I said, it goes both ways. Follow the rules, and be respectful and mods will in turn respect you more.

You might want to touch it up to make the font a bit bigger. Whenever I glance over it, I see the word "MODERATOR", but the "Not a Mod" part doesn't quite stand out - unless you're looking intently at it... which I haven't done since She-Wee Herman.
