First of Taylor couldn't even survive the season and is older then LT and has less production then LT so I doubt it motivates AJ.

Not the guy we are looking for if anything we need to get younger at RB. LT is still the man and will be until he can't go anymore we owe him that.

they're getting rid of RBs, not signing them.

Does he want money, or a ring?

If he is willing to take a pay cut to play here I think he would be a great finishing touch to our backfield. Split carries between LT and him. Both have had recent injury history, Taylor provides the power we are looking for, could save a draft pick.

opps, forgot to make the text green, lol. i always say everyone is going to the pats like gonzo/LJ.

but yeay, only lamont and morris/green-ellis are cheaper to keep.

LT/sproles/fred, that'd be great. our version of earth/wind/fire. fred is earth of course. i guess i'd make sproles/wind and LT/fire. what do you guys think? lol.

Depends on what they do with sproles.....but you dont invest what Taylor wants....give him a one year deal.......

I would rather try for Lamont Jordan, if it ends up that we enter the market for another RB!

If its a cheap contract & limited carries I think he can still do work as a power back.

it'd be nice to have all 3 , LT ,sproles, and taylor <for the hell of it....but dont see it happening, unless sproles doesnt get franchised its possible.

but then again we have bennett, who showed a little poise when LT was out, but not proven yet.

Bennete was signed to a 1 year deal so if we dont resign him and if Fred is willing to take a pay cut we can sign him

true...looks like he will have little time to prove then.

No...Bennett was sign to a 2 year contract, not one

If we picked him up it would be to compliment LT and to back him up if he gets injured again, that way Sproles can be 100% for Kickoffs, Punts, and Screens.

Problem is Taylor wants to be a starter.

This would be a solid move, assuming that we cut Bennett, who is set to make $1m+ next year. It won't cost us a compensatory pick and will allow us to use our late-round draft picks elsewhere.

Taylor will likely end up in Denver, KC or New England.

Additional proven RBs like Taylor (and possible Larry Johnson) entering Free Agency could could drop the price of Sproles.

NFL Live mentioned that the best fit for Taylor was the Chargers alongside LT.

I wonder why but that's what was said.

In any case...I dont like the idea.

Why not? He gives us that physical presence we haven't had since Turner. Sproles can be the change of pace back and the 2 give LT more breathers so he doesn't get injured.

Well Fred Taylor is not the same as Michael Turner. Turner's much more physical, Taylor doesnt have much left. Injuries is also an issue. I just dont see LT and Taylor playing alongside each other. It's not the kind of RB system the Chargers should instill.

I think that Hester could be that physical back, especially as height-wise and weight-wise he is like tim hightower of the cards, and from the very limited action he has had, he has looked pretty good--19 carries--95 yards--5.0 avg--1 TD

We've already forgotten about Jacob Hester.

The problem was finding a replacement for LoNeal last year so Hester was drafted.

Now that the team has figured out how to use him, he'll spell out the tough-yard 3 and 1 situational H-back F-back the Chargers need.

He'll both play FB and HB.

I'd take Hester (younger and healthier) than Taylor (old and injury prone)

We don't want Taylor and IDK about Hester as a Prime time back, he might be a very good back-up and I love his work ethic and his passion for the game, and I think he can block.... but Hester as the Chargers premier RB? Maybe its because he would be replacing one of the greatest of all time, but idk.. I can't picture him running 20 yard runs and killin defenses

We haven't forgotten, he just hasn't showed anything to indicate he is ready for that role next season.

Like I said, he has had limited action, but he has made the best of every chance he has had....
