Spotlight on: Sixth-year Chargers defensive end Jacques Cesaire, an undrafted free agent who played at Southern Connecticut State and has been with the Chargers for all six of his pro seasons.
Why Cesaire?: When starter Luis Castillo exited Sunday's 11-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first half with a groin injury, the 6-foot-2, 295-pound Cesaire entered as Castillo's replacement and proved to be a spark plug with his relentless style of play.
Injury hurts: With 5 minutes, 37 seconds left and the Steelers embarking on what would prove to be the game-winning drive, Cesaire left the game with a knee injury. He said he took a helmet to his left knee on what was a 4-yard run up the middle by Willie Parker. It was probably no coincidence Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger rarely was pressured after Cesaire's exit, as he completed five straight passes to set up Jeff Reed's 32-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining.

Cooper:
"Jacques comes in as a backup, but if he plays on any other team he'd be a starter," Chargers linebacker Stephen Cooper said. "Jacques has been doing this since he's been in the league. He's a real patient player. He doesn't mouth off or anything about playing time. He just goes in and gets the job done."
That implies that we have the best DL in the NFL
