LT started talking about it, and Gates elaborated on it in the interview above

But when you got guys talking about contracts and stuff before playoff games, to me that means a lot. When you have guys talking about whether they're going to get their contract done.....whether or not this is gonna happen, i don't know if i'm gonna be here.....it's no stability, but you want to go out and win a championship.....

That's Gates, not LT, but I take your point.

LT was complaining about the new generation players, who are more about themselves than the team. That's more of a change in the younger players' attitude as a whole, rather than a Chargers "discipline" issue.

It's also ironic that LT talks about "me" players, but his biggest complaint is feeling disconnected because he wasn't involved enough in the offense. Isn't that a "me" thing too?

I'm sure that's part of the reason....but

Tomlinson also intimated why it’s time to move on, saying he felt “disconnected” from his teammates much of this past season.

“I felt like I wasn’t as close for whatever reason to what was going on,” he said.

Tomlinson held out as an example the fact that he did not know until later that receiver Vincent Jackson was pulled over by police a few hours before the Chargers’ Jan. 17 playoff loss to the New York Jets and cited for driving with a suspended license.

“I had no idea,” Tomlinson said. “I’m supposed to be a captain on the team. I could have gone over and said, ‘Bro, are you OK? You need to get it under control, get your head right for the game.’ ”

Tomlinson said he would have been told in the past if such a thing had happened.

So what's the answer?............. if LT would've been told in the past, but wasn't this year, why the change in his relationship with the other guys?

He's known Jackson for years now, so I frankly don't get it. How does that have anything to do with the coaches and making guys accountable? LT's locker room issues sound more personal than anything else.

Um....it doesn't?

Obviously he just didn't feel as a part of the team this year, and his teamates must not have made him a part of the team as much either....since Vjack/Rivers/Volek (the guys that knew about it) didn't tell him anything or felt like he needed to know.

He doesn't seem to know. "I felt like I wasn’t as close for whatever reason"

Regardless, that incident happened right before the playoff game........ did LT feel frozen out by his teammates the rest of the year? It may've been a simple oversight on their part, guys wanting to concentrate on the game and not get distracted.

It seems that LT had quite a few complaints, but I don't see how they're all connected to one another. When things end badly, guys are going to mull over everything, no matter how small. If they'd won, LT would've have said a word about it to the press, that's for sure.

Moekid. What I'm talking about is the Party boys are the same ones with off the field issues. Tell me they're not. These distractions are why I'm saying those guys are focused on themselves rather than being team players.

As the guy who started that thread, I can say that the only reason we care about what this team does off the field is to try to explain how they implode on it. Comments about contracts, head butts, we assume they connect to DUIs and champagne bottles being thrown. The reality is that we have let 12, 13 and 14 win seasons end in the first round of the playoffs and have 5 division titles and not even a berth in SB. ]
that is what the problem is.
