Any thoughts??
Some would say he's too old. Some will say he brings more veteran leadership to the defense. What say you?

Here's another angle. This is from the video. Note how LT can cut on the inside foot. Many (most?) RBs can cut only on the outside foot.

Coming from the #1 LT hater on these boards, I'll go with LT can still juke Law. LT isn't the only one who got older.

I'm just guessing, because I had thought they were good at CB (at least through 3rd CB), and that he wouldn't come back to play unless it was seeing significant time (starter, or at least 3rd CB).

Not sure what kind of shape he will be in, but I think our team should no doubt take a look at possibly signing a player who cold help us down the home stretch. I still see some holes.

I thought that they have 31-year-old starting CB Andre Goodman, 31-year-old starting CB Champ Bailey, 31-year-old starting safety Renaldo Hill and 36-year-old starting safety Brian Dawkins to provide "leadership".
Maybe the leaders need to be led by the 35-year-old Law. ;)

Wow, this guy may be old, but the Broncos just upgraded their Nickel position big time, they had two rookies or very young guys with little to none experance playing that postion, now they have one of the smartest, most physical corners in NFL history playing that role, he also adds depth behind their two starters incase of injury, he is old at 35 but since he is comming in now he will only be playing half a season so the danger of him wearing down is pretty remote, Broncos are pissing me off because i see this as a really smart move.

You can always improve. There is no question about that, But, the Chargers defense has improved quite a bit recently. We'll find out when we play the Giants, whether the Chargers really are improved, or it was due to their competition.

Nickel backs can't be physical. They play the slot guy lined up a couple of yards behind the LOS.
Cornerbacks playing on top of WRs forced to line up on the LOS can be physical. That's the aspect of the game where Law used to excel.
It's a massive problem if the Broncos expect Law to cover the slot receiver and a huge mismatch for the offense to exploit.
Somehow I doubt that he'll be playing nickel for Denver.

Maybe Joshy is more on the hook than we know. It from a backed up on the fence view looks to be a move to make more of a push for WIN NOW, what later?

Wrong, he will play nickel and he will try to be physical on TE's, the broncos used to imploy this type of thing with a corner/safety they used to have Sam Brandon, they used him when ever they played KC and Tony G and it was effective, right now thats a weakness on that Defense, we exploited it to a certain degree with Gates and Jackson, their nickel corner is too small to get physical with the better TEs and taller WRs in the NFL, Rivers burned that small nickel corner for a TD in the back of the endzone when he got matched up on Jackson. The Ravens picked up alot of 3rd downs by targeting that weakness last week, that is the only reason they are going to sign Law, to try and shore up that spot, and with Us comming up in a few weeks with Gates and Indy with Clark, this McDaniels is preparing ahead of time. They are saying if the guy passes his physical on saturday and practices then he will suit up and see action monday against his old hated foe Hinds Ward. I hope they dont end up signing him but word is he is as good as signed already. Somebody will have to be released to make room, Maybe they will cut somebody good like that Payton Hillis and we can swoop in and grab um up before KC!

Isn't "starting nickle-back" an oxymoron?
Lol, I'll bet Pittsburgh would love to have Williams right about now.

The Donkos are screwed if they play Law at nickel back. Law does not fit any of the skill-sets needed to be the nickel.
Law needs to be on the WR at the LOS playing physical football to have any chance of success. With modern rules, it's nearly impossible to be physical with slot receivers lined up two yards behind the line.
Alphonso Smith had been alternating with Jack Williams throughout the season as nickel back. After trading their 2010 1st round pick to pick up Smith in the 2nd round of the 2009 draft, perhaps the Broncos feel that Smith's up to the job and Law is being brought in as insurance / depth?
Another possibility is that they'll move starting CB Andre Goodman to be the "nickel" in those situations and put Law in at CB in those situations. However, that would be a big roll of the dice half-way through the season. In passing situations, the Broncos would have two changes to the nickel package (Law to CB, Goodman to nickel) that has worked pretty well so far in 2009.

Half their team comming into the season didnt fit the skill sets to run the 3-4, go figure.
