be interested if anyone can get this without searching for it on the internet

A man who lives on the tenth floor takes the elevator down to the first floor every morning and goes to work. In the evening, when he comes back; on a rainy day, or if there are other people in the elevator, he goes to his floor directly. Otherwise, he goes to the seventh floor and walks up three flights of stairs to his apartment.
Can you explain why?

He is very short? He can press the button with his umberella when its raining otherwise he has to take the stairs?

Thats a tough one. For some reason he cant get to the 10th floor unless its raining or other people are in the elevator with him.

hes a little person, and there for he cant reach the button, when there other people he just asked for them to pus it, AngusMcfisticuf was correct,

yeah hes short and can only reach floor button 7 unless he has his umbrella to poke floor 20 button.
