I love the fact that more and more players and coaches, etc...are coming out and clamoring to release the names of all those that have tested postive for banned substances (Steroids, HGH, etc...).

I never understood this supposed "code of silence" that players would invoke to protect another player that did harm to the game. Why would you keep silent to keep his secret so that he could profit from it later as well as beat a clean player? Just dumb.

The article with Chris Young this morning in the paper was really good. Its something I have always felt needed to be done. And to hear him calling for the list to be released is a step in the right direction.

So props to all the players now and those that will come forward later, to rid the stain of the game left by dirty players.

Release all the names of cheaters, and ban them for life. No second chances. Anyone that gets caught now thinking they can sneak on by random testing deserves an immediate ban.

The way they have it set up now is a joke. Its nothing more than a slap on the hand.

My 2 cents.

Like Big Papi says "give them a year suspension."

...but i agree with you more on the life ban.

I forgot to mention, that the reason why Im happy that alot of players are coming out now, is that majority of players still buy into this "Code of Silence" nonsense. So your gonna have your share of players that wont voice their opinions because they dont want to rock the boat with their teammates.

But when you have big name players like Young, Ortiz stepping up and leading the way. More players on the fence about doing so will finally (hopefully) realize they need to step it up...for the good of the game as well as the locker room.

I respect A-rod for at least admitting it, unlike Bonds.

A-Rod didn't really admit it because he wanted to. He was made to do so because of the evidence. I can't respect him for doing the obvious. He cheated. His career is null and void now when it comes to any records he has broken or will break in the future. Had he denied it, he would have come off as a joke (not that he isn't one already). He would have become this generations Barry Bonds. Hated and dissed, where ever he goes.

And as for Barry. He will never cop to knowingly taking it. He will deny it even if found guilty and blame his trainer for "tainting his supplements" or whatever excuse he is using today.

A-Rod is talking now that his name was leaked from a list that was supposedly anonymous, now i don't think he deserves praise for coming clean, but I sort of feel that it sucks that there are 103 other players still hiding in the weeds hoping and praying that the rest of that list never comes out. And the media is killing A-Rod with questions about why he didn't come clean sooner. What about those still hiding?

This is exactly why they need to release the full list. Every player on that list needs to be held accountable for what they did. Not just the one person who got leaked.
