Yes we are all killing the off-season once again. So why not start this thread up? What kind of music have you guys been listening to lately? What is your song of the day or song of the week?

This is a thread to just post good tunes, whatever genre you are into.

I'm a huge Diplomats fan (rap) even though they are not together anymore. If you are into rap than check this song out!

Cam'ron feat. Juelz Santana & Jim Jones- Come Home With Me (Download it or something tell me what you think!)
Its from 2002 but it's just what ive been listening to this week.

If you are not into rap, than post a song you like and i'll DL it. Discuss songs are music here!

I love The Game man he is the ****, probably my favorite rapper. LAX will be platinum by the end of the year I bet, it sits at 720,000 as of June 2009. That'll give him 3 straight. You should hear him in the Round Here remix with Juelz Santana and Jime Jones, he is so sick in that song maybe his best feature ever.

Hell yeah. I am more or less stuck in the big hair 70-80s.
Never liked Grunge.
Now, I listen to radio stations that play alt metal, alternative and hard rock. The only rap worth listening to is stuff added to rock music. Linkin Park etc.
If rap had much more than a shred of originality to it, I might listen to it. Only Tupac and Snoop are worth a lick, talent wise.

That, of course, is just my .02

Gimme Kiss, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Ozzy, Metallica, Ratt, Motley Crue, Disturbed, etc any day and I am happy!

I wonder if anybody remembers The Mentors (RIP El Duce). They used to play a joint called "The Spirit" when they'd swing through San Diego. That was some good music.

Megan Fox needs to do a cover version of the Divinyls 80's classic "I Touch Myself" (complete with suggestive music video, of course).
On another pointless (yet slightly music-related) note, here are the lyrics for Spinal Tap's legendary tune "Sex Farm":

Working on a sex farm
Trying to raise some hard love
Getting out my pitch fork
Poking your hay

Scratching in your hen house
Sniffing at your feedbag
Slipping out your back door
Leaving my spray

Sex farm woman, I'm gonna mow you down
Sex farm woman, I'll rake and hoe you down
Sex farm woman, don't you see my silo rising high?

Working on a sex farm
Hosing down your barn door
Bothering you livestock
They know what I need

Working up a hot sweat
Crouching in your pea patch
Plowing through your bean field
Planting my seed

Sex farm woman, I'll be your hired hand
Sex farm woman, I'll let my offer stand
Sex farm woman, don't you hear my tractor rumbling by?

Working on a sex farm
Trying to raise some hard love
Getting out my pitch fork
Poking your hay

Very nice lyrics. Gonna have to see if there is a version I can listen to on line.

Violent Femmes - Add it up (lyrics)

Broken down kitchen at the top of the stairs
Can I mix in with your affairs?
Share a smoke, Make a joke
Grasp and reach for a leg of hope
Words to memorize, words hypnotize
Words make my mouth exercise.
Words all fail the magic prize
Nothing I can say when I'm in your thighs

There is still alot of talented rap/hip hop artists that mek alot of good music but there are way more people(not artists) that make a lot of very bad records.

I listen to pretty much every genre with the exception of country... just don't like most country music.

How about some rhythms from New Zealand? Fat Freddy's Drop
YouTube - Fat Freddy's Drop - Wandering Eye

This was an group I listened to a ton in the late 80's. The Untouchables. Tons of other bands in this category I love and lots of other close genres I dig- English Beat, Madness, Specials....
YouTube - Free Yourself - The Untouchables

And a clip from my all time favorite band- The Allman Brothers Band

YouTube - The Allman Brothers Band with Duane - Whipping Post - Fillmore East - 09/23/1970 (Part 1)

But THIS is perhaps the best live performance I've ever seen. This is such an amazing performance:

YouTube - Marvin Gaye "What's Going On / What's Happening Brother"

X FACTOR

Agreed. There once was a time when Kanye was one of the best producersout there. And yah just like you said, he takes his ''creativity'' a little too far some times. 808's and Heartbreaks was absolutely terrible IMO.

Not the biggest Coldplay fan out there I guess you could say but I don't not like them. A bit to mellow for my likings but hey, its the music thread! Were here to talk about what we like.

I know there is the ''what are you listening to right now'' thread but that one has like 10 million replys already so hopefully we'll get this one crackin!

if y'all like hiphop check out underground acts like the Cunninlynguists or Immortal Technique. Tech has the sickest flow in the game. Cunninlynguists are my favorite though, their production is top notch and their albums get better and better after every release. People that don't even like hiphop love these guys. Can't say enough about them, if you were to try out one of their albums, start with A Piece of Strange or Dirty Acres. You guys wont be disappointed.

I really like the soft tip rock that puts me to sleep at night. I love radio music because all the best bands get played on the radio. Anyone who wins American Idol becomes my favorite band (don't tell anyone but sometimes I like the runner up better than the winner) I wear my tight jeans at the mall and jam out to all the elevator music, I am sooooo hip.

To old to know any better man, I still groove to Jerry and the boys, mo town and Ja Bob Marley but when its time to rock I dig older 311 (F the BS, it's time to throw down), Rush and hard core rap like NWA and the ghetto boys.
Pop radio is for high school girls... so I try to stay current, hahaha JUST JOKING!
