But if we are wishfully thinking I would take Cower, Dungy, or Gruden.

What might have been....supposedly Marty got fired for wanting to bring in Brian? That looks like it would have been a great move now. Also although I didn't know much about him, When we had the vacancy, A lot of posters here wanted Rex Ryan. That looks like it would have been just what we needed. Still as much as I dislike Norv as a head coach I believe it has been AJ's stubborn refusal in the off season to adequately address obvious deficiencies in our depth at certain key positions on both lines that has tanked us.

my thoughts exactly. in fact I tossed those names out last night in a similar conversation. I think we could rule out Cower or Dungy. But Gruden could be interesting. Anybody like Pete Caroll?

This thread. Really?

1) Cower aint gonna go to a place where Marty was kicked out.
2) Spanos will not hire Shanahan as he is too dirty of a coach than what the Spanos family want.
3) Gruden - Possibility but unlikely.
4) Carroll? Have you not read the posts about this guy and his reluctance to go back to the NFL without a silver platter? Additionally, as stated above, do you remember his NFL career? Furthermore, he's with USC and is making a name for himself in college.
5) Norv has wins in the post season. He might not have the 14-2 regular season Marty did, but he has taken us further than any other coach in over 10 years!

LOL at this thread!

LMAO. As much as I can't stand Norval, let's wait till the midpoint mark of the season before we discuss a coaching change.

With that being said, I think any of the above mentioned coaches would be fine candidates.

Much better than Norv's previous time as an NFL head coach. I'm not stumping for Pete but you are way off in your assertion. Norv went 49 - 60 with the skins and managed the playoffs once in seven seasons. He then went 9 - 23 with the raiders. Pete Carol had had a winning record in his short stint. 33 - 31 with an AFC east divisional title.

Honestly, I think that we should bring in somebody political, like George Bush or Bill Clinton.

George Bush, with an army of talented people, could treat the NFL like Afghanistan and just throw our entire team in there.

Bill Clinton, with his lady appeal, could get Rachel Nichols or some cheerleader to flirt with the opposing team, maybe take them to the locker room and 'distract' them for a while so they would fall victim of our team on both sides of the ball.

I'm just saying.

Riverside

yeah, we should fire our HC because we LOST one very close game to a SB caliber team. I guess we should expect to see belichick and tomlin unemployed too, because both their teams lost to lesser teams.

Firstly, shanahan didn't make Elway into a 'superstar', Elway was already great, and Elway and davis were really key in the Broncos winning their SBs, not shanahan. in fact, since Elway and davis retired, the broncos have managed ONE playoff victory. but, hey, what the hell, shanahan definitely knows how to win!

I love how everyone wants to throw Norv out after one loss.

Let's think this over.....

We almost beat a team who hasn't let up a 100 yard rusher in 3 years, has a much better line of both sides of the ball, and is supposed to be much better than us right now.

To think we came 15 yards from victory is stunning.

Lots of teams probably want him.

Employment is a two way street. He's probably still getting paid on his Bronco's contract.

Just because he's not with a team right now doesn't mean he's in demand. He could be perfectly content collecting a check on the golf course.

The truth, and put very well. If Jamal is done for the year, we need a fa.

However, Norv has been a bad reg. season coach for years. I dont know, what do you do. He wins in the playoffs, and does it with good playcalling, smart adjustments, and intelligent decisions. Why he cant coach like that every game? Beyond me.

Injuries are a factor for every team, but it has to be said, no team in the nfl could have beat the Ravens, losing two starters from the oline, a perennial pro bowl dt, and HOF rb. Its just that simple.

Was the playcalling a bit suspect. Yep. With Norv, in the reg. season, it always is. But, when given the factors, not many nfl squads would have overcome the odds, regardless.

Shanarat? Are you guys crazy or something? Try Gruden or Cowher first. Then try Ron Rivera. The Dungy. Then Mariucci. Then maybe, the rat.

Its not about the loss or how good the ravens are its about the playcalling. You were not able to run the ball all game and then u run on 4th and 2 with the game on the line??

And the way he plays we ALWAYS have to come back against decent teams and its REALLY annoying.

Shanahan doesnt have a job not because ppl dont want him but cause he's getting paid by the broncos

This is a likely scenario, if we lose to Miami whom we should be favored over & beat at home this sunday! Pittsburg would be the next opponent in I believe an away game, that's going to be a tough one! Again, like I said we should beat Miami, but if we don't NT will be gone after the Pittsburg game! Now, if that happens I would expect our front office to hire from within, prolly RR! I"m not saying that is the best decision, but that's the way our FO or AJS work!
