2011 MLB Draft Thread

I just wanted to start one of these, just cuz i've been looking more and more at the MLB draft, and it just seemed kinda interesting in a down time.

Austin Hedges C
Matt Andrease RHP
Cody Hepner RHP
Mark Pope RHP
Kyle Gaedele OF
Mathew Wisler RHP
and Shon Carson OF

Interesting the types of guys we brought in. No LHP's, 2 Middle Infielders, 2 Catchers and 2 OF. Pretty wide aray of players, other than the 10 RHP's we got...haha

Anyone that know alot about this stuff give any updates, if you like/dont like the picks?

I don't know much, but from what I've read about these guys, it sounds like we drafted a lot of high-ceiling prospects. That's a nice turnaround from Moores/Towers where the team loved signability/pitchability guys with low ceilings.

Spangenburg-one of the best hitters of the draft, issues about his position, also one of the faster guys
Hedges-one of the best defensive catchers in a while
Ross-lots of people like this pick, hopefully we can sign him (is a UCLA commit)

Fixed it for ya. He's got very little power at this point from everything i've heard. He's a really good singles/doubles type guy though, one thing said "surefire future leadoff man"
