Can't say I didn't warn Bear fans. I saw him as the reincarnation of Jeff George back in 2007 before he did the crotch grab with his back to the television cameras.
This guy has an "L" stamped on his forehead for "L-O-S-E-R".
Sorry, Bear fans, but your GM got jobbed this summer. :(
The sad thing is that his arm will still make coaches salivate and dream pretty thoughts about what they can do with the arm on their franchise - just as Jeff George did for years - and still does if you read Mike "Why don't they give Jeff George another chance" Florio with his pinings for "The Arm Part I".
No doubt about it, Cuddles is a coach killer.

Not to change the subject, but Wilhelm looked decent. Maybe he just needed to be around players like Willis.

I thought he did also. He only really played in the 2nd half after Spikes got hurt. He looked pretty decent tho. Actually made a few tackles behind and at the LOS.

Classic. Bear fans are blaming Ron Turner for turning Cuddles into what he's always been: a Jeff George-ish loser QB.
Wake up, Bear fans. It's a nightmare, but you'll be set free and be able to move on once you admit the painful truth. :(

Just wanted to jump in on the Cuddles thread. Nice game, loser! As someone said above I miss him in the AFC West... glad I got to catch this game and witness him in all his "Culter face"d glory!
And I thought Wilhem looked good also, but so did the defense as a whole so that makes a huge difference!

Cuddles has 17 INTs on the season. Y'all are right: it's his receivers fault. ;)
When watching Monday Night's Steelers-Broncos game, they mentioned a stat after Big Ben threw an INT in the red zone. Someone can correct me if I'm off, but I believe that Al Michaels or Cris Collinsworth mentioned that it was Big Ben's first INT in the red zone since 2005 or 2006.
I believe that PR has had a stretch of at least two years where he didn't throw an INT in the red zone.
On the radio broadcast last night, Randy Cross mentioned that Cuddles has thrown a red zone INT in 7 out of his last 13 games  - and he threw 2 red zone INTs last night.
Yup, it's his receivers fault - both in Denver and in Chicago.

I'm either a defeatist or a realist, but Cutler forces more passes than a 55-year-old divorcee at Tavern on Rush, throwing more picks than a rec league goon.

Cutler threw five picks. I just looked at them all again. In no particular order:
First play to endzone. Horrible throw. 100% Cutler.
Last play of game: had a receiver peeling off to left. Was looking in the right "window" to get it to him, but his throw started right and stayed right, making it an easy pick. 100% Cutler.
The one he tried to dump off -- his receiver was running left to right across the field. His receiver stopped as Cutler threw. Miscommunication. Just as much on Cutler as receiver (possibly more on receiver for trying to do something impromptu when Cutler was under pressure). 50% Cutler.
Bad snap -- not Cutler's fault. However, Cutler was able to gather the ball and decided to hurry himself. Ball protection should've been first priority on that botched play. He tried to hit a receiver in stride when a defender had perfect position. Defender had equal right to ball. Receiver collided with defender and was short of pass. Intercepted. 100% Cutler.
He had an out throw to the right side. Hester had position but slipped and his defender was able to step right into the pass. Not Cutler's fault.
So, out of the five picks, three were 100% Cutler, one was probably 50%, and the other not really his fault. One his fault turned into 3 points. One not his fault turned into 7. He also failed to get points twice in the redzone. Since the game ended 10-7, one could argue it wasn't his fault SF scored those 7. But with 3.5 picked 100% on him and the points left on the field, he blew this game all on his own, no doubt whatsoever.
Here's what FAULK thought about it...

I wish Cutler still played for the Donks. I really miss Rivers talking about him.
The second most joyful thing besides the Chargers winning a game is watching Cutler fail. Any other QB failing I would have some empathy for. For whatever reason I just cannot stand watching this guy. I think it is just his attitude. He tries to play it all off like he's not bothered by mistakes he has made but the whole time his body language is screaming how upset he is. It's even more annoying because it seems that the reason he is upset is that he just can't believe something bad happened to him. Somebody said he is a "punk". Man doesn't that describe him perfectly.
I don't know how this guy managed to make it on a team playing with the grown ups. I guess he has the physical tools to play but mentally he wants to run to his mommy every time something goes wrong.
It's funny how the Bears fans are still in denial. He's their "savior" you know. Even now, after everyone has told them that this was a mistake and this is what would happen they are making excuses for him and blaming the o-line and receivers, and even their defense!

Which is precisely why, just like Jeff George, Cuddles will never change.
Just like a gifted but precocious & coddled child, Cuddles sees no reason to change because it's always someone else's fault: the coaches, the defense, the o-line, the receivers ... never the golden child.
Bear fans are re-enacting the Donko enablers in Denver:
Until everyone points the finger at Cuddles and let's him know it's a "Jay problem" - not a "they" problem - he'll have no reason to change his direction. Not that it would help IMO because he doesn't appear to have the soul-searching DNA in his makeup.
[EDIT] Prima facie example of the above-paragraph is Mikey Silver's excuse-laden column:

Cuddles is never going to change his inaccurate missiles into impossible to get to "creases" in the red zone following bone-headed reads unless / until he's held fully accountable for the awful decisions.

I read that article, and to be fair he did say that Cutler deserved SOME Of the blame, and Cutler did come out last night and basically say a lot of it was his fault and he apologized to the defense.
Very un-Cutler ish, but credit where credit is due.

He pretends to take the blame though. He apologizes for the game yet all the while saying WE need to execute better and WE need to play better. He's just mouthing the words but you can see by his body language that he doesn't really mean any of it, at all. He's just saying what he thinks will fool people, and sadly, the people who want to believe him do.
Come back to the AFC West Jay. We miss you. We miss the look on your face when we stomped you to win the division last year.

And said "We need to do better".
When real NFL QBs step up and take the blame, it's "I need to to better". That's what you hear from PR, Brees, Brady, Manning and the rest - whether it's all their fault or they really share in a small portion of the blame.
That's what a leader does, be it in sports, business or political world. "My bad, I'll work harder to make sure it doesn't happen again."
As NFLknowitall notes, Cuddles mouths the words, but the real meaning shines through loud and clear.
When Cuddles makes a statement ala Tom Coughlin "Lay the blame entirely on me" and leaves it at that, I'll give him some minimal chance of climbing out of the Jeff George bottomless pit. ;)

Did you read that the guy who threw a punch last week only was fined $7,500.00? so cutler gets a 20k fine for talking trash to a ref and a guy who punches a defensless player only has to pay $75 hundred? makes no sense to me. Nah I don't think so, the chad ocho thing was stupid too but to me you can't let people start throwing punches and just give them a slap on the wrist or that stuff will get more out of hand and you can really hurt someone, that ref was never in danger of being hurt other than his feelings and it was Ed Hochuli that he yelled at so some people around here may actually like Cun!ler for doing that lol.
