Look, the guy didn't do much wrong, the same think happened with Marshawn Lynch plus more, but its just the difference in state ruling. We all know that V Jax is a FA next year and if we dont want to pay him big reciever money, then would you be willing to take a look at plax?

Plax will most likely be in jail soon, I heard the minimum time is 3 and a half years, but he was offered two years - which he would be smart to take up.

Plaxico will be indefinitely suspended soon.

Providing that the 2-year plea offer is still on the table (Burress reportedly admitted to all of the elements of the crime in his grand jury testimony), he will be spending the next 2 years in jail.

The best case scenario will be that Burress can play again in 2011 at the age of 34. In other words, Burress has likely played his last down in the NFL. Even without the little "jail thing", Burress has been an unreliable turd during the course of his entire career. He would not be coming to SD in any case.

As for VJ, he'll only be a restricted free agent in 2010 in an uncapped season. For that reason, he'll be back next year.

He's an RFA? I thought that because of the cap thing, RFA's become UFA's or something like that. I'm happy with that. It just means that we don't have to resign everyone on our team

The other way around.

In an uncapped season, you need 6 years of vested NFL service years instead of the current 4.

That means that VJ, Merriman, McNeill, Sproles and Whitehurst will all only be RFAs in 2010 if it's an uncapped season (a virtual certainty IMO).

Assuming they get the PR deal done in 2009 (they will), they can tag Merriman in 2010 and slap the high RFA tender on McNeill, VJ and Sproles (1st and 3rd round picks for each one who sign an offer sheet elsewhere) and the mid-low tender on Whitehurst (3rd round pick if someone signs him to an offer sheet).

Sign Burress and move him to safety.

is it for sure the 2010 season is uncapped?

The NFL and NFLPA haven't even started their CBA negotiations and the owners aren't afraid of an uncapped season at all with the massive restrictions that they've placed on free agency in 2010.

Unless a new CBA gets adopted by March 2010, one full-year before the deadline new CBA negotiations comes around (March 2011), and players totally cave into owners' demands ...

Yes, 2010 will be uncapped.
