their confidence is building and they are playing pretty good ball. but do you think they may sputter before the end of the regular season?

I doubt it. The Bengals are playing with a chip on their shoulders and to me its seems like they'll continue to do that. Their whole attitude as a team has changed this past season.

They beat be the Steelers and Ravens twice. If that tells you anything.

Agreed, I think they shock the league and win the AFC North. I don't know how far they will get in the post season, but I don't see them slipping up in the regular season barring any serious injuries.

I get to see them a lot out here. Benson and Palmer run a balanced offense. Their defense has just come out of nowhere and play good as a team.

Their secondary is very underated. They have a guy named Joesph at corner that reminds me of Jammer. Last week against the ravens, Joesph did it all.

The Bengals are pretty good...real good.

But if they keep winning and dont face any kind of adversity during the season...like having a loss or two to learn from...it would be hard for them to be playing in the playoffs...because the playoffs is so much different from regular season games...

Their defense is playing PHYSICAL FOOTBALL. And its not just palmer having to make things happen. They're playing like a team. benson got hurt and they may sign Larry johnson, who although many on here had issues with, will most likely if he goes there become a contributor. I think they're looking balanced 81 afc championship rematch is looking better each day. We need to win our games and make a bid for a division title. We will need some type of homefield advantage because i can't see us having to go to places like NE or Pitt and winning.

Kind of like the Colts not playing hard teams.

And kind of like highschool football. The good teams that make it far in the playoffs are the ones who schedule games harder than their division. So by time their division games and playoffs come, they've faced much worse already, so those games feel easy.

Atleast thats how my team did it when I played. We split our games outside the division by playing teams 4 leagues better than us, but we swept our division and playoffs because it was nothing compared to what we played before to turn us battle tested.

Yeah it's one of those things that is hard to accept but they just keep winning and they beat good teams not just bad ones and that can't be taken from them so they are the real deal

They have already lost 2 games right? but they have beaten both the ravens and the steelers twice so they have beaten 2 tough divisional opponents twice, they probably have learned a lot from their many years of adversity already.

I don't think they'll sputter until the postseason or even next season... unless someone critically important is injured. They aren't exactly known for their depth and injuries *cough* fragile Palmer *cough* have been the bane of promising seasons.

Steelers: yes. Ravens: no.

No, they beat you guys twice as well. The first time was a close game that got decided by Palmer's pass to Andre Caldwell at the end (in Baltimore). And they just destroyed you guys in your second meeting (in Cincinnati). I'm afraid of the encounter already, especially with regards to their defense.

I read that Larry Johnson will be signed by Cincy.

Really is that what happened?

Lol, you really thought that I didn't know all of that? I was saying that beating the Steelers says something about a team, but beating the Ravens does not.

I don't know if I would go so far as to call the second game destruction. They were kept out of the endzone for three quarters; it was just too little too late.

I wouldn't be too scared of that meeting if I were a Chargers fan and here's why:

1. They're playing you near the end of the year aren't they? They might just rest their starters.

2. They're pass defense is in the twenties. Blame the stats in the last two games on the fact that the Ravens don't have receivers that anyone fears, and the Steelers have a qb who barely throws more tds than ints.
In other words:
SD offense> B'more, Pitts

The Ravens aren't a bad team.

The Ravens aren't a bad team.
They are mediocre. Beating a mediocre team doesn't tell you much, but beating the Steelers does.

I'm glad that you understood what I was trying to say though.
